Tiffany was a very unreasonable guest that did not follow rules and attempted to extort me for half of her money back altering seeing a few ants in kitchen. The ants were not present until she brought food. She did not report any roaches. I had both maintenance and pest control service the property and assure her the kitchen was safe and clean. I called VRBO to ensure I was following correct procedure and they ensured me that my $100 credit and quick remedy was more than fair. They stated they would also remove any negative reviews she left after trying to get half her money back. The guest was unreasonable and rude to my maintenance team. They called me very frustrated with the guests behavior. This guest did not follow the pool rules and brought alcohol into and area that has signs prohibiting it. She was also rude to my neighbors. The guest reported no further issues after the ants (that we quickly responded to). They left the house dirty and did not follow check out rules. My instinct was to ask this guest to leave based on our her appropriate request and irrational behavior. I only allowed her to stay because VRBO stated I would be protected and I knew it would be impossible for her to find another property. My attempt generous attempt at compassion and kindness was rewarded with this negative review.
