The beach view was AMAZING, and the location in Crescent City was so convenient for exploring the Redwoods! We loved being able to hike in the forest in the mornings and enjoy the majestic ocean and rocky beaches in the evenings. We had quite a few foggy days, but when the sun broke through, it was radiant. We also loved keeping the windows cracked and the back sliding doors open to enjoy the breeze and fresh sea air.The house has lots of character, with little hidden compartments and cupboards. As others have mentioned, it’s a bit dated, but the brand-new gray leather recliner sectional was clean and comfy. The room with twin beds is very tiny, but it worked just fine for our younger boys. Our kids also enjoyed the beach toys and games. We did encounter several spiders who seemed to like the house, too! (My husband got pretty good at eliminating them. )The kitchen was well equipped with useful pots and pans, cooking spray, aluminum foil, and other essentials. We were especially thankful for the dryer after our outdoor adventures! (Tip: There are TWO dryers—the washer/dryer set is behind another door past the kitchen, which we didn’t notice at first.)Ed and Lee were wonderful hosts! An issue came up our first night, and they responded quickly and worked with us to get it resolved so we could enjoy the rest of our stay.Overall, we loved the location, the views, and the opportunity to enjoy both the Redwoods and the ocean during our stay!
