My two children (Sam 8 years old and Sandy 12 years old), my husband and I had a wonderful time in Ivan's place.
It is a very stylish, charming and cozy apartment ideally situated in the very heart of Paris. You can walk to almost all major monuments, museums and Paris beauties. Best boutiques and Parisian Gastronomy are just a few steps away.
Ivan welcomed us and explained all the best tricks and tips about Paris. Very useful as it makes you save so much time and helps you feel at home immediately. Apartment has all the comfort you need with a very elegant decoration. In the bathroom, a wall of dark blue tiles gives a special new age touch to the suite (bathromm is in suite). In the room and the living room, white wooden beams and a white parquet contribute to the brightness and trendy look to the apartment. It is very calm (absolutely no noise) and well furnished.
Paris is and remains our favorite city and now I believe we have our favorite nest !
We will be back.

This is a wonderful apartment in a classic Parisan back courtyard. A nice living room with a small kitchenette, a big luxurious bath, and a bedroom. The apartment keeps many of the rustic touches, like an exposed beam ceiling, but the bathroom is completely modern with dramatic tiling.
The location is unbelievable. As the title says, right around the corner from the Louvre and the Comedie Francaise, easy walking distance to Notre Dame, the Musee d'Orsay, and other central tourist sites. Also close to Les Halles and the Marais. Yet, the Rue Montaigne is quiet, and since the apartment is in the big courtyard, you don't hear anything of the city's hustle and bustle.
I was suprised to discover that the area is home to many Asian restaurants. Check them out -- just notice which ones have the big lines, and then go to them. The Pho store on the Rue Montaigne has fantastic pho. You have to go right at noon if you want lunch, otherwise there's a line. It's actually a great thing to have if you're jetlagged and can't really eat a lot.
I didn't give the apartment the highest possible rating, because there were a number of issues that were never addressed. The TV never worked. When I notified the owner, he said to look in the "black book," which was supposed to have information about how the apartment worked. It did not have any useful information. Just a picture of remote control that didn't look like any of the remote controls in the room. In fact, I think the cable had never been set up. In addition, the owner seemed to think that the apartment phone was working, but it didn't have a dial tone. I don't think it was connected either. I was there for two weeks, and it doesn't seem like it would have been too much to ask for the owner to drop by once during that period and see if he could straighten out the electronics.
Finally, the lighting in the apartment is very complicated -- you need to turn on one switch for another one to work, many of the switches seem to have no effect. Again the "black book" is absolutely no help at all. You just have to keep flipping switches until you get the light on, and then leave everything the way it is.
These are pretty easy things to fix, so I still ultimately gave the apartment an overall rating of good.
We enjoyed our vacation in this delightful apartment near all main monuments and places as it is situated in the very heart of Paris.
The flat is very well decorated, very calm and pleasant. You have all the comfort and we found all the necessary amenities.
Louvre's main entrance is literally 3 minutes walking distance. But also the Opera, Concorde Square, Rivoli street, the Tuileries gardens, the Saint Louis Island , Ile de la Cité with Notre Dame and the Champs Elysées is 15 minutes away. A supermarket is 1 block away and very refined restaurants at rather decent prices can be found everywhere in the area.
The owner speaks great English and was very helpful with indications and useful tourist information.
We definitely recommend this apartment if you are a couple or a family with max 2 kids.
See you next year !
The location is ideal. The place is quiet and safe. Close to the louvre. Lots of restaurants in close proximity. Metro station is also very close. The apartment could benefit with some simple basic upgrades. The lock on the bathroom is broken. The TV could not be turned on which was important as euro cup matches were on. We were unable to get any one to help despite us calling the telephone number several times. Just 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 guests staying over 8 nights. The living room sofa cum bed was more spring and less mattress. The hostess greeting us at check in was nice but spoke no English and so we communicated through sign language. It would also be nice to have simple amenities like soap provided for the guests. The bath tub is without a curtain leading to the floor around getting messy after a bath. I hope this critique is considered as constructive criticism. Finally the one very very small bathroom, could be a problem for a tall large person.
The apartment is decorated in cheery colors. The beams looked insubstantial until we figured out how long they must have stood up!!
The bed is comfortable, the kitchen supplies adequate, the market close with a typical selection and fresh fruits and veggies. The elevator is tiny but dependable. Be sure you can set an exact time to meet whomever has the key because you will be out on the sidewalk until you get a key. We chose to use Taxis because of cautions in the guidebook about safety. The distances to major attractions are short so. Taxi expense is not high. Taxis are prompt to the minute. Recommend for adults. Location with regard to attractions outstanding.
It is in the middle of everything!
Landlord respectful and helpful. Speaks English.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation week in Paris, in large part because of this wonderful apartment. It's very clean, up to date appliances, and a lovely view onto the charming courtyard. As Ivan said, you're minutes away from about every tourist sight you could think of, yet the apartment is on a nice, quiet street. The boulangerie two doors down was perfect for our morning croissants, afternoon baguettes. A Monoprix only two blocks away provided all our staples. And Ivan was terrific, very helpful both in writing and on the phone - he has perfect English! I hope we have a reason to return to Paris next year so we can stay here again!
