Good location for exploring Huron shore. Quiet community, nice shared space to view water/sunsets. Did not meet expectation with burned out overhead fixtures, broken overhead fan in front bedroom stuck on high, bathroom tub /shower in need of repair, outside screen doors need replacement. Great potential!

these guests were a bit challenging. We checked the lights and they were simply on dimmers, they moved many of the items within the Cottage And didn’t have the respect to place them back as if we had asked them to redecorate according to their liking . The day they left all the windows were left open and we were anticipating a big storm. had Vikki not been there to do the clean promptly we would’ve had issue. With regards to the ceiling fans it is very common in cottages, and nobody has ever complained of the gentle hum that came from that.. I think this particular set of guests were looking more for a Five star resort experience instead of our rustic little gem. I would caution any owners to rent to these particular guests as I believe they are disrespectful. Our reviews have been excellent and by far these guests were the only ones that I would not re-invite back again.

Definitely cozy clean cottage. Beds were clean and comfortable. Host was very good for information and contact questions. This cottage was very quiet and the neighbors very friendly. We enjoyed a back yard fire as well. When in Goderich we will definitely stay here!

Communication responses were very quick. I found the home much smaller than expected by the pictures provided.I suggest more clarity about the amenities provided. Only had hand soap to shower with 2 conditioners and no shampoo.lolA/C was in the upstairs bedroom. We found the main floor very warm.A keurig would be a nice upgrade and the patio door needs an adjustment or repair.However, I enjoyed our stay and now that I know a bit more about the property I would still return hoping a few things were improved.The view and yard is excellent. Quiet neighborhood. Thank You!

Very comfortable and quiet. I'd say this seems like a place where the hosts throw you the keys and you get what you get. I say that because...I had to contact the host when I got there to get in because I wasn't sent any info on how to get in. 1 time slip-up? Not sure. We had to scrounge around for shampoo and soap for the shower; did find some partially used small hotel bottles in a bucket under the sink. Also, some of the dining chairs are about to fall apart. It looks like a bottle of wine was left for us on the table, which was appreciated. Having said all of that, I'd stay there if I needed a place in Goderich (PS. You can't walk down to the beach from the property despite there being a gate in the back).

good morning it’s unfortunate. It wasn’t a perfect stay for my guests. Yes, that was an oversight with regards to the information regarding access. However, as soon as he reached out, we were on the phone immediately. With regards to access to the Beach the Cottage clearly states that it’s Water view not waterfront and we state through the description that you cannot access the beach from the property that it is a short walk down the road to access the beach. With regards to the toiletries we do not provide shampoo and conditioner, the soap definitely should have been full, and that will be rectified. Going forward with regards to the chairs. It was a very quick turnaround with the previous guest, giving our Staff only four hours to make the change. These small issues will certainly be corrected for the next guest, we pride ourselves on our beautiful location, the privacy, the intimacy, the safety, and will endeavour to ensure that the small issues are in perfect order for the next guest. We are glad that you enjoyed the wine.!

Our stay in this cottage was comfortable. The main floor kitchen was large with enough counter space for our groceries, including a generously sized refrigerator. The bathroom is located on the first floor and is large with a shower/tub combo. The living room has seating for 4 people with other chairs available to bring in if you are a party of 6. The sunroom/dining room had the air conditioner which kept the bottom floor cool. One bedroom upstairs had an air conditioner but it didn't blow far enough to keep the other bedroom cool, so I would suggest bringing your own cooling unit/tower. The double-sized beds are comfortable with lovely duvets. The outside yard overlooks a ravine and Lake Huron. I appreciated having a fenced-in yard so I didn't have to tie up my dog. To get to the lake for a swim, a short walk down the road and then down a path (about 5 minutes) is needed. The path is not accessible-friendly as you are walking on gravel, grass, wooden boards and stairs. The beach is rocky with sand so bring water shoes. I would suggest you go into Goderich or down to Bayfield for a beach day. Overall, I would return to this cottage as I had a quiet, restful, and relaxing stay. The community of Bluewater Beach is a quiet community with half permanent residents. The ones I spoke to were very friendly and helpful (i.e. with putting out the large garbage bins). I recommend this cottage for up to two couples or a small family.

It is a lovely little cottage in a most beautiful site. We had difficulty with check in as cleaner did not leave door unlocked and we spent some time on phones trying to resolve. Mary apologized and resolved it fairly quickly.Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots glasses etc. for cooking.Bathroom could use a bit of refurbishing as tub and sink are showing some aging. All in all it worked well for us and beds were comfortable with clean bedding and had enough parking for two vehicles in driveway.Mary is delightful, pleasant and responded well to inquiries.
