Summary:
Enjoy our Marsh property just 10-minutes from Downtown Savannah and 15-minutes from North Tybee Beach. Our large home sits on over an acre of land, only shared with our two other listings. Our space features a roomy Master Suite with a private screened balcony overlooking coastal Georgia. Spend your evening soaking in the spa or chilling at the gazebo. All the best food, bars, and shopping Wilmington Island has to offer is only 1 mile away.

The Space:
The house is a large four-bedroom and four-bathroom home decorated in a coastal theme to go with Savannah's Marsh. The space is cozy and inviting, perfect for family reunions, Bachelorettes, or simply touring our beautiful city.

The home combines beachy-style decor with a traditional look and a serene landscape that will help you decompress from the pressures of daily life. It is light, welcoming, and fresh - casual yet sophisticated - all in one.

You have easy access to all the food, shopping, and attractions of Wilmington Island, Savannah, and Tybee Island.

Disclaimers:

-The home sits next to the main road, so you may hear traffic during peak hours. This is usually not disturbing to our guests, but we like to disclose it upfront.

- The lot is shared with two other listings. Only the parking area and driveway are shared. Please refer to the listings’ pictures for more perspective.

-We provide all of our stays with startup quantities of toilet paper, paper towels, and other consumables. This is designed so you can get settled and start your stay without worrying about the basics. These quantities are enough to last a typical 3-day stay depending on consumption rates. Should you need more supplies, you can easily reach Walmart, Publix, and Kroger within 5-minutes from the home.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the driveway, the home, and the front yard. The backyard and parking area are shared with other guests staying on two separate listings.

Guests on the separate listing are instructed to respect your privacy - we ask that you do the same for theirs.

We invite you to relax and enjoy the hot tub. Turn the water temperature up an hour prior to use until water is at a comfortable level (we recommend between 98 and 99 degrees). When not in use, remember to turn the water temperature to a slightly cooler level (90 degrees is a good choice). Please ensure the cover is over the hot tub while not in use - this will help maintain the temperature so it is readily available when you want it.

No children under the age of 12 are permitted in the hot tub at any time. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) states that becoming overheated in a hot tub during pregnancy is not recommended. When using the hot tub, remember that there are certain health risks associated with using the amenity. use at your own risk. Our housekeepers drain, sanitize, refill, and replenish chemicals in the tub prior to your arrival; therefore, it may not be warm until later in the evening. Additionally, the hot tub is professionally serviced weekly by a certified spa maintainer. This usually takes place on Fridays.

Lastly, Hot tub covers are for insulation purposes and are not rated or designed to support a person or persons. Please, do not stand or sit on the hot tub cover as it will break and cause you to be charged for a replacement. Remember, when not using the hot tub, leave the cover on so the water can remain warm.

The Neighborhood:
The property sits on the corner of Blue Heron Dr and Quarterman Dr. There are a total of 1.4 acres of private property with no immediate neighbors on the front, back, or either side of the house and campers. Be aware that Quarterman Dr. is a primary road that connects Wilmington Island with Highway 80, so you might hear typical traffic sounds, especially during high traffic hours (morning and evening).

Getting Around:
The house is conveniently located in Wilmington Island, which is halfway between Tybee Island (15-min) and Downtown Savannah (10-min). You can easily Uber/Lyft to either side if you're not interested in driving around - but you will definitely need transportation to get around as the roadways are not walkable due to the lack of sidewalks.

There is a very nice Kroger grocery store approximately a mile from the house. In the event of an emergency, you can go to Urgent Care 24/7 in Whitemarsh (6-minute drive). The Chatham County Police Precinct is approximately 2.5-miles. And the closest fire emergency station is 2.5-miles away.

Other Things to Note:
The Marsh Retreat has three separate listings on-site (the home and two campers). The only shared spaces are the parking area and the driveway.

Best of Savannah and Tybee

I stayed at the Marsh Retreat over the Christmas break with my husband, dog, mom, dad, sister, husband and kids for five nights.Highlights: home is very spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Location was great to enjoy Wilmington Island amenities (yoga, supermarket, nature preserve) and a quick drive to downtown Savannah and Tybee island.The house was super clean, welcoming and well equipped with the essentials. The hosts were responsive and very attentive with details to make sure my family was comfortable. It was a perfect holiday break in a beautiful beach setting. We did a lot of cooking and the large well equipped kitchen was awesome! Thank you for sharing this beautiful home.

Our Stop in Savannah

We did an overnight stop on our way to Florida. The property was great. Clean and comfortable for a large family. The grounds were nice as well as neighborhood. Would stay again.

