Birchwood Resort #3 is a spacious five-bedroom, private cabin with fabulous lake views and all the comforts of home. With sunrise views of Little Saint Germain Lake, a private dock, and a fire pit, you’ll find both privacy and five-star resort amenities on your Northwoods vacation!

Cabin #3 is two stories with two bedrooms conveniently located on the main level with a full bathroom. The main level features an open-style kitchen, dining, and living room, all glowing in the light from lake-facing bay windows. The lower level, newly remodeled, has three bedrooms and an additional living room with a walkout to the lakefront. Each bedroom has one queen bed, and a sleeper sofa on the lower level has been provided for additional sleeping accommodations.

Birchwood Resort has been upgraded and reimagined to showcase the rustic style of the Northwoods and the natural beauty of the resort's ¼ mile of frontage on Little Saint Germain Lake. A private, sandy beach is at the center of the resort, providing a safe and memorable space to swim and splash in the water. Kayaks, canoes, and peddle boats are available for guest use, perfect for exploring the island just offshore.

Little Saint Germain Lake is a 972-acre lake with several bays to explore and enjoy. Known for great fishing and boating, anglers find musky, panfish, bass, pike, and walleye. Winter adventures are even more fun with over 500+ miles of snowmobile trail throughout Vilas county.

The cabin cleanliness upon arrival was immaculate. It is VERY tight so I recommend 5 people at the most. We did run into an issue but the host had someone out the next day to take care of it.

We booked the cabin for a snowmobile trip.The cabin was in good condition and clean and the location on the lake was really great. Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers but parking is across the road from the resort. The beds and the pillows were not very comfortable, definitely recommend bringing your own pillows!

The property was absolutely wonderful, the property owner contacted us if we needed anything from before we were there and then as soon as we arrived. We would definitely stay again.

Great Stay

The house has been redone and is very nice. The parking is extremely adequate. I would stay here again. Just be aware that the checkout on Saturday is not 10AM. Checkout is at 8AM on Saturday. So you your last night on property is spent packing and not reminiscing of the past week. You need to be out the door by 8AM.

Reviewer Comments: Our family has been staying in this cabin for 9 years.The new owners (Hiller's)have made some great updates.Our cabin has been completely redone. Beautiful!!The only negative I have is that the new owners are advertising pet's welcome. The cabin next to us had 2 large dogs that were left alone periodically that barked for hours!! What are those pets doing to your newly remodeled cabins??? I suggest boarding your pets!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Decent accomodations, convenient location, right on lake, pet friendly, overall a kinda typical Wisconsin vacation rental. Inadequate and small bathrooms especially toilet and shower stalls. No air conditioning. Found mouse poison pelets in unlocked utility room, dangerous for pets to get into. Way to early 8:am Check out time, got permission for later time.

Great Family Escape

The updated kitchen and bathrooms were very nice. This was the 2nd time renting cabin #3 at the Birchwood Resort. The Beach was raked every morning with nice clean sand for swimming and playing in. Deer walked by every morning to greet us. Fishing is always good on Little St. Germain. Nick and his staff are always friendly and very helpful if we had any questions. They were attentive to us if we needed anything. Location is close to the boat launch and downtown St. Germain. We have already reserved our spot for next year and may even be back this fall because we always have a wonderful time. We highly recommend the Birchwood Resort.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arived to the home we originally booked, heater was not working (and it was cold outside). We called the number , but they work 9-5 , so no one answered. I e-mailed and I received a response that someone on a way. After that matter was handled very satisfactory. So outside of those couple hours , it was OK. Also, pedal boat was not available as promised. Good place to stay, just those mishaps makes you think twice.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were told when we booked that the property was undergoing a renovation, that it would be complete before the summer season, and that there would be A/C. The renovation was laughable - like people with NO construction background whatsoever did the work. There's a whole section of the countertop in the kitchen missing. Cabinet doors were missing. Drawer/cabinet pulls were missing. Doors were hung wrong and wouldn't come close to closing (unless you absolutely slammed them). All the trim was missing (look at the floors). The shower fixture and drain were installed incorrectly, and the list goes ON and ON and ON. The TV was missing. AND THERE WAS NO A/C. It was so hot and muggy inside - we were miserable. All the beds and pillows were terribly uncomfortable, and the windows were absolutely filthy and covered with bugs and webs, etc. - totally blocking the view of the lake. (Why would they not clean the windows??) I DID like the square footage and having a big kitchen table . . . that was about it. This house was over $5k . . . and we had to rent bath towels. It very much seemed like the renovation was obviously not complete, but it was time to open for the summer season, so they just stopped midway through, took our money, and will hopefully finish their joke of a reno after summer. We'll never stay there again.

Hi Jeri, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay in Cabin #3 at the Birchwood Resort. Our team is working hard on renovating all of our cabins. Unfortunately, due to the supply chain and labor issues, some of the cabins did not get done in time. This cabins does not offer air conditioning, so there must have been some sort of miscommunication. We do not offer any towels in our cabins, that would have been communicated to you through the contract you signed and when you downloaded the "Glad to Have You" app. We hope that during your stay you looked at the units that have been completely remodeled and could see what the finished product will look like. We hope you decide to stay with a Hiller Vacation Home in the future.

Booked many places through this app, this cabin probably the worst of all. No proper lighting inside, rooms very gloomy and small, could put crib in any rooms. Bathrooms are terrible, I am 5, 9" 160 lbs. But couldn't fit on the both upstairs or downstairs toilet, my knees and elbows were again the wall. Location was great!

Love the new appliances & beds! But we are disappointed that this resort has been opened up to allowing pets! Pets in some households have become very important. What about a renter having an allergy to pets?? Also, pet owners get lazy about cleaning up after those pets. I think it was not a wise decision to allow pets.

Kitchen was stocked with nice cookware and plenty of dishes/silverware for our group. Kitchen table was great for family meals and game nights. Dock was new with a nice bench right on the water. Nice firepit for evening fires with ample seating for our group. It was still cool out to enjoy the beach but it was cleaned/raked daily and very inviting. The staff was present and available for any needs or questions. Beds slept well as they were newer mattresses. Management stated all the cabins will be getting renovated which will be a bonus come next year. This cabin was comfortable and we will be booking this spot again for next year. Thanks Hillers.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very relaxing weekend enjoying the beautiful calm of Little Lake St Germain. The cabin had everything we needed and we were comfortable in our bed.(1 of the kids beds was a little stiff, but not bad)Staff was very friendly when we conversed. Cabin was a bit out of date, but we were the last staying before remodeling. Can;t wait to see the cabin next year. Thank you Hiller Vacation Homes
