This home, though secluded, is the perfect home base for experiencing the area's many activities and attractions. Horseshoe Bend is located only seven miles from downtown Cherokee, where you'll find the Harrah's Casino for adult gaming and live entertainment. For the ultimate outdoor adventures, visit the Great Smoky Mountain National Park with its vast network of hiking trails. And just nine miles west, Bryson City is home to the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, the Smoky Mountain Trains Museum, and the Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians as well as offering easy access to the Tuckasegee River for white-water rafting.

Great place, great location!

This cabin was everything we needed, it was clean, and just the right location for us. We wanted to explore Cherokee and the GSMNP. It was a very short and beautiful drive to those places. The family loved the hot tub, and communication with the owner was quickly responsive.

Great stay

Had a great stay. Beds were a little uncomfortable but the view made up for it. The driveway could use some work. 4wd definitely needed which they say. Hot tub was nice to relax in after fishing all day

Great cabin

Amazing cabin set on seemingly your own private mountain, very secluded. A 4x4 is needed and is very fun navigating up there. Loved it!!

Place looked beautiful but had bed bugs.

Was really looking forward to our family enjoying the weekend together but had to end the trip less than 12 hrs after it began due to the fact there were bed bugs.

We deeply apologize for the unwanted critters you experienced during your stay. Our local staff did offer to professionally treat the home and when not able, attempted to provide many other avenues to rid the home from pests. We regret that these measures were not effective and that this detracted from your vacation experience. Our home has since been treated professionally by pest services. Please know that we did our best to offer the refund and remedy the issues you encountered, and we hope that the refund you received alleviated some of the stress you experienced. Good house to stay for the weekend. Definitely an older home with a rustic cabin feel in a secluded location. I know it says AWD or 4WD is needed in the description, and that is absolutely correct. I’m not sure anything less would make it up the road to the cabin. I would also strongly advise getting there before dark. All in all a good place to stay.

A beautiful mountain retreat

The house is beautiful and the neighborhood is quite. The approach to the house is a difficult one though and definitely requires 4 wheel drive. We were very grateful that we had it, but it wasn't very obvious on this site that we needed it. All in all, if you can get there, it's a great place and very close to all the places you want to go in the area!

Nice, secluded cabin

My friends and I enjoyed our stay, enjoyed the hot tub, and the comfortable setting. Not a knock on the place at all, since it's right in the listing - but you do need a 4WD vehicle to get up the road to the cabin. They aren't just being cautious.

Simple but just what we needed

The cabin is perfectly secluded. The road leading to it has some ruts but not too bad. The driveway is a little steep but we all accessed it using sport mode. The cabin isnt fancy like some, but has the neccessities. If you have little ones, you may want to bring a baby gate to keep them from falling down the stairs.

Beautiful home, but not what was expected

Cob webs all about the house, plug ins loose, fans that didn’t work the house is beautiful don’t get me wrong but the floors were uneven in places and water damage to the bathroom sink in the master bedroom upstairs and it wasn’t as clean as expected to be

We're pleased you thought our home was beautiful, but we apologize for any issues that kept you from fully enjoying your stay. We shared your feedback with the local manager and they assured us that they inspected the home and the fans are working as they should. There weren't any loose outlets, but some covers were loose and they were tightened up. The wood flooring in the dining room and primary bedroom has swollen and it will be addressed with the homeowner and repaired as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused and we hope to get the chance to provide an exceptional experience on your next getaway.

Fine stay.

This cabin provided a good place to meet with family over the holiday. The stay could be improved with an adequate number of towels, toilet paper, and paper towels. Also the check out rules require starting a load of laundry but no detergent was supplied.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway

Nice rustic cabin in the heart of the mountains. Clean and well kept. Perfect location within an hour of most main attractions. It is high in the trees and there is nothing better than rocking or swinging on the front porch! It is not a "glitz and glamour" type of cabin, but it is truly a perfect mountain escape from the hustle and bustle. Loved it.

This is the second time we have stayed here as a group and the house itself is great. 10 guys on a fishing trip and it has plenty of space. Communication with the company that now owns the property was lacking. tried getting in touch twice in the days before and no responses.

