I’m originally from Washington State, about two hours west of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest. While traveling—I was introduced to the beauty of Gulf Shores–Orange Beach, an undeniable connection to the area, the lifestyle, and especially the kindness of the local community.
What started as a visit quickly turned into something deeper. The Gulf Coast offered everything we loved—kayaking, scuba diving, biking, and those simple, perfect moments spent relaxing on the beach, just watching the world go by. The pace, the people, and the energy felt like home in a way I hadn’t expected.
In July of 2020, I made the leap and became a local—true transplant to what I now consider one of the greatest communities anywhere.
Then came Hurricane Sally on September 16, 2020. As a new condo owner of less than 60 days, I was suddenly navigating a hurricane and its aftermath with no prior experience. What followed was a journey I’ll never forget—one filled with challenges, learning curves, and a deep appreciation for resilience.
The rebuild wasn’t easy. It came with tears, laughter, and a lot of patience. Between COVID-19 and an incredibly active storm season, those early years tested us in ways we never imagined. But they also gave us something invaluable—a fresh start.
From 2021 through 2023, we poured ourselves into reimagining our space. The result is what you see today: a thoughtfully refreshed condo with a new look, updated finishes, fresh linens, new furniture, upgraded appliances, and a renewed sense of purpose. Even the beach itself has been restored, with beautifully dredged white sand that makes this stretch of coastline feel brand new.
Through it all, our goal remained simple—to create a space that reflects everything we fell in love with here.

Take a ride out to Fort Morgan State Park built in 1834 and heavily used during the civil war. For those that want to visit her sister fort across Mobile Bay, Fort Gaines. Or take the day on the car ferry over to Dauphin Island to explore. or just sit on the beach in your free chairs that have been waiting for you -

For those that have never experienced the night life on the beach, you are in for a wonderful time. There are options for night life adult and/or family orintated in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The Pink Pony and The Hangout are a half mile from our condo. Live Bait is a popular spot in Orange Beach- All have live music most of the time. One of the best places to experience the Gulf Coast nightlife and meet people ages 18 to 80 is the world famous roadhouse, the Florabama Beach Bar. Located right on the Alabama/Florida line, the Florabama has beach access, great food and some of the best live music around, where many greats still comeback too - Kenny, Luke Combs, and many more- Underage kids are fine until 6pm after 6pm they must be 18 yrs old -

Island Shores is only an hour away from Mobile Alabama, 30 minutes from Pensacola Florida, and 10 minutes from Foley, Alabama. Located directly on the beach at 421 East Beach Blvd, ½ half mile east of where 59 ends at the public beach in Gulf Shores. From I-10, take highway 59 to Gulf Shores and take a left on East Beach Blvd, then go ½ mile and Island Shores is on the right. From the Foley Beach Express, after going through the toll bridge keep going straight until you dead end into Canal Road, then take a right and follow it to 59 and take another left, then when 59 dead ends at the beach take another left and go ½ mile and Island Shores is on your left.
