Some response was delayed. Lots of sand in the pathway which hadn’t been cleaned out. Parking was definitely a challenge for two full sized SUVs . No way were we comfortable parking in what was noted as two parking spaces.

An adorable home where you feel the ocean breeze. It had just enough space and the amenities were great. The beach area was probably the best part. Step right out onto the sand and have your coffee or tea overlooking the beach. A really lovely spot.

Amazing Location

It was our first time staying beach side and this little bungalow offered so much. You really can’t beat the location. Though in the more active area of the island, it was quiet and peaceful. The space was very cozy, perfect for two or ideal for a small family.

This property is amazing. The view is unparalleled. The kids played in the sand from sun up to sun down and our beach time wasn’t disturbed with baby/toddler nap time because we were right outside the whole time. We loved our stay!

Perfect getaway as always

This is our third year and we will be back next year again. Most fun beach and location. My teens love that there are shops to walk to and places to walk to get ice cream. With the sand bars constantly changing it's a new experience each year!

The views and beach are absolutely gorgeous! I was slightly taken aback that they expect you to bring your own sheets. We also had some difficulty figuring out how to get in, but eventually figured out to go through the back gate. Other than that we had a lovely time and enjoyed the rental!

Perfect location on Plum Island

You cannot beat this location and access to the beach. Right on the sand and walking distance to shops and restaurants. We were able to park and essentially not move the car the whole week. The unit has its quirks, such as the location of the bathroom inside the bunk room and older doors that are sticky, but it is very nicely decorated and easy to keep clean due to the size. Kitchen has all of the essentials and the outdoor space can’t be beat. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Last minute seaside getaway

The location is outstanding -- right on the beach and walking distance from a few restaurants and convenience shops. The condo is well-maintained. The very minor issues were the coffee maker (Keurig-like but not brand-name), which only worked about half of the time; including linens would have also simplified the rental.

Great Beach Stay

Our family had an amazing time in Plum Island. The views from the house were unbeatable, and we saw whales and a seal right from the porch! It would be helpful if the listing was clear regarding the need to bring your own linens. There was also not enough blankets for the trundle and pull out couch. Overall our stay was amazing! Tami was very communicative and accommodating.

Perfect spot for small family!

We found and booked this property for a last minute beach getaway. It was our first time to Plum Island, and we loved it! This house was the perfect location, with a private beach and sandy spot overlooking the ocean, which was fantastic for our almost 3 year old to play and watch the waves. She also loved sleeping up on the loft. The master looked right out at the ocean as well, which was lovely to wake up to the sound of the waves crashing. The house was walkable to several restaurants and ice cream. We stayed the last week of August, and it was so nice and quiet, like our own little private paradise.

Plum Island paradise

Location is perfect, comes with 2 parking spots & right across from a parking lot if extra guests visit. Private outdoor area is great and perfect to relax off of the beach with the kids but still be outside. When staying with kids or another couple it may be tricky accessing the bathroom and master bedroom since you need to go through the bedroom with the bunk bed (twin, full & trundle bed). The loft area you need to duck and stay low to access the additional full bed. Having access to a washer & dryer is a bonus with beach rentals, washer and dryer located outside of the house in the garage. Overall a great location, good communication and accessibility with the owner when needed. Would recommend.

Nice location

The bedroom setup is very miss leading. If I my adult children had come, there was no privacy in the bunk room or the loft. I would have to walk through the bunk room for the bathroom. The place is a little small to have 8 people stay. There is enough sleeping, but the couch is large enough for 3 and there are really only enough seating to eat for 5. The location was beautiful, but the house was good for maybe a small family.

The stay was great overall. When we entered the rental unit there was a lot of sand throughout, and the trash barrels were full and had not been taken to the curb (they had food items left in them so there were some maggots in the barrels, unfortunately). Aside from some trouble trying to fit our garbage into the barrel before the midweek pickup everything else was pretty smooth. Two things I would suggest is replacing the bug screen on the main sliding door, it’s a wonderful feature to have in order to enjoy the wonderful ocean breeze at night, however, the adhesive on the top of the doorframe and side does not seem to be sticking well any longer so there are gaps where bugs can come in. Lastly, the swinging bench on the porch looks lovely and many people have commented about it in the guest book, would have loved to have used it, but it looks like one of the main support rods on the bottom is broken and hanging so we did not want to sit on it and have it break, would be something that should be on the replacement list soon. Aside from those minor suggestions, we enjoyed our stay here, the unit was adorable, had all the amenities we needed and is in a wonderful location, beachfront and an easy walk to all conveniences. I have already sent the VRBO link to a few friends and would recommend it again! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Great location!

