Friendly host but unclean property
The positive: The host was very responsive throughout my booking process & questions. The negatives: After a 6 hour drive, we arrived at the property a little after 8pm. Upon entering, we noticed the floor was dirty. I looked to the right & I see under the end table about a hand full of sewing needles & thread pieces. I walk into the kitchen and again I noticed that the floor is dirty (debris along the baseboards in the corners). Also the stove top is dirty with crumbs as well as the microwave had crumbs. I go to the bathroom to check the bathroom, again it is dirty. The floor is dirty with hair, bugs and some other brown objects I don’t know what it was. The under side of toilet seat had fecal splatter and the bowel too. The base of the toilet was dirty with hair. I immediately just started cleaning because I was tired, it was late and I we need sleep but couldn’t shower & sleep in our version of filth. The last straw was when we were checking the beds. The smaller bedrooms linens appeared clean; although that floor needed it to be swept. The king size bedroom also need to be swept but when I pulled back the blankets to check the sheets there were stains. That was the last straw & we couldn’t stay there. If basic cleaning wasn’t done, I didn’t trust that Covid cleaning was done. Unfortunately, I am unable to load pictures or I would. I am still awaiting a response on a refund from the owner. I had to pay another $258 to book a hotel room. Where as he could have rented the property out for Saturday night as we didn’t stay our paid stay of Fri & Sat nights there. Especially after I did the cleaning for him for him (minus cleaning the sheets).
