The Space:

Thompsons Lookout by Stay Waiheke is a modern, peaceful hideaway designed around views, sunlight, and relaxed indoor–outdoor living.



The main living area is warm and inviting, with soft textures, curated décor, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing the sea. A full kitchen makes cooking easy, whether it’s a slow breakfast before a day of exploring or dinner enjoyed on the deck as the sun sets.



The generous outdoor spaces include multiple seating and dining areas, sun loungers, and a sheltered corner for morning coffee. From here, the outlook stretches across Enclosure Bay, the surrounding headlands, and deep blue water.



The bedroom features a super king bed and a calm, coastal aesthetic, while the modern bathroom includes a walk-in shower, quality fittings, and thoughtful lighting. This is a space designed for comfort, rest, and uninterrupted time together.

Thompsons Lookout is an adult-only property and unsuitable for children.



Guest Access:

Guests have full private access to the entire home, outdoor living areas, and onsite parking.

Check-in is from 2:00pm and check-out is 10:30am.



Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a small fee when there is no same-day turnaround.



The Neighborhood:

Thompsons Lookout sits moments from two of Waiheke’s most-loved swimming spots, Enclosure Bay and Sandy Bay, both just a 5–10 minute walk away.



The area is quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by native bush, coastal tracks, and elevated sea views. Oneroa Village, local shops, boutique cafés, and major vineyards are all within a short drive. When nearby, The Heke Brewery & Distillery is a great stop for craft beer, island-made spirits, and relaxed dining.



This is a beautiful base for long beach days, coastal walks, good food, and easy island living.



Getting Around:

Buses run from the nearby Onetangi–Oneroa route, stopping at major wineries including Tantalus, Stonyridge, Te Motu, Obsidian, Casita Miro, and The Heke, before continuing into Oneroa Village and on to the passenger ferry terminal.



A car is recommended for exploring the island, but taxi and rideshare services are available. Parking is provided at the property.



Other Things to Note:

Thompsons Lookout is not suitable for children.

Bookings at this property are for adults only.



This home is on rainwater supply, so guests are asked to be mindful of water use.



Minimum stays:

5 nights mid-December to mid-January

3 nights on public holiday weekends

2 nights at all other times
