Perfect weekend on the lake

A group of us wanted to escape the heat in Austin,TX and take a trip to our friends home town and this house was absolutely perfect!! Right on the lake with a dock for our friends boat, it’s in an adorable neighborhood and the perfect amount of space for us! It’s one of the only rentals on the lake and it had everything we needed. Such a memorable trip and would recommend to anyone!

Excellent Family Vacation!

We had a great week on this beautiful lake! The home was perfect for the eight of us and two dogs. Per Scott's outfitter recommendation, we rented a pontoon, which worked out well and was conveniently docked just steps out the back door. Scott was an excellent communicator leading up to and during our stay. We look forward to returning in the future!

Great location and great house!

We stayed here for a week while visiting family and friends and it was just what we were looking for. The house had plenty of space for our family of four and to entertain our guests. Our kids loved swimming off the dock and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the patio. The dock was large enough for our boat rental and still had space for our kids to swim. Definitely check it out if you are looking for a great place on Lake Minnetonka.

Location was fabulous! Beautiful view from both master bedroom and living room and back deck!

We truly enjoyed our stay! Comfortable beds and loved the location, both lake and access to interstates. Furniture in living room is dated and uncomfortable. Leather cushions are attached to couch but slide out right after you sit down so hard to get comfortable. Patio furniture is very nice and landscaping/deck is beautiful!

A Gem on Wayzata Bay!

This was a special place. Our party thoroughly enjoyed the access to the dock and water. Four adults and 2 children stayed in the main house, and we also rented the guest house on the property for additional lodging for two adults. The kitchen had pretty much everything we could have asked for to make our meals. We only needed to bring in food! We rented a pontoon boat from a local business and spent some part of every day on the gorgeous lake. Our weather during our two week stay was nearly picture perfect. Thank you for the GREAT family memories!

Wonderful Christmas Holiday at the Lake House

We wanted to spend Christmas in the snow and get that Chalet feeling. Scotts Home at the Lake definitely delivered it all. Spacious home with plenty bedrooms and bathrooms, very clean, great kitchen, fireplace, laundry room with mud room entrance, garage, amazing Master Suite and of course the view. The frozen lake right out of the deck. We loved every minute there. The cute town of Wayzata is a 4 minute drive away to all the shops and restaurants. In winter you can actually walk there over the ice or use a snowmobile, in summer just take the boat. Scott was always reachable for questions and check-in was super easy. This was a great vacation place and we definitely will be back.

Fantastic Experience, Fabulous Trip

I spoke with the owner prior to renting this property and he was very helpful in explaining the area and the houses amenities. He was always available to answer questions or offer tips on things to do in the area. The house is very nice and offers a great "flow". The kitchen is well appointed and easy to work in. The appliances are top notch. The bedrooms and beds were all comfortable and all the toiletry items/towels/pots/pans were high quality. The house it self offered high tech features from the new HVAC system, a keyless entry system and Wi-Fi to premium cable in every bedroom and the living room. That being said, who wanted to be inside watching TV? We were outside most of the time fishing and swimming or enjoying the fire pit. We also enjoyed watching all the gorgeous boats travel past the house. It is a no wake zone which is on the way to a public access marina and we saw so many beautiful and unique boats go by all day long. My kids called it "a boat parade". We rented a boat which was very convenient and easy to do. Downtown Wayzata was a quick drive, or even quicker boat ride away and offered great shopping and exceptional dining options. It was an "up north" experience which was in close proximity to a "West Palm Beachish" atmosphere. We had a great time and we look forward to returning.

