We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have been happier with this rental. The location was exactly as advertised—perfectly balanced between city convenience and beach relaxation. It was a quick and easy trip into the city whenever we wanted to explore, while still offering the peaceful option of spending entire days at the beach.The amenities truly made the stay special. Having a beach umbrella and beach chair available was a thoughtful touch that made our beach days even more enjoyable. Inside, the fully functional kitchen had everything we needed, and the lovely sunroom quickly became a favorite spot for relaxed afternoon lunches and downtime together for our 3 person family.Overall, this home was comfortable, well-equipped, and ideally located. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a seamless mix of city access and beachside living.

What's not to like. Beach front/shopping/restaurants/cafes

There's nothing quite like being able to wake up in the morning and watch the waves breaking on the shoreline with your first cup of coffee for the day. enjoyable stay, beach walks- super shopping restaurants and cafes/bars on your doorstep.

Fantastic Location

This was our 2nd stay here. We absolutely love this property. It's in a great location, direct access to the beach and within easy reach of some of the most beautiful beaches on this shore. Unfortunately I did drop a star this time as the place could have been a little cleaner but still a great property.

Fantastic location

Enjoyed our week long stay. Comfortable apartment. Comfortable bed and lovely decor. Easy access to shops and restaurants. Friendly neighbours. Had great weather. Lovely being able to step out on the beach for a walk. Hopefully we will be back soon in NZ and would love to stay there again.

Very well appointed and comfortable apartment everything that we needed. We just loved the short few steps to the beach and 10 minute walk to the Milford shopping centre. No road noise.

Great house, great location

We had a really nice stay! Really fun to just walk out the door to the beach. Had some issues with check-in and communication but I think those were due to my phone/internet service rather than the owner - when we were able to reach her it was easy-peasy.

On the Beach Milford

This apartment was perfect for visiting family in Auckland. Apartment was very clean and beds were comfortable and had everything we required. 10 second walk to the beach was exhausting! Milford shops are about 10 mins walk. Would definitely book again.

Nice apartment in nice area

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It is well situated outside of Auckland but it’s easy to get to the city if that’s what you want to do. We spent most of our time heading north to west where the scenery is great. The apartment is exactly as it’s portrayed in the photos, is very clean and has everything you would want for a short stay. There is assigned parking right next to it but if you have a midsize car or larger don’t bother as it’s too tight, just use the ample parking on the street.

The property was very comfortable if you are not staying along time It is well equipped for a short stay if you don’t intend to do a lot of cooking. The kitchen is very basics .the bedding is excellent. our stay was 3 weeks . Some of the furniture is starting to show its age . There is an ant problem and a can of raid is not going to fix the problem. location to shopping is great and beach access very good You are not ocean front but do have a side view of the ocean Thanks

Not as expected

An outer photo of the property should be included. Had I known the building looked the way it did, I would have simply kept scrolling. Upon check-in, which was actually set up well, the place had a musty odour but appeared clean. Outdated. The wifi would not connect to my laptop when the reason I was in NZ was for work and was stated when booking. The beach in front was packed and loud. Dogs barking, we could hear every move the people upstairs made. It was unbearable as I had work that needed to be done. The ad stated “relaxed” but it was not even near relaxing with the noise. The last straw was the ant-infestation and I have photos of them all over the bathroom floor. I used my time to book and pay for another rental far from that area. All the property said was no refund is available and touch the top of the router to make it work (it did not). It was a relief to leave as fast as possible. Do not book if you want to relax or work, this is not the place for you.

It’s all about the location

We stayed here twice in March & April. We liked it. The flat is quite commodious with 2 bedrooms, a pleasant living area and functional kitchen. The washing machine & dryer are in an adjacent outside cupboard (actually good as the noise is distant). There is a glass sunroom/dining area off the living room with magical views to the beach/sea. The apartment has a ‘nice’ feel. It is 10 metres from the beach, 5 minutes from the nearest bus stop and 10 minutes to Milford shopping centre/high street. You can walk to Takapuna in 25/30 minutes. Milford and Takapuna are, it appears, amongst the more affluent areas of north Auckland with an abundance of eateries and cafes. The apartment is the middle downstairs one in a block of 6 and as you approach it, down a sort of long drive/path off Craig Rd, you’ll probably be underwhelmed - don’t worry it’s better on the inside and the views at ‘the back’ to the beach/sea will enable you to quickly forget the ‘front’ where you look out on the parking spaces. Also, there is a flat above this and the plumbing can be noisy. There is mention in other comments about ants; there are ant nests outside but there is no infestation inside and the obvious advice is not to leave food out anywhere or they will come in for it. But, these were minor things and we really enjoyed our 5 weeks there - how could you not? Wake up, breakfast, walk barefoot along a stunning beach, swim, generally chill and then take off and see stuff.

Ants, Ants, Ants and Manager who was untruthful

When we arrived at the property we saw that much of the furniture was old and battered. We also discovered ants in several rooms and in the cutlery drawer. We asked to have it sprayed. She arrived in the morning, and sprayed for ants. Two days later when the ants got worse, she claimed that we didn't have ants and did nothing further to remedy the ant problems. So we took pictures.. . Also, before we made our final payment, we pointed out that we were being overcharged by $1020.00. She agreed but said it was a VRBO error. She said to pay it to VRBO who would refund it. Her story then changed and she said VRBO would refund us when we took possession of the Apt. She next said to check our account to see if VRBO refunded us. Then she said that she was waiting to receive payment from VRBO and that she'd then refund us directly by sending the $1020.00 to our account. We sent our account info and she said she would not send money to our home in the United States so we should find someone with an account in New Zealand for her to send the funds to. We did so and finally received the funds. . . Then, New Zealand had its biggest cyclone in 100 years and the government said to evacuate beach areas. We did so and came back after 3 days. We came back to even more ants. We couldn't stand the ants and finally moved out early and asked for a refund for the 3 days of cyclone and 4 days for early departure due to ants. She refused to refund us saying the policy was NO REFUNDS.
