We do get a lot of bugs/creatures down here on the beach in the panhandle, however we have exterminator contracts for all of our properties. We will double check this one and make sure it is being properly serviced to keep the bugs down, they won't get them all but the do a pretty good job normally. Thanks, Gulf Coast Getaways

Thank you for the review. This property and every property we have is on a regular extermination schedule. We will even do extra spraying when needed, unfortunately these palmetto bugs are an issue on our beaches and at certain times like after heavy rains we seem them more often. Upon request or if we notice them during cleaning/inspection we will always do extra spraying. Regards, Gulf Coast Getaways

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback and for staying with us at Surf and City. 💙 We’re truly sorry for the experience you and your pup had with the sand burs in the landscaping. That’s definitely not the welcome we want for our four-legged guests, and we completely understand how upsetting it must have been to spend time pulling burrs from their paws, especially after arriving at night. While the natural sandy landscape is part of the island environment, we absolutely can and should do better about managing burs in the immediate areas where guests walk their pets. We’ve already passed this along to our team so we can inspect and treat the yard more frequently and better communicate the best pet-walking areas to future guests. We really appreciate you bringing this to our attention and still rating your stay 4 stars.
