Fun week
House was just what we needed.were back in lake mills visiting family, house had washer and dryer, hot water for showers, and plenty of dishes and everything that we used worked

Unfortunately, this was a very unsettling stay. The first night, after midnight, someone came to the door and pounded aggressively enough that the door shook. We were staying alone and felt very unsafe. When we tried to secure the home, we found that multiple windows would not lock, and the front door had a keyed lock that guests did not have access to.The next evening, a tornado warning came through and the power went out. We could not find emergency information in the home, including what county we were in, what local channel to monitor, or what to do. We also could not find flashlights, candles, matches, a radio, or basic power-outage supplies. We ended up in the basement with nearly dead phones, hearing sirens and not knowing what was happening.We left as early as possible the next morning. This was not just a disappointing stay; it raised real safety and emergency-preparedness concerns.

We take the safety and comfort of our guests very seriously and deeply regret that this stay was so unsettling due to these unexpected events. When we were notified of a disturbance late at night, we immediately coordinated with local law enforcement to perform a safety check out of an abundance of caution. We have since performed a thorough maintenance walkthrough to verify that all windows lock securely and easily. Regarding the severe weather, we are glad the basement provided a secure shelter, and we have since updated our emergency preparedness resources with additional supplies like flashlights and a battery-operated radio for future visitors. We take great pride in our property standards and appreciate this feedback as we continue to optimize our guest experience.

Cute place for a wedding weekend!
We really enjoyed our time here! We were in town for a wedding (Farm Girl Weddings, only 10 min away) and it was conveniently located, especially being up the street from a well-stocked Dollar General. Very clean and had all the linens you'd need, as well as generous snacks and little waters in the fridge. The kitchen had most of the tools and utensils we needed besides pan lids (which we might've just missed). There are a few spices and condiments which were helpful for cooking. The neighborhood is quiet! Lots of curtains for privacy. There were some noises in the basement from furnace or water heater I could hear in the first floor bedroom, nothing ear plugs couldn't block though. Just be aware it may sound like someone is shutting a door every once in a while (it is not a ghost {probably}). Parking was convenient and right next to the door. Stairs to the 2nd floor were very steep, so having an additional bedroom on the 1st floor was very accessible for disabled or elderly guests. Nice TV, good wifi, cold AC, comfy beds, decent bathroom lighting for getting ready. Reasonable chores to do before check-out. Would stay again!
