Yurt at Stillhouse Farm offers a unique place to stay in a private setting, less than 5 miles from W&L and VMI campuses.
The yurt is facing a spring fed creek which can be heard from the deck along with owls, turkey, and other wildlife.
Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. An outdoor fireplace on the patio that's right off the yurt deck with plenty of firewood provided. Also, a larger fire pit closer to the creek to enjoy a larger fire.
We raise sheep, cattle, and chickens. No neighbors, including host, in sight or sound.
High speed internet makes for an ideal getaway where you can still work, if necessary.

Our stay was truly incredible. The Yurt was super unique and extraordinarily comfortable. From the cleanliness of the entire place, the super comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen and many special touches, everything exceeded our expectations. The hosts April and Zach are super friendly and wonderfully communicative. If you stay hear be sure to order the home baked scones, sour dough bread and freshly laid eggs. April bakes them fresh and they were absolutely delicious. The surrounding area offers several really cool things to do. We hiked to Natural Bridge(spectacular), visited VMI and sat on the deck at Devils Backbone Brewery for lunch and a beer overlooking the Blue Ridge mountains. We look forward to returning again.

Beautiful, peaceful, thoughtfully decorated and stocked. Our family (Dad, Mom, 10 year old daughter and 8 year old daughter) spent one magical night here on our trip to see caverns and the safari. The river, creek, rolling green land, and wildlife are the perfect setting, and the yurt is so comfortable. The bedding is luxurious!

Great place for W&L Graduation Week

We stayed here for our daughter's graduation and it was a wonderful respite from the busyness of activities. From the goat herd grazing the property to the stars in the clear night sky to the warm welcome by the property owners and the awesome outdoor pavilion, it was everything we needed and more! Highly recommend!

Great place for travel with kids

Our first time in a round house was a great time. Separate sleeping quarters up in the lift for those comfortable with stairs. The hosts are very accommodating. Be prepared for giant chocolate chip cookies.

The Yurt is one of our favorite stays! The kitchen is well appointed and the yurt was very comfortable. The baked goods were awesome! The beef is fantastic and was a great quick meal on the grill at the Yurt. The hike up to watch the sunset was fun. A fantastic stay for our family!

Wonderful stay in awesome yurt!

We had a wonderful 3 day vacations in yurt. Very clean, well stacked, and very responsive hosts. The muffins and breakfast basket were the perfect touch and were very tasty!!! The yurt is in great place, very peaceful, close to a beautiful creek, also close to Lexington and breweries. Thank you Zach and April!!! We are already planning to be back!

Incredible unique stay!

Probably the most unique place my family has ever stayed! The Stillhouse Farm Yurt was inviting and welcoming and had all the basic essentials needed for a family. The kids loved the loft area, and there were plenty of beds for our family of 7. The outdoor space and fireplace was a hit. And the baked goods are absolutely delicious. A must-try! Zach and April are wonderful hosts, quick to respond and very accommodating. Looking forward to coming back again!

Yurt at Stillhouse Farm

My husband, 3-year-old daughter, and I had a fantastic 4 day/ 3-night stay at the Yurt! We were greeted by April's incredible cookies and the animals roaming the pasture. We were close enough to downtown Lexington that we were able to head into the city and have incredible dinner and beers each evening. We were also able to quickly get to the Natural Bridge and other gorgeous spots....it was absolutely the best of both worlds. We can't thank the Nix family enough for having us and we look forward to returning again soon!

Amazing Yurt

We had a great stay. The outside fireplace is wonderful with dry logs for great fires. Inside is cozy and modern with lots of very nice blankets. Great size for 6 adults. We only had 4 but felt that 2 more would have been easy to accommodate. Kitchen fully equipped with everything one might need . Yummy cookies on arrival. S’mores corner with the fixings. Cute tv to move around in main level. So much fun.

Wonderful stay!

We had such a fantastic three night trip made more fun with a great stay in the Yurt! The location feels remote and gives you a camp feel with luxuries of a bathroom, ac and a bed. The kids loved finding sheep and seeing deer everyday. We had campfires every night and sat under the stars. The kids built forts in the loft and collected firewood and loved making s’mores. The owners were incredibly responsive to any question and went above the call when we only brought pods for coffee. A Kuerig showed up on a picnic table in an hour! Thank you!!! We highly recommend.