Cleanliness of house left a lot to be desired. Live wasps in lamps, dishes and flatware had dried food on them, front steps and deck had slick spots from where water was dripping and had caused bacteria, water pressure was poor so you couldn’t use any of the bathrooms at the same time nor run the dishwasher, commode upstairs was filthy, shower upstairs was clogged with hair in the drain and the commode was clogged, smoke detector needed battery and beeped the entire stay, kitchen table was so dirty and sticky the dishes and napkins stuck to it, there was sand in the bed upstairs, yellow insulation blew out the vent in the downstairs bathroom every time the unit kicked on, maintenance was needed on the porch and deck, solar lights at front porch and on deck didn’t work and several were busted, clock didn’t work, ETC. Great location, easy checkin but DESPERATELY NEEDS CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE!

Quit little house, Close to the casino

The house is difficult to find on google maps because the dirt road up the mountain doesn’t register. Really close to food, grocery stores and the casino. Everything is under 10 minutes. The hot tub is nice and beds are comfy. The bottom bunk bed was broken so thankfully we didn’t have a 6th person. All in all I would stay at the house again, but maybe not my first choice.

Nice Family-Friendly Getaway

This cabin was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 5 kids. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, and utensils, and the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was great for relaxing in the evenings. The surroundings are so peaceful.... we particularly enjoyed the mountain views, fresh air, and waking up to the sounds of nature. The cabin is secluded, but just a short drive from Cherokee and the GSM National Park. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend! Things to know: The driveway is STEEP (but this was clearly explained in the listing), and is extra difficult when it's muddy. Also, you may want to bring extra necessities such as paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, etc if staying more than a couple of days.

It's an old cabin in the woods

The hot tub was indeed HOT and was the best feature of this rental. This is a great place if your main goal is to be secluded. Be super aware that 4 wheel drive is essential to access this property; the road it is on is in very rough shape and the last turn up into the driveway is so steep that you can't really see where you are going on the way in or the way out. Due to the steepness and extremely rough road, there is no way to back into the drive. I was able to make an 8 point turn in my F150 in order to face out when I was leaving; otherwise I would've needed to back out at least 300' on rough and unmaintained road. I was in town for work and the cabin served as a place to sleep; for that it was good enough. It did have the mildew smell that many of these old vacation rentals seem to have. The AC was blasting and definitely worked to keep the place cool and low humidity. The ceiling fan in the upstairs bedroom could not be run without the light on, which was a minor inconvenience. The kitchen is small but seemed well enough provisioned with cookware and basic spices. I probably wouldn't stay here again due to the blood pressure raising qualities of the road, but the place does have it's charm and potential. There are taxidermied animals and animal parts on the walls, for those who may or may not be into that sort of thing.

Disaster

We did not stay a single night. Luckily I went by myself to check in our first night. Horrific experience is an understatement. GPS has no idea where this place is. It was the middle of the night. After I “luckily” found it I was amazed that the place is even listed on Vrbo and Vacasa! Do y’all even send someone out to see the properties? IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PARK 2 VEHICLES, MUCH LESS 3! THERE IS NO ROOM TO TURN AROUND. WE DID NOT STAY THERE A SINGLE NIGHT. HORRIFIC. I’ve stayed with Vrbo and Vacasa many times. Never have I not stayed where I PAID to stay. We had to get hotel rooms at extra cost and one of our guests just cancelled his trip all together. Inexcusable. Period.

Waste of Money

I arrived at this property excited to relax in the hottub to find out the thing didnt even work. I reported it was promised and update on it so I could get another cabin and never heard a word. I complain again and find that someone is coming to look at it, ON THE DAY IM CHECKING OUT. A week later!!! Layers of dust on the blinds, cobwebs everywhere, and others clothing found around the cabin. Never again!

Absolutely Beautiful

Everything was just as posted. The cabin was very clean, cozy, and inviting. The fireplace and hot tub made it so enjoyable. Really appreciated the description stating a need for 4wd. Very tucked away and secluded feeling, yet close to town. Can’t wait to visit again.

Amazing property

The cabin itself and the property surrounding it is amazing. The seclusion and privacy allowed us to feel at home when were not out touring. However, when we went to check in the cleaning lady was still there. We were about 10 mins early but she said she would not be finished until 4:30. We were due for check in at 4. The cleaning was not gross but could have been better. The floors were sticky and there was dust and spider webs under the beds and on the walls. Spider webs all along the deck. Other than the little slackness of cleaning and maybe suggest some safety gates at the the entrance to all the stair ways( for toddlers) the cabin was a great stay. Our family had a fantastic time.
