We were planning to attend a wedding where we could be near our family living on Lake Minnetonka. Having visited Excelsior multiple times, we enjoyed going there for shopping, coffee and restaurants. The ideal place would allow 11 of us, ages 11-72, from Oahu, Miami and NYC stay in one place. I had seen The Guest House multiple times while driving into town on previous trips to Lake Minnetonka. When searching for a short-term rental, The Guest House fit the need perfectly.Everything you need is in short walking distance; Kowalski's Market for groceries/StarBucks is just across the street and down a block. There are great restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner within 3 walking blocks. Coffee shops, a bakery and ice cream shop for all ages to enjoy. There is a foot/bicycle trail for riding, walking and/or running that is perfect no matter the distance you want to travel. The house was ideal with rooms and bathrooms spread out for all to have space, yet a beautiful kitchen and dining/living room nearby for all to gather in. We had coffee on the front porch and enjoyed the Fall weather. Walking through the neighborhoods, we saw beautiful home and even white squirrels. Bunnies hopped across the courtyard in the morning to the delight of all.The management was excellent to work with and ensured we were satisfied. The house is truly a charming historic home outside, and in. Each bedroom is set up with its own classical look. Highly recommended for all to enjoy!
