A little about the community:

Singleton Beach is Hilton Head Islands youngest beach beach community. It feature lovely Charlestonian style homes sitting right between a lovely salt marsh, tidal. Creek, and the ocean. It is all private homes and there are no condos. Although all of the homes have their own private pools the community also has a community pool as well In addition to the beach you will enjoy the Chaplin Oceanside park just a few hundred yards away. Within walking distance of the house you will find tennis courts, basketball courts, bike trails, a dog park, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, a playground. If you are not familiar with the Singleton Beach area it is located mid island right between Palmetto Dunes and the Marriott Surf watch Resort (which are both very popular resorts on the island. It's mid island location makes it convenient to all the amenities Hilton Head Island, and Bluffton have to offer. The areas best restaurants, shopping, and recreational amenities are all a short bike ride

*****Pool heat is an additional $75 a day. Elevator and house are not ADA compliant. Elevator is considered a convienance use item only. The main use would be for things like luggage and groceries. Elevator use requires a $200 usage fee per stay if guest wants elevator access. Furthermore elevator use is not guaranteed as a condition of the guest stay even if the fee as been paid. In the event the elevator is not available for use the fee will be returned to the guest. *****

Our stay at the property was disappointing due to multiple issues. There was significant mould present, which led to a foul smell throughout the house and caused severe headaches for our family, particularly affecting our child's asthma. We also encountered numerous cockroaches, including finding them on beds, which was alarming and unhygienic. Additionally, none of the beds had comforters, leaving us uncomfortable in the cold weather. While the property manager did come to address the mould issue promptly, he was defensive about our concerns, suggesting mould is common and downplaying its health risks. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, comfort, and proper management made our experience very unpleasant, and we were quite disappointed, as this was meant to be a relaxing getaway.

Golf trip

We had a wonderful trip to Hilton Head for the Heritage golf tournament. The house at 1 Collier is in a perfect location to sneak in a little beach time. Brian was very easy to work with and the house is huge with great bedrooms. The kitchen is well stocked and the heated pool was a great addition The only small negative is the beach chairs need updating.Would definitely stay here again

Lots of beds - not so much on amenities

Great beach access and quiet with lots of sleeping space. But, house was very sparse. Many features were off limits- fireplaces not active, no stopper in the one bathtub so it couldn’t be used. Of course the pool and elevator were extra charges. Furnishings were minimal.

Acceptable property with room to improve

Pros:- location and proximity to beach - cleanliness of property - space - great for large groups Cons: - bare bones: condo doesn’t supply basics typically found like paper towels, trash bags, cooking oil, salt, pepper. -pool: the big disappointment. We booked because of had a heated pool. We requested the pool be heated weekend before arrival but was told you have to request this weeks in advance, despite it not being mentioned on the listing. I credit the property manager for trying to create a solution by offering an alternative pool 1/2 mile away at another house. The gesture was appreciated and worked well for a day and a half until that pools heat no longer worked.Overall if you have a big group, no desire to use heated pool, and don’t mind bringing every toiletry and basic item this is a great property!

Nice home in great location. Unfortunately the Kitchen was poorly outfitted with dirty cookware which was barely usable. Missing the details you would expect at this price point. Missing wine glasses, no ball for the foosball table, had to buy coffee filters, no blankets for cool weather, no drain in bath tub. Needs attention.

This property was perfect for our family! Everyone had their own bed. There was tons of room for everyone. Everyone also had their own bathroom. The marsh views were beautiful and being a 3 min walk to the beach was perfect.

Great large house and close to the beach.

The property manager Tony was great and Responsive. The home has great bones, great beds and baths. A little light on refrigerator space for a party this size, so bring some coolers and ice. Neighborhood was convenient to many attractions, golf, tennis, marina’s, restaurants and of course the beach.

Best location ever!

Wonderful weekend in an awesome house! This is the closest we've been able to stay to the beach (2nd house in) but it felt like we were right on the beach and the kids loved it! Singleton Beach might be the best kept secret in Hilton Head--Its also one of the widest parts of the beach for all the places we have stayed in HHI. The house is all newly remodeled and felt brand new. High end features and kitchen. The pictures do not do it justice. Everyone had their own space for kids & adults. It's right next door to Coco's on the Beach and an easy walk or bike ride to Harold's Diner..2 of our family's favorites! The owner was super responsive to any questions we had. We will definitely be back for a week in the summer!

Another amazing stay!

We had another great stay at this property. This is the second year we’ve booked for a long weekend and enjoyed being across the street from the beach, close the restaurants of shelter cove and all HHI has to offer. The new oven was great for our group dinner and we love how much space the house has. We will definitely stay again!

Spacious Home

This home was perfect for a couple get away and golf weekend. It was clean and nicely update with a very short walk to the beach. The location was excellent for getting all around the island. We will be back again next fall.

Plenty of room but some maintenance needed

We had a great time overall. The beach was convenient. House had plenty of room with beds and bathrooms. Pool was way smaller than it looked. We hired a private chef to come and cook for us and the oven doors were broken. So the temperature wouldn't stay consistent. They had to take the food home to cook and bring it back. The elevator should not be extra since the kitchen is on the 3rd floor. We had several with mobility issues so we had to pay for the elevator last minute. As well as for the chef since they had tons of equipment.

Disappointed

We were slight disappointed in the house at 1 Collier Beach Road. There were several issues we encountered- It appeared that the house was not inspected well after the last renters left- we found clothes in the drawers as well as a wallet and marijuana “ frozen cookie dough” in the garage refrigerator! There was trash left behind the shrubbery that had been dropped from the pool area- beer cans,food wrappers etc. The house was nicely decorated and the kitchen was fairly well equipped but the oven doors don’t function properly and it was difficult to deal with. They need to be replaced. And the bed linens didn’t fit the beds! The king size bed had a top sheet that was perhaps a twin size.But there was plenty of space for our large family and we had a wonderful time. The beach is just beautiful and this is a great location.

Nice house, needs responsive owner

The house itself was nice and big. When we arrived a maintenance crew was cleaning up from a leak from the pool. The garage was a giant puddle that they mopped with PineSol. The entire week the downstairs smelled of mildew/sewage/ PineSol. I understand that things happen, but not even an apology/explanation text from Brian Davis who was the only contact listed on VRBO. Thankfully I got a property mgr # from a maintenance guy. I would need it. Before booking this place I texted Brian a question about the house. He never replied but I decided to book anyway. The listing said there was an elevator usage fee for the week but would be waived for medical necessity. I sent a message that I needed use of the elevator as I have been on disability for 6 months with an ankle issue. His reply was that the fee was actually twice what was in the listing and completely ignored my medical issue. I went ahead and paid the higher fee because I really needed that elevator. When we got to the property all of the elevator access doors have a combination lock. Brian never provided me that code. I texted him and have still never heard back from him. It’s been 3 weeks. Luckily I had gotten the property manager number from the maintenance guys and he gave me the elevator access code. Pool company was out July 3rd and 5th to fix the leak. Until then the pump was shut off and the pool became a floating mass of dead bugs. Not even a Sorry message from the owner.
