Relax and unwind at Our Mountain Oasis! Our 3 bedroom, 3 bath, single story home is easy on your back, no need to lug suitcases up or down flights of stairs. The open floor plan provides the perfect gathering place for family and friends but when it is time for some quiet seclusion, each bedroom is located for privacy. Our home includes 2 suites on opposite sides of the house, each with it's own private, uncovered deck to enjoy your early morning coffee. In the living room, 2 sets of large sliding doors expand the living area further onto a large screened deck with ample seating for relaxing. This is the ideal spot for wine and conversation. The deck also includes a dining area to enjoy your steak fresh off the grill. The elevated deck offers soft breezes and a mountain view that feels as if you are floating in the trees. On cool evenings, lounge in front of one of the gas fireplaces located in the living room or on the deck. Our elegantly rustic home with its beautiful wood accents has a quiet, private ambiance yet you have easy access to the Sapphire Valley Masters Association amenities, local outdoor activities, and even some shopping if you so desire. Whether you are joining us for the solitude of a comfortable home away from home or looking to spend your days packed with outdoor pursuits, we know you will cherish the time you spend here and we will be proud to welcome you back time and time again.

Our Mountain Oasis

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Our Mountain Oasis. The host responded quickly and had great communication. The house was very clean and very well stocked with anything you could need in the kitchen. The bedroom and bathrooms we’re spacious and cozy. The house is located in a beautiful area in Sapphire Valley and you can walk easily in the neighborhood. We were close to great restaurants, hiking trails, shopping, water sports and golf. After a long day out exploring it was so nice to come back and relax on the screened in porch. We sat outside and enjoyed the rain and sunshine. The cool mountain air was a plus. House is nice and roomy with lots of space to enjoy a puzzle or watch a movie. We look forward to going back again soon. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

This house was perfect for the 6 of us. It's nicely furnished, has wonderful beds, and the deck was our favorite gathering place. The host provided a notebook full of information on the house and area. And the bears and deer were delightful!

Fantastic Place

We had a wonderful time. Dorothy was so easy to work with, and just such a delight. The best appointed kitchen of any rental house I've ever been in. Outstanding Hostess

This property is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. Having two master suites at opposite ends of the house was very good for my family, but the most outstanding feature about the house is the huge screened-in porch with a fireplace, grill, dining table and great lounge chairs. Dorothy is an amazingly gracious, helpful hostess and she thinks of things before you even know you need them. One of my best VRBO rentals ever.

Perfect Mountain Retreat

We had the most relaxing time at Our Mountain Oasis. The house is beautiful! The porches are amazing with a huge outdoor fireplace. It was the perfect place to drink our morning coffee and watch the sunset. Our young children loved all of the room and the bunk beds. The owners were very responsive and even did an extra super clean for us because our young child is very high risk for Covid. We will definitely come back soon!

Beautiful Home with Attention to Detail

Our family of four loved our stay at Mountain Oasis. The home was the perfect size with well-planned spaces for relaxing and fun. Our kids loved curling up by the fireplace and playing games. We enjoyed the screened in porch during the rain and all of the amenities at Sapphire Valley Resort. We all slept soundly with the blackout curtains and very comfortable beds. We enoyed it so much that we booked our next stay before we left. Looking forward to snow tubing in January!

Wonderful accommodations at Our Mountain Oasis

Everything about the house was even better than the pictures. Spacious, well designed and delivered, and felt brand new. Great place for family, incredible Great room and screened porch (both huge and well furnished , extremely comfortable). The house came with everything you could think of for cooking and a relaxing stay. We had a great time. Only oddity was an accident with a bed that cracked and the insurance covered; but claimed other items in addition to the cracked bed (?). We'd love to stay here again.

Perfect house for couples traveling together!

The mountain oasis had every thing we were looking for. Our top needs were met: large, cozy and comfy spaces to gather together in (inside and out on the magical deck), a well stocked kitchen for our love of cooking and 3 lovely bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom. The kitchen table was great for meals and game playing. The fireplaces and the propane space heater kept us able to sit around for hours with ambiance and warmth! Outdoors, we found many awesome hikes in the area, shopped locally in the charming area and played pickleball a few times at the recreation center we had access too. Dorothy was wonderful to work with!!! So much more I could say… Thanks, Mountain Oasis, for a perfect vacation experience!

Attention to detail ... and bears!

