On Any Sunday is a beautiful 4-bedroom home in Blowing Rock that offers everything you could possibly want when visiting the High Country... expansive Western facing views of Grandfather Mountain, a pool table and bar downstairs, a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, and a great location! Downtown Blowing Rock is 10 minutes away, the Blue Ridge Parkway is about 5 minutes away, and the town of Boone is only 20 minutes away! From hiking, fishing, and kayaking to blissful spa days, elevated shopping, and gourmet dining, On Any Sunday is close to everything a mountain traveler would want. The ever-changing sunset views are extraordinary; this location is simply ideal no matter what time of year you will be visiting!
The house sits near the top of the prestigious Misty Mountain neighborhood. The main road leading to the home is nicely paved and maintained but does include tight turns and some steep places. There are two routes within the neighborhood to reach On Any Sunday if inclement weather makes one preferable to another. The driveway itself is gravel, broad, and flat. There is enough parking for 4, possibly up to 5 small vehicles outside and a garage. No steps are required to enter the main level. Once in the home you will be greeted with vaulted wood ceilings, an original two-story stone fireplace, and tons of unique mountain charm. The kitchen will be well-stocked with utensils needed to prepare a delicious homemade meal for the family and your friends. The kitchen also has a drip coffee maker (bring filters and your favorite grounds!). The dining room is next to the kitchen and features a handmade wood table (crafted by family) with seating for 10. The living room is just around the corner and offers plenty of cozy seating space and a large flat screen high-definition TV. Our favorite feature of the living room is the huge wood-burning fireplace. After a long day of exploring in fall and winter months, relax by listening to the cracking and popping wood. You can access the deck from the living room where you will find 6 sturdy rocking chairs, a gas grill, and the most extraordinary view on the mountain. Enjoy a cool summer evening on the porch with your favorite beverage and watch the sky change into an ever-evolving array of colors. No two sunsets are the same and you will not be disappointed.
There are two bedrooms on the main level, one with a king bed and the other with a queen. Guests in these bedrooms will share a recently remodeled and lovely bathroom with a tiled shower (no tub). One of these two rooms has a view of Grandfather Mountain and both present private and luscious sleeping quarters. Head upstairs via the spiral staircase to find the sleeping loft with four twin beds. There is another remodeled full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. This space is well loved by kids of all ages. Downstairs, also accessed via the spiral staircase, you'll find the game room that features a pool table and a bar/TV area. There is also a bedroom downstairs with a king bed and an ensuite remodeled bathroom with a generous tiled shower and built-in bench. Guests in this suite will also have access to the deck right from their bedroom.
On Any Sunday is the perfect home to host your family/friend vacation and has been much loved by the owner's family for close to forty years. Be it a week or two during the summer, or a quick weekend getaway in the fall, we are sure that this home will provide lasting memories that you will cherish forever!
Additional notes:
-This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
-Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
- This home has an exterior camera monitoring the driveway and entryway only, no other cameras are present at the property.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled with a 15+ day notice will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 8-14 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of their reservation payments. Bookings canceled within 7 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
