Creating unforgettable memories will be effortless at this 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom beach house located in the West Beach area of Gulf Shores, Alabama! Seated directly on the lagoon and only a short walk across the road from the beach, you'll enjoy beach life at its finest when you stay in West Side Cottage, Unit R!

West Side Cottages “Unit R” is a newly constructed, luxurious beach house waiting to welcome you with 1,440 sq ft of living space, granite counter tops and plank flooring throughout. Coastal decor, plenty of natural lighting, and contemporary design make this home an inviting space to spend your beach vacation in. With a fully equipped kitchen that includes stainless steel appliances, you'll find all you need for preparing delicious dinners and quick snacks during your stay. Love coffee? Drip-style coffee maker and Keurig, both are provided. In the living room, you'll be able to lounge and enjoy the Smart TV when you're not fishing on the pier or soaking up the sun at the beach. The patio features a sectional couch and two tall chairs with a table, perfect for enjoying morning or evening views of the sun while you enjoy your favorite drink and chat. There is ample space for everyone in your crew to rest up after each day's adventures, as well, with a total of 3 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa meaning this house accommodates up to 10 guests. Each bedroom has a Smart TV and a private, en-suite bathroom. The master bedroom features a plush king bed and the first guest bedroom features a cozy queen bed. In the third bedroom, you'll find a twin bunk bed with a slide out trundle bed, as well as another twin bed – making it a perfect room for kids! Aside from the private en-suite bathrooms, you'll find a fourth full bathroom on the same floor as the living room and kitchen. No bathroom waiting times or trouble getting ready when you stay here!

On top of the comfort and luxury provided by the cottage itself, you'll enjoy the benefits offered by the community it is located in. Being located directly on the lagoon means that you'll see beautiful sunsets in the evenings and you can enjoy catching a few fish on the pier located behind the house. There is an exclusive, resort style pool to make a splash in as well, with bathrooms! The public beach access is less than ¼ mile away and the lagoon pass beach located on the side is also a short walk down the paved boardwalk. Everything you'll need and want for a perfect beach getaway will be found here!

Whether you are looking for an adventurous or relaxing vacation, location is everything and our location lets you pick your own adventure! You are just minutes from every activity the island has to offer whether it's sport fishing on the Gulf, reading a book on the beach, parasailing, hiking the Backcountry Trails, shopping at numerous boutiques and souvenir stores, and only minutes away from the Wharf, the OWA Amusement Park and Entertainment Complex and Tanger Outlet Mall.

Other features of Gulf Shores include "The Hangout" home to the famous "Hangout Music Festival" where you get to listen to your favorite bands with your toes in the sand. Local eateries are so abundant that it will be a challenge to visit each one during a single vacation! * RENTAL AGREEMENT: Rental Agreement must be signed to receive Check-In Information.

* AGE RESTRICTION: Policy strictly enforced 25 years or older with renter 25 years old staying in unit. No refunds for anyone trying to rent that is not at least 25 years old.

* PARKING: MAXIMUM of 4 vehicles per reservation parked under the cottage, no exceptions - STRICTLY ENFORCED. U-hauls, trailers, boats, jet skis, buses, etc. are not allowed on property.

* WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: While all Sands of Alabama rental units are set up for normal housekeeping, the properties will NOT have cleaning products or toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags and soaps intended to last for the duration of your stay. Each rental property is furnished with a STARTER SET of paper products for your first night. This set includes one roll of paper towels, a small bottle of liquid dish soap, one powder dishwashing packet, one can liner per trash can, one travel size hand soap and body soap per bathroom and one roll of bathroom tissue in each bathroom. Please bring extras.

Beautiful View!!
We have stayed at this complex once before and picked this property because of it's view of the lagoon, and the view did not disappoint! This property was a little smaller than the other one we had stayed at before. While it is laid out well and has a good use of space, the walls are thin and you can hear everything inside and outside (the people on the porch next to us in the early morning sounded like they were in our room). This is not the fault of the property owner, but you might want to bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The decor is beautiful, but they need a new master bed (the whole thing creeks terribly when you get up and the mattress is lumpy), and the outdoor couch definitely needs new cushions. The kitchen is well stocked, but a Keurig would be have been nice to have since most properties do that now and there were no kitchen scissors that we could find. The main thing for us was smell in the property was not good (like some sort of cleaner to cover up smoking or moth balls), so much so that all of our stuff smells like it. We thought it would go away at first, by leaving the doors open to air it out, but every time we came back to the house it was still there. We didn't call management about this because it wasn't something that could be fixed and it wasn't going to ruin our trip, but I do want to mention it here so that it can be fixed for future guests. Overall, it was a good trip and we enjoyed the view and the close walk to the beach!

Very Nice Stay
I booked this property for myself, my husband, our two kids, my parents and my sister. We had a good stay! My only complaint is that, as travelers who usually stay in hotels, we were looking forward to having the washer and dryer to use for the week. However when I opened the door to the washer/dryer it smelled very musty/mildewy so we did not use it. This can't be helped but I'll also mention that these units are very very close to each other. We could easily hear the people next to us talking. Would have been nice if the porches were built with some sort of privacy screen on the sides. Other than that we had a good experience and I would come back! The bunk bed room was perfect for us and our two kids. My parents were very comfortable in the master and my sister in the queen bed. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived. I appreciated having a vacuum to clean up all the sand we tracked in every day. We started every morning sitting on the porch and enjoying the view of the lagoon. The beach was an easy 3 minute walk along the paved path that ran behind the community. The pool was also very easy to get to. We found a beach chair, a wagon and some pool toys in the carport. Above all the property manager was very responsive to any questions we had which put my mind at ease!

The house was just as the pictures looked. Great location as well just far enough down from the main area that you were surrounded by tourist. Management company was very quick with responses as well