Great little place on the beach, perfect location to walk to a few restaurants and bars plus ice cream & a great little convenience store across the street! Family of 5 had a great time! If I had to give any suggestions for improvements, I would say perhaps a sectional for the living room would be extremely beneficial just due to the size of the place as it can be hard to hang out there with more than 4 people if weather is bad and you maybe want to watch a movie or play games. The bathroom situation was expected as other reviews indicated you have to walk thru the 2nd bedroom to get to the master or the bathroom but we dealt just fine-even with 3 men! ;P All in all, great place, very clean, thanks so much Tami for the place and your kindness!

Location

The location can’t be beat, but the rental needs some work. Most notably the walkways shown in the pictures are not usable, they are buried under at least 6 inches of sand. The walkways should be maintained weekly to avoid this. Walking through the sand with a child every time you leave the house is frustrating and unnecessary. The bed in the main bedroom also needs replacing. Otherwise this is a great rental with great location.

Needs work

The place a was a little difficult to find because the house numbers were low and blocked by a car parked in front, then walked between buildings and not sure if place was on right or left. Right had a fence with gate. Listing said it was a “3 bedroom”. Not so. You had to walk through bedroom with open loft bed to get to master bedroom. Bathroom was on bedroom with loft bedroom. Slightly uncomfortable if with another couple. The book in cottage guidelines said NO recycling. But barrel was outside. Night lights not working. Light switches were confusing to was it turned on. Laundry is NOT in cottage. Was outside the building with door that needed code. Could not find. Code and had to send a message. That was tough because messages on app that I ent took a week to get an answer. Found in book a number and sent a message, much quicker. Porch lights not working so replaced bulbs and worked. Faucet cold water handle kept moving around. No dish towels or dish strainer. No hand towels. We had cleaned A/C filters. Window facing rode was so dirty and made it difficult to e out. Master bedroom door would not shut. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Walkway between buildings to get to cottage is filling up with sand and the stairs going up to cottage. We still enjoyed our time. It is directly on beach.

great location, but i wouldnt come back

the location of this house is awesome -- steps to the ocean, short walk to convenience stores and restaurants, great view of the water. there are some things about it that i wish had been clearer, though. it's hard to tell from the pictures how small the house truly is, and that the one bathroom is in the room that has the bunk bed. the lofted area is also in that same room, and the room with the queen size bed is off of that so if you have to use the bathroom in the night, you run the risk of waking whoever is in the bunk bed/loft. there are 2 parking spots out front but theyre really tight. We had to pull the car out and park on the side of the road to get our 2 kids in and out of their car seats. that's all not so bad and easy to remedy if you're not bringing kids or they're good sleepers/older. However, there were some other issues with the upkeep of the house that would stop me from coming back, even without my kids. First, there was broken glass on the floor when we got there and my husband cut his foot. that had us stressed about how well the house was cleaned between rentals. The queen sized bed also had a sheet on it (you must bring your own linens and towels so i assume the people who rented it before us left it?) that was covered in sand and someone else's hair, so clearly hadn't been cleaned between people. that queen-sized bed also doesn't fit in the bed frame, so the foot of the mattress rests on top of the footboard and makes it so when you're asleep your head is lower than your feet. we just ended up sleeping with our heads on the wrong end (if you've ever slept on an uneven floor or a mattress pitched the wrong way you know that you feel pretty junky when you wake up, and that's no way to spend your vacation). I was planning to email the owners about the glass and the hair, but then we had a big rainstorm and the skylight in the kitchen started leaking. So I messaged Tami to let her know and she said she'd come by to check it out. I figured I'd just speak to her about the other issues in person, but no one ever came by. I got a message later that night saying sorry for not making it over and that they were scheduled to have the roof done, so she already knew it was an issue. You really can't beat the location but i've stayed in many rentals in tons of different areas of Plum Island over the last 20 years; there are better houses for the price, even if they're farther from the beach.

Rest assured I will be sure to speak with my cleaning company to pay closer attention to detail. We also replaced our roof with a metal roof in September 2022.
