responsible for damages.
**TRASH AND RECYCLING** : Please take out the trash on Wednesday evenings for
Thursday pick-up, then pull the bins back into the garage after pick-up on
Thursdays. We appreciate your help in separating recyclables, which are picked
up every other week. This small step makes a big difference for the planet and
will help us avoid a fine. The bins are located inside the garage. Just push
the button inside the garage to open and close the garage door, **being
mindful not to park too close to the garage door as it opens FORWARD, not
up!** Any damage is the guest’s responsibility.
**AIR CONDITIONER AND HEATER:** We have a Nest thermostat. Please make
yourself comfortable! Note that it automatically resets to default settings
every Sunday to help control utility bills. If you’d like to change the
temperature back to whatever you prefer, feel free!
**FUN STUFF:** On occasion, the homeowners have access to tickets to local
events, such as Badger games. If you’d like the homeowners to connect you to
the people selling tickets when they come up, please let us know!
**COOKING/BAKING** : Despite the humorous sign that says the kitchen is for
display only, please feel free to enjoy home-cooked meals! Note: **please use
only the microwave function on the microwave** , not the oven function. If you
need the oven, please use the standard oven below the cooktop stove.
**No parties of any kind,** or excessively loud music at any time, indoors or
outdoors. If you’d like to meet with other people beyond those listed on the
reservation, kindly choose a location outside the home (local restaurants,
coffee or ice cream shops, the Memorial Union Terrace, the local lakes and
parks, etc.). Parties or events are not permitted without prior written
approval.
**Quiet Hours:** Keeping noise levels down helps maintain a good relationship
with our community and avoids you experiencing any neighbor complaints. Kindly
observe quiet hours between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.
**Television** : When you turn on the television, it will prompt you to enter
your checkout date. Please enter the correct date so future guests do not have
access to your preferences or payment options for purchases you’ve made, if
any. Standard channels are included and will be visible to you. If you want to
use any premium channels or services, simply log in with any credentials you
may use elsewhere on those apps/services, or create an account for whatever
additional services you want, as necessary (including your own personal
billing information).
**Smoke-Free Stay:** Our home is a strict no-smoking zone (including
vaping/e-cigarettes), which helps us maintain a fresh environment. A minimum
of a $500 fee will be assessed if violated.
**No Underage Drinking or Illegal Substances:** Use of illegal drugs or
underage drinking on the property is strictly prohibited.
**Mail:** Please avoid having mail sent to the house, as the post office
automatically forwards mail to the owners. Instead, consider getting a P.O.
Box and picking up packages from alternate locations (for example, Amazon is
often willing to have you pick up from an Amazon locker at the local Whole
Foods store or other nearby locations, the UPS Store, etc.). The owners are
unable to return deliveries to you.
**No Extra Guests:** The maximum number of overnight guests is defined by your
booking agreement with us. Please contact us in advance if you'd like to have
any daytime visitors—small, respectful gatherings are usually fine, but we
must be notified ahead of time for insurance and neighborhood courtesy
reasons.
**Surveillance Disclosure:** Exterior-only security cameras are in place for
your safety and to ensure compliance with occupancy rules.
**Pet Policy:** As much as we love them, we're strictly a pet-free home due to
severe allergies, which includes animals of all types. Unauthorized pets, even
if just visiting temporarily, will result in additional fees.
**Supplies provided:** To make your stay comfortable and give you less to
think about when you first arrive, we've provided travel-size shampoo,
conditioner, and body wash. We've also provided a starter pack of dishwasher
soap and pods, coffee, and oatmeal. PLUS, to help keep our home as scent-free
as possible due to allergies to fragrances, we've provided you with ample
laundry detergent, dryer balls, and soap.
**Snow removal:** Not to worry – we have a company that takes care of it for
you! Please exercise caution if they haven’t arrived yet (hosts are not
responsible for others’ falls, etc.), but the snow removal company is
typically quite on top of it. Sometimes the neighbor kids even show up with a
random act of kindness and clear the walkways and driveway when it isn’t
blocked.
**Washer and dryer:** The washer and dryer are available for your use during
your stay. They’re in the basement. Everything you are likely to need to do
laundry will be in the laundry room. Hangers are available in the bedroom
closets.
**Dehumidifier in the upstairs bath:** The large gray contraption in the
master (upstairs) bath between the sink and toilet is a dehumidifier. Please
do not move the hose or disconnect it (it empties into the sink). To help
avoid moisture problems, please make sure the dehumidifier is on before
showering and make sure to run it for at least 15 minutes after showering. If
it isn’t used and moisture becomes a problem, renter may be responsible for
the cost of mitigation and repainting.
**Furniture and other belongings:** All furniture and other belongings must
remain indoors and in their original location, and in the new condition in
which it was when you entered the home. Do not move furniture or wall
hangings. This can damage floors, walls, and fixtures.
**No confetti, glitter, open flames/candles/lighters, incense or similar, or
scented plug-ins** : Decorations like confetti, glitter, or candles are not
allowed due to cleanup costs and fire risk. We are also an allergy-sensitive
property and damages will be assessed if there is evidence or use of any of
these things (smell or otherwise).
**General cleaning:** Please keep the home clean. Guests will be charged
additional fees, at the discretion of the owner, for any damage, stains,
missing items, or excessive cleaning required after checkout.

for some odd reasons utility costs exceed $400 for the month, the owner may
bill back the renter for excess usage.
**Use of the yard and all outdoor areas:** We’ve recently had landscaping done

take root and thrive. Aside from that, guests may use the yard and outdoor
areas at their own risk. Please note that surfaces may be uneven, and natural
elements such as loose stones or muddy areas can be slippery, especially when
wet.
**No climbing or rough play:** Climbing trees, fences, or structures is not
allowed. Please avoid rough play or running in the yard to prevent injuries
and protect landscaping.
**Supervise children at all times:** Children must be supervised at all times
while in the yard or outdoor areas. This property is not child-proof and may
contain natural hazards.
**No fire pits or open flames:** Use of fire pits, outdoor candles, fireworks,
