The Space:

A stunning luxury waterfront home on Lake Ōkareka - one of our favourites - with panoramic views across the lake from almost every room. The house is designed around the view, with the open-plan living, dining and kitchen on the ground floor opening out to the lake. A sprawling lawn runs all the way down to the water, where you'll find your own private jetty - jump in for a swim, moor the boat after a day's fishing, or head out in the kayaks. After a dip, warm up in the spa pool, which looks out over the lake and has its own outdoor hot shower to rinse off. There are two decks to choose from, including a covered one for cooler evenings.

Bedroom 1 (Master): Super king bed (upstairs)

Sleeps 8 in total. All bedding and linen supplied.



- BATHROOMS -

Two full bathrooms - one on the ground floor and one upstairs (shared by the master and Bedroom 4).



- LIVING AREA -

Open-plan living, dining and kitchen on the ground floor, all designed around the lake view and opening out to the garden and decks.



- PARKING -

Free parking on-site (the driveway and parking are shared with a separate neighbouring dwelling).



Guest Access:

You'll have the whole house and its garden, jetty and spa pool to yourselves. There's a separate dwelling on the other side of the property that may also be let - it's quite private from The Bach, with only the driveway and parking shared. Free parking is on-site.



The Neighborhood:

Lake Ōkareka is a beautiful, peaceful lake about 15 to 17 minutes' drive from central Rotorua - a lovely spot for swimming, fishing and getting out on the water, so bring the boat if you have one. Blue Lake (Tikitapu) is only about 4 minutes away, the Redwoods around 13, and the city centre, geothermal attractions and Polynesian Spa roughly 17 to 18 minutes. It's a tranquil lakeside base, a world away but still handy to town.



Getting Around:

We recommend having your own vehicle out here, and there's free on-site parking; Ubers and taxis are also available. By car, Blue Lake is about 4 minutes away, the Redwoods around 13, and central Rotorua, the airport and Polynesian Spa roughly 17 to 19 minutes.



Other Things to Note:

Please note the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms have no handrail. Babies not yet walking and school-age children are generally fine with supervision, but for safety reasons the house isn't suitable for toddlers up to around 5 years - please keep this in mind when booking. The spa pool has an outdoor hot shower alongside it. Much of the calendar is closed due to local council restrictions, so if your dates aren't showing as available, please get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