Misleading listing

There were campers in RVs in the driveway when I pulled into the property. The listing had no reference of this. I had declined to rent at other properties that had similar arrangements because I was willing to pay more to have our own, private place to stay. When I saw this, I assumed I was in the wrong place and both texted and called the owner but never heard back. I finally, as weird as it felt, tried the code on the front door and confirmed this was the right place. Upon check out, I called the owner and left a msg and he did call me back this time. He said the campers were properly declared on the listing. I try to get along with everyone so I said whatever. Neither my wife, my mother-in-law, my son nor myself saw anything on the listing that would even hint at this; as a matter of fact, we saw quite the opposite phrases like “private” in several places describing the property. I would not have stayed here if I had known and I felt deceived. The only reason I didn’t give this the lowest rating is because the house itself was fairly clean and the beds were comfortable.

Beyond Expectations

This was my first VRBO stay and it was beyond expectations. The owners stayed in communication with me on everything. Check in and check out was very easy. They gave great suggestions on what to do during our visit. The home was beautiful with plenty of space. The location was perfect for us because it was only 15 minutes away from both the downtown area and the beach. I would definitely use this home again for our next stay in Savannah.

Wonderful Stay

This was the perfect house for our 1st annual cousin’s trip. The location was fantastic with just a short ride to Tybee Island and downtown Savannah. The host was very nice and accommodating. Each guest absolutely loved the home and layout. I like the fact that this home has as many bathrooms as it does, which is a plus if traveling with a larger group! I could go on, but most importantly if I were to return, I would definitely stay again. Thank you Carlos and family.

Just a bed, not a retreat

This home is a good place if you are just looking to sleep. It is spacious and has a lot of bedrooms. The hosts are very friendly and respond when needed. However, when paying this price, one expects more than just a place to sleep and for the listing to be accurate. There is NO internet at the home. Due to its location on the marsh, there is very little bandwidth. If there is a cloud in the sky, this means there is NO internet. I had to cancel work engagements, because I could not use the internet. We were there during an especially rainy week with 3 children. No internet meant NO television on the one TV available. It would have been nice to have a DVD player to at least have another option. Even on the semi-clear days, we were only able to watch TV for 5-10 minutes before it would time out. There is also very little privacy in the bedrooms. 2/4 bathrooms have pocket doors that do not close all the way. The master bedroom has one pocket door at the entry that does not close all the way. There is no door between the master bedroom and bathroom. There are also two French doors in the master bedroom that have no window treatments. Two giant spotlights shine in on the bedroom making you feel like anyone can see in the room. The door knobs to go to the back porches feel like they are going to come out of the door when using them. Check in was rather late at 5:00 to allow cleaning using COVID procedures. However, we found soiled linens in the dryer that smelled, because the dryer was inoperable. There was also someone's used ice cream in the freezer next to the opened bag of ice that was supposed to be our ice for the stay with no working ice maker or ice trays. The home is on a beautiful lot but does share a driveway with two Airstream campers for other renters. This rental has so much potential but did not feel that it was as advertised.

Property sits back off road

We passed the drive entry 1st time. It was hard to see at 1st pass. We did like how far back from road house was. It has a tree line all around property which allows for privacy and a country feel. We were surprised to see 2 Airstreams that were also being rented. Guests were quiet and private so we had no issues with invasiveness. We had plenty of parking. There are doors that either do not lock or lock too well In downstairs bathroom and upstairs master. No private door to master bathroom. This was not a deal breaker but we had to make arrangements for privacy. We found the house to be clean, well organized, well decorated and spacious. The host is gracious and communication was great. The recommendations for grocery and catering were very helpful. Our dogs were allowed and we loved having them with us. We slept well in the beds. I would have preferred another queen bed in the room that had two single beds but we made it work. I would also suggest kitchen wash cloths and a broom left for use. We like to tidy up after ourselves. Over all we had a very comfortable stay and had a lot of fun while in town. My family will not forget that weekend and my mother was very surprised with her 80th Birthday celebration. We would love the opportunity to use this home again.

Mr Carlos is an asset to the Vrbo community! This house was in a perfect location and very nice!

This house is beautiful, bright and cheerful. Screened in porch? Got it. Open porch? Check! Nice yard the the grandkids to explore? Yup! The location of the house was amazing as we spent time on Tybee Island and Savannah. Close to a grocery store, gas station and restaurants. Next trip back I will 100% choose this house. Mr. Carlos is an amazing host and I wish him all the best with this property and any others that he will hopefully rent.
