The Space:
A third-floor studio in the West Building of the Grand Lodge, steps from the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Open layout built to sleep four comfortably.
➔ Sleeping
King bed for two plus a queen sofa bed for two more — sleeps 4. TV with cable in the sleeping area.
➔ Kitchenette
Mini kitchen with a one-burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, mini fridge, and sink — ideal for coffee, breakfast, and snacks.
➔ Bathroom
Full bathroom with tub/shower.
➔ Building amenities
Indoor/outdoor heated pool, large hot tub, steam room, and fitness center. Ski/bike storage with our partner Butte & Co, free outdoor parking pass, and EV charging.
➔ The walk to the lifts
A flat 4–5 minute walk to the Red Lady Express lift, passing a coffee shop and restaurants.
3 Pros:
+ Location — a short flat walk to the lifts, shops, and dining at the base.
+ Amenities — heated pool, hot tub, and steam room, kept clean and well maintained.
+ Value — one of the most affordable ways to stay this close to the mountain.
2 Cons:
- Building amenities are run by a separate company and can close without notice — closures are outside our control.
- Older building with some wear, and no A/C (rarely needed at ~9,400 ft).
Guest Access:
Self check-in with a door code we send before arrival. The studio is on the 3rd floor of the West Building — we'll send a photo arrival guide so you can find the right building and entrance the first time.
Your stay includes one free outdoor parking pass per unit, plus full access to the Grand Lodge pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness center, and ski/bike storage. We don't live on site and there's no front desk, but our team is a message away and responds quickly.
The Neighborhood:
You're at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Mt. Crested Butte — lifts, base-area restaurants, and a coffee shop are a few minutes' walk away. A free town shuttle runs to historic downtown Crested Butte (about 10 minutes) every 15 minutes for shops, bars, and dining. In summer and fall, trailheads for hiking, biking, rafting, and golf are close by.

Getting Around:
Most guests drive in — your stay includes one free outdoor parking pass per unit, and the lot has EV charging. Once you're here, you can leave the car parked: it's a short walk to the lifts and base village, and a free shuttle runs to downtown Crested Butte every 15 minutes.
Note on parking: the Town of Mt. Crested Butte enforces its lots strictly. Park only in your assigned Grand Lodge space, and on check-out day, move your car before the posted time if you plan to stay and ride — guests have been ticketed for leaving cars in the lot after checkout.
Other Things to Note:
• Building amenities (pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness center) are operated by a separate management company and can close without notice — closures are outside our control.
• No air conditioning — the building has heat, and at ~9,400 ft nights stay cool and rarely call for A/C.
• Not pet friendly. The HOA does not allow pets on the 3rd floor (you may see owners' pets elsewhere — building policy, not ours).
• No daily housekeeping (this is a vacation rental, not a hotel). A mid-stay linen turnover is available on request for an added fee with 24 hours' notice.
• License #314150
Interaction with Guests:
The Grand Lodge no longer has a front desk, and we don't live on site — but we're easy to reach. Message us any time and we'll respond quickly, whether it's a question before arrival or something that comes up during your stay. We'd rather hear about an issue while you're here so we can fix it than read about it later.
