Great mountain home! I can’t say enough great things about this property! The views were wonderful, the house was extremely clean, the location was perfect, and the kitchen was fully stocked plus some. I’ve rented a lot of VRBO properties over the years and I can honestly say that the owners of the Honey Bee Hideaway are the most organized and informative hosts I’ve ever encountered. They really thought of all the little things that might be helpful for a guest and the details on what to do in the area was extensive! We can’t wait to go back to stay here again!

From the first contact with Trista, she was the most amazing host. She supplied SO much information about the area and things that interested us. The property was wonderful with every detail you could think of taken care of. Beds are comfortable (always a concern) and property clean. We had rain twice during our stay, but it didn't dampen our fun while there. We loved the covered porch area and ate our meals there. I highly recommend a stay there - you are made to feel like the most welcomed guest.

I had very high expectations of this property based on the photos and descriptions on the VRBO site and reviews from previous guests. I can honestly say that Honeybee Hideaway exceeded every expectation! This property offers everything you could possibly want. The location was perfect - very close to Highlands yet very secluded and quiet. The house was extremely well equipped for a rental property, and everything was fresh and spotless when we arrived. The beds and linens were very comfortable, and we loved the shower in the master bath. The "star of the show" is the incredible back deck! We spent hours back there relaxing with the beautiful view, and we loved being able to watch TV outside under the covered section. We even had a fire going in late August which added to the amazing ambiance. Krista was such a joy to work with. She was extremely responsive and the detailed information she sent to us prior to our arrival was so helpful in planning our stay and securing advance restaurant reservations. Her recommendations and guidance were spot on! Lastly, I love that this property is dog friendly. We loved having our golden retriever with us and she loved hanging out on the back deck as much as we did. She actually hid in the master bedroom closet when she saw us taking our suitcases towards the front door on departure day. Honeybee Hideaway provided us an amazing summer getaway, and we have already booked for next year! Thank you for everything, Trista!

This is our second time staying at this property. Beautiful deck and views. Clean and good layout all on same level. Close to town for restaurants and shopping. Perfect house for two older adults and teen grandchild.

The Perfect Getaway Spot

This property is a true gem. The location is convenient to all things the Highlands area has to offer while offering the right amount of seclusion. The home is spacious without feeling overwhelming and the grounds are well maintained. We look forward to staying here again and again!

A slice of heaven

We loved the covered back porch with a view of the mountains while enjoying the fireplace on the cool evenings. The location of the house was very close to town yet, it felt like we were hidden away in the mountains.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (GO STEELERS!) then moved to Atlanta, Georgia after college and have been here ever since.
My husband got into beekeeping back in 2016 because he loves the taste of honey and he loves tackling new adventures. We have many hives at our home in Georgia and he enjoys the beekeeping hobby. We harvest the honey each year and offer it to our friends and family: 3 Sweet Bees Honey.
Currently, I am home raising our three children and managing Honey Bee Hideaway.
I used to be a semi-professional baker and I had a home-based bakery: Sugar and Spice Sweets. I still enjoy baking and cooking and so do my girls! We also love camping and hiking as a family. Waterfall hikes are our very favorite, we haven't seen a waterfall in North Carolina that we didn't fall in love with!
North Carolina is one of our very favorite places to travel to. There are cities, beaches, waterfalls, and mountains all in one state! It's just the best of it all!
I love hosting people in our sweet Honey Bee Hideaway! I just love to connect with and meet new people, even if it's only virtually. I love to help people have a great time and explore the world. That's why I became a host!
