very nice house in perfect surroundings

We were here only 3 days after a stay in Kaua’i and were able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the sun before leaving for home. On the beach in the immediate vicinity you cannot swim well, a lot of stones, but not far away there are many beautiful beaches. There are some wonderful hiking trails in the mountains directly behind the house. Everything in the house was perfect, very clean and well equipped with 2 full bathrooms and 3 cozy bedrooms. On the small porch in front of the house we could enjoy our morning coffee with a view of the sea.

We loved this house. It was a really good location to go either east or west on the island. It was also so nice that they had beach chairs and some beach stuff for us to use. We would defintley stay here again. The owners were awesome!!!

Host was very accommodating to our needs and allowed us to stay a bit after our checkout time because our flight didn't leave until 10pm. We enjoyed our stay so much we didn't want to leave! The house was clean, kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, beds were comfortable, outdoor space was where we spent most of our time because of the beautiful weather and scenery. It is just a short walk to the beach, we enjoyed our time there very much. I highly recommend this place and would come back again in an instant! This picture was taken in the front yard of the house.

Our stay from Aug 11 - Aug 15 was memorable. The house was clean and we were extremely happy with the AC and fans in the house. The kitchen equipped and organized. The location was close to the venue we needed to be during the week.

Check in and check out was easy with clear instructions. The welcome packet provided nice details for hiuse rules and place to see. Kitchen had everything need to cook and clean. Restrooms and bedrooms were nice and clean. Neighborhood was nice and quiet. Nice view of the ocean and mountains. We really enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful Get Away with Quiet Neighborhood.

If you are looking for a secluded get away from touristy areas, this is your spot! It is a drive from the airport but well worth the trip! You are close to the Polynesian Market, Toa Luau, and lots of secluded beautiful beaches best for snorkeling! The house is surrounded by beautiful mountains as your backdrop! The house is a bit older but if you’re like us, we were out and about from morning to night so it was perfect. The pillows were a bit flat but we managed. It was very nice place that was well stocked. MAHALO! The Cusino Family!

Wonderful family vacation

My family and I (6 adults) stayed at Ethel and Mike’s house from 5/26-6/9 and had an absolute blast. The location was great. We wanted to be away from crowds, tourists and the idea was not to stay at a resort and/or 20th floor of the condominium in Waikiki. We wanted to feel like we are on the island and Hau’ula provided that feeling. 3 bedrooms, two baths, big salon and spacious kitchen were perfect for us. The cherry on top was the porch we could hang out on in the evenings. We could see the ocean from the porch! The house had all the amenities you would need, washer/dryer, toaster, microwave, beach chairs, towels, to name a few. The communication with Ethel and Mike was smooth, they were very responsive and willing to help. Ethel provided a great description of the area, stores, food trucks, fun things to do. The only minor thing was that the last room would get really hot, even with the fan on, since the A/C air from the living room and the master bedroom wasn’t getting there fast enough. In the end it wasn’t a big deal. Bottom line: we all had a great time, loved the house, the area and friendly neighbors, who always waved to us when leaving or coming back home. Thank you so much Ethel and Mike for making this a memorable vacation for me (a frequent Hawai’i traveler) and my family (first timers).

The property is very dated, in need of renovations, shabby. Ancient carpeting, no smoke detectors, unsecure doors, missing light bulbs, biting insects in loveseat. Outside washer and dryer. Two air conditioners leaving two bedrooms hot and humid.

Will make do! Needs help

The previous positive reviews still make me scratch my head. The living room furniture is wore out or broken. AC only in the main bedroom and living room. I’m not the type of person who is hard to please but this was one place we felt deceived. I would give a 3 star at best and my expectations would have been set and we would not have been so disappointed.

Great location and fun neighborhood

This was definitely off the beaten path but it was a fun area to stay. We came from the Ko Olina area and it was wonderful to explore a different part of the island. We would love to come back again.

Awesome location

Very cool private house. My only complaint is the spare bedroom’s bedding was not cleaned prior to our arrival. There was what looked like blood and guck on the pillow cases. Other than that the property was amazing,the neighbors were fantastic, the owners were easy to reach. The house was perfect for us. I will rent again and again!!

Great location

My family and I traveled to see our son who is stationed there. Hosts were very helpful and quick to respond to my messages. House is very cute and is in the perfect location. You can see and hear the beach from the porch. Very relaxing! Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

Great Home and Great Hosts!

The home was beautiful and comfortable! The neighbors were great as were the hosts! We loved the travel books on shelves inside and we used them. Myself, my sister, and my brother in law loved seeing the stuff set aside in the house for children, even though we lefr ours whlith grandparent's for thos trip! Communication with our hosts was wonderful! The kitchen is stocked with almost any appliance you could need!