Beautiful week on the lake

Slice of heaven tucked in a quiet bay on Lake Minnetonka. 3 families (7 adults), 5 kids spent a week. The house is not as big as it appears in photos and was just enough room to sleep everyone. We would not have fit comfortably without also renting the guest house. This was a perfect quiet place for our parents to be separate from the main house with all the kids. There is only a half bathroom on the main level so adults sleeping off the kitchen/laundry area have to go upstairs to shower. The master suite is huge compared to the rest of the bedrooms. This allowed my sisters family to have space to put a blow up mattress to sleep 2 younger kids. The family room is not large enough to accommodate our party of 12 but we made it work for evening game or movie watching. Be very careful when cooking, we set off the smoke alarms every day while cooking bacon. There is no fan/exhaust in the kitchen. Thankful that the fire dept didn’t end up at the house at least once during the week. Otherwise, the kitchen has everything you need to cook meals in, plus 2 full sized grills. The lake is pristine and very clean. The lake is HUGE and was great for tubing but skiing was only possible early morning or late evening. We rented a pontoon boat for the week which was nice and brought our own Chapparell ski boat.. The outdoor deck and seating is nice with a flat surface to the lake which was great for my older parents. There is no extra yard for yard games and a small space for a night time fire. Being on a slow no wake portion of the bay allowed for nice paddle boarding. I brought my own from home and the nice neighbors let us borrow theirs for a paddle. Wayzata is an expensive/upscale area so plan accordingly. Overall, we had a great week at at the lake and Scott the owner was available by text for anything we needed.

Beautiful Lake Home

Beautiful lake home on Wayzetta Bay. We live in a lake home ourselves but this was so fun because it is so close to the water. The downstairs almost feels like a luxury houseboat. Lovely patio, long dock, nice size bedrooms, amazing master suite with a wall of windows overlooking the lake. Great restaurants nearby. Scott the owner is awesome, very helpful and welcoming. He is knowledgeable about the home and area. We were able to rent a pontoon to enjoy the larger lake and boat to lunch. Our teens loved it. Nice kitchen and laundry room. Boys loved the television/entertainment options. Quiet neighborhood easy access to twin cities. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks Scott

Glad you enjoyed the house. Since you were there I replaced all TV's with the latest and best Samsung large screens in all bedrooms and living room, so you will enjoy even more when the sun goes down. Come back soon. Scott

Lovely home..comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, spacious! We came with children, grandchildren and dogs, so the small yard was a bit of a drawback. We solved that by renting a pontoon boat and spent as much time as possible on the boat, dogs and all. Everybody loved it! We would do it again in a heartbeat. The owner was available by text and immediately responded to questions. All in all, it was a perfect vacation!

Great Lake Place

Perfect place for my family: rented a boat, great patio with plenty of chairs, went to new downtown statium, went golfing, went to the zoo, went to MN fair. Grocery shopping nearby. Wonderful kitchen and appliances. Plenty of parking.

I truly enjoy making this house a great vacation for people. We will constantly upgrade something but we don't have much yet to do. Maybe a pontoon at our docks constantly to use will work and please let me know. Scott

Wayzata Wonderful

Beautiful home on lovely part of Lake Minnetonka. The master bedroom is enormous with a great view of the lake, and the house is fully stocked with everything you need for a lakeside vacation. The owner is extremely responsive. Very close to great restaurants, shopping, entertainment and adventure.

I had to wait 15 years to buy this house/LOT because they never come up for sale on Wayzata bay. Wayzata bay, on Lake Minnetonka is close to the city of Wayzata and downtown Minneapolis. Everything you want to buy, like food etc. is just 1/2 mile away. Wayzata is a spring feed lake so its clear and no weeds - great for swimming. I have been renting this house for only 1 year, but I have been renting out my other homes in Naples, Florida for 8 years so I am organized and know what people want when on vacation. Everything you would ever want is at the house because its my main house and I left everything in place to use: 50' Plasma TV (2) new furniture, BBQ and all the linen and kitchen equipment you'll ever need. You can reach me when anything goes wrong.

Wayzata bay is a DEEP WATER bay close to Downtown Wayzata, so its the best location on Lake Minnetonka. Spring feed clear water, no weeds, Deep Water always, and a low speed (no wake zone) traffic. Wayzata bay is close to Hwy 101/Minnetonka Blvd where all the shopping is: grocery stores, resturants, hardware stores, excercise clubs, gasoline and wine shops/on/off sales. the regional mall is only 2 miles away and the best golf courses (public) in all of Minneapolis 5 miles away (Rush Creek GC). 1 mile to 494/394 which is the freeway circling the city. 20 minutes to the International airport (MSP). this location is beautiful during the month of September for fall colors and great weather. Its a 4 bedroom house with great views over the lake and a quiet street. Boating docks for your rental pontoon or other speed boats you may want to rent. Howard's Point rents the boats, or rent from individual owner for 50% less.