Our family of 4 (daughter 15 and son 13) had a wonderful fall break getaway at “Our Mountain Oasis” 10/4/20-10/8/20. I did very little research, just chose something after about 30 minutes of looking, but wow, what a perfect choice! I could tell simply by the homeowner’s immediate and thorough replies to my questions that she truly cared about providing a delightful experience for her guests. The home is lovely, and absolutely no detail has been overlooked. The beds are very comfortable, plenty of high quality pillows, wonderful bedding with various layers of blankets and coverlets. The bathrooms are stocked with lots of towels as well as extras like toothbrushes and other essentials that guests might need. The large screened porch has comfortable seating, a gas fireplace, fans, good lighting, a gas grill and even an outdoor heater. We were in heaven sitting on the porch, all reading our books or relaxing after a hike, with the breeze blowing from the porch into the house through the sliding glass doors. The kitchen is completely stocked and up to date. The den/main living space/dining area has large cozy chairs, another fireplace, tons of books and games. This is such a long review, but I could still go on and on! The location of the home was perfect for hiking to Rainbow Falls in Gorges State Park, to Whitewater Falls, Whiteside Mountain, and the pretty little Silver Run Falls. We also ventured to Panthertown Valley and made our way to Schoolhouse Falls. We hope we will have a chance to return to this inviting and delightful home. We loved every minute of our stay. We have travelled all over the country, and quite a bit internationally. We are pretty particular about accommodations. I will go as far as saying, this is the best VRBO we have ever rented, due in large part to the attention to detail by its homeowners. What stands out the most from our stay is that at 9am on our first morning, we looked out the window to see a mama black bear and 3 cubs walking past the front door! Welcome to the mountains!

The property was beautiful, neat clean, and well decorated. There are plenty of towels, linens, and pillows. The beds are comfortable and sitting out on the large screened in deck with the fireplace going in the evening gives you a certain type of mountain peace that we came here to find. It is a quiet neighborhood and the roads are walkable although I do have a mobility scooter that is capable of off road so I was able to get around the neighborhood daily. There is a small lake, not far from the house where you can launch kayak or canoes, very scenic and peaceful. The host owners are very responsive and also very accommodating. We would definitely come back in the future.

This place has it all!

As a connoisseur of rentals, this is one of the few places I would absolutely return to... great layout, fabulous porch, tasteful decor and extremely well stocked!We took all our Christmas gifts with us and enjoyed a 5-night stay with lots of hiking, playground fun, game nights, fabulous home-cooked meals, and wine. I can't say enough good things about our stay. Maybe next time, we'll go in a bit warmer clime to take advantage of the porch, even though the floor heater and fireplace made it very hospitable for morning coffee wrapped in a blanket.Dorothy, the owner, was fabulous to work with...very responsive and informative.

Beautiful home and location!

We enjoyed staying in this beautiful home so much! Not only is the house very nice (and so, so clean) but the view is beautiful and it feels very private. The location is perfect. When you're at the house it feels very secluded but it's also very close to so much. We went shopping in Brevard, dining in both Sapphire and Cashiers, and visited several beautiful waterfalls in the area. We loved relaxing on the screened porch with such a nice view. And the large gathering area in the house is so well thought out with separate areas for relaxing in front of the fireplace, watching TV or playing games. Dorothy was very responsive to my questions and so nice to work with. She has really put a lot of thought into making the stay at this home very relaxing and comfortable. And I loved her detailed instruction book! We hope to return for another stay soon!

Beautifully Relaxing!

We booked our stay at this beautiful home and are already wanting to go back! In wanting to plan a short getaway we also wanted to help the area of the Western NC Mountains that had recently sustained so much damage from Hurricane Helene. The home sits where the views are amazing, private and just a short drive to activities. The ability to open the double doors that separate the inside from the screened in porch creates such a relaxing atmosphere. All the rooms are well appointed and allow everyone privacy or gathering together. The owners put a lot of thought into items that would make this feel more like a home than just another vacation property. Every detail was thought out and even provide an extremely detailed guest information book. We ended up staying at the property the majority of our time because of the relaxing environment and all the extra things that are available use (games, fireplace reading, gathering, grilling, etc). From my initial contact with Dorothy she made the whole process of renting her home so easy!

As for me, I have been blessed to have a career as an RN for over 40 years. I started my career as an officer in the Army Nurse Corps, proudly serving this wonderful nation. My master's degree is in emergency care and triage but I was also a hospice nurse for many years. We have 4 wonderful children and 4 energetic grandchildren, of which we are very proud. We are so glad to share our home with you and know you will enjoy your time here as much as we do.

In 2019 we took our first trip to North Carolina and absolutely fell in love with the beauty of this unique geographical area. Located in a rain forest, the lush green of the foliage and the magnificent mountains literally made every turn in the road a moment to treasure and a feast for the eyes. When we are here, we are in a cocoon of quiet peace where our minds are calmed, we can brush off our troubles, and simply relax. We unplug, literally, and it is an amazing balm for the soul. When you visit with us we hope you will do the same.

We fell in love with the expansive feel as we first stepped into our home. The open living room/kitchen/dining room offers cluster areas for private conversation or work yet allows participation from all sides of the room if desired. The large screened deck which is nestled in the trees offers a protected area to enjoy the outdoors no matter what the weather brings. As I presently sit on the deck typing this for you, I am greeted by the sunset peeking through the clouds even as gentle rain drops splatter on the leaves of the trees surrounding me. I hear the birds calling to each other in the distance and the wind rustling through the branches. Just imagine yourself here, sitting with your feet up on the ottoman as I am, leaving the worries of the world behind just for the day.
