In Süd-Wales zwischen Swansea und Cardiff liegt direkt an der M4 ist es der ideale Ausgangspunkt, um die Süd-Wales Täler zu erkunden. Es hat eine Küstenlinie von ca. 5 Meilen mit schönen Sandstränden und felsigen Strand bei Southerndown.

Seine Strände sind berühmt für Surfen, Windsurfen und Skateboarden. Der Strand von Porthcawl behält traditionelle Strand Reize wie Eselreiten und einem Jahrmarkt whist der Promenade beherbergt viele Eisdielen und Cafés. Porthcawl ist in der lokalen Geschichte und das Museum durchtränkt und Historical Society hat viele faszinierende Ausstellungen und Informationen über die Gegend. Es ist auf John Street, der Haupt throughfair von Porthcawl entfernt.

Family holiday

It was our second year at this property and it didn't disappoint. It's proximity to Coney Beach and the Fair and Arcade is perfect for the family. With a fully furnished and equipped property with off street parking it's a great place to stay in South Wales.

So close to the beach

I think it is fair to say that the property could do with a bit of TLC to update it a bit, but it had everything we needed. My 5 yr old and 7 yr old boys loved it and we were lucky enough to spend every day at the beach. It was a perfect location for us and once we had parked up we didn't need to use the car again as town and the park is such a short walk.

The house was built in 1906 and I have retained as much as possible of the original skirting boards etc. I have no doubt the house needs a fresh coat of paint and it was all planned until the COVID lockdown. I can assure you it will be attended to this year. Actually looking forward to getting it done.

Nice beach adjacent alternative to a caravan

While this bungalow is a bit rough around the edges and by no means a high end rental, it does represent good value for its size and proximity to the fair/beach. More ideally suited as a base rather than somewhere to spend all your time at but it was perfect for us as we were coming 'back home' to visit family. With a bit of effort from the owners the back yard could be somewhere really nice to while away the evenings but currently it looks a bit depressing and unwelcoming.

Hi Colleen Thank you very much for your comments. They are much appriciated. External maintainance is somewhat curtailed due to Covid so i agree re the rear yard. But you will be pleased to know plans are in place to upgrade it. We do try to keep the character of a house built in 1908.

Porthcawl

The location of this property was perfect for us. We parked on the drive and only used the car a few times. We walked from the property to the local Aldi and to the town centre. At the end of the road is a beautiful sandy beach, the best we found actually, there were lifeguards at the time of our visit. It was perfect for playing or surfing. The bungalow itself was clean and spacious for us, it had everything you would need including a washing machine and dryer. Some of the exterior steps are uneven and it is quite a climb up the ramp at the front, so probably not good for anyone with mobility issues. Coney beach is almost opposite and i found the music quite soothing, it was nice to have the background noise in the garden, it was very quiet otherwise! We all slept well. Malcolm was on call if we needed him and Dave was only an email away. I would definitely visit again, fantastic location for my family

Great location.

We were greeted warmly by Malcom who looks after the property. He was very friendly snd really helpful as was the actual host Dave by email before snd during our stay. The property is in a Grady location just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. It is right next to the fair so you can hear the music but once inside would not know it was there. All the neighbours were also friendly and made us feel very welcome. We used it as a base as we were visiting with my dad who was born in Porthcawl. The location is perfect walking distance to several beaches, the town and easy drive to Newton and Nottage. Great also for exploring further a field. The bungalow was clean and well supplied with all we needed including a washing machine which is essential when you have children and are at the beach. A great place to stay, we would definitely return.

Lovely bungalow

It's in a great location very spacious inside it could do with abit of an upgrade, would recommend to people and would definitely book again we usually book trecco bay but would definitely look to see if this was available it's handy having a washer, dryer and washing line while you have children.

Close to Beach

Although some refurbishment would help, overall we found the property good for taking children to. It is close to the beach and is fairly well equipped. The steps to the property are quite steep, so it is a bungalow but it would not be suitable for anyone with poor mobility. There is a washing machine and separate tumble drier and thoughtful things like a windbreak, buckets and spade were available to use.

Mackworth Rd stay

Bungalow very practical being close to beach and amenities - especially fun fair-and had quite adequate accommodation. Downside was low standard of cleanliness and under developed space at back. We understand that work will be done in Autumn 2021.

Hi Jill. Yes the laneway at the back is a communal right of way so I am limited in what I can do with it. And yes there is discussions around making it more accessible. If you could let me know where the the cleanliness was substandard I will guarantee to address it. All comments greatly appriciated.

Perfect location for the beach

We had an amazing stay. Perfect location for surfing and swimming. Also short distance for great walks and other activities. The property has pretty much all you need. Garden could do with an upgrade tho 😊

Stay in Porthcawl

Property was clean and had all the facilities that we needed for our stay. Outside space was limited but the beach was only meters away. I grew up in Porthcawl so was there to visit family and this was a good base to do that. As always the surfing and surf school in rest bay were great.

Good base to explore Porthcawl & Gower

This property is adequate for a family of 4 with teenagers, with sufficient essentials and reasonable living space. In need of some TLC & updating in parts (especially Back yard). Close proximity to beachfront, arcades and funfair - short walk to quieter end & would recommend exploring further round coast: Great sunset point on way to lovely Rest Bay: A good 8mile walk to Ogmore-by-sea. We ventured out daily & recommend going to beautiful scenery and beaches at Rhosili,Oxwich, Mumbles, Swansea bay & further to the Blue Lagoon.

Short break

Exactly what we wanted and where we wanted. All 6 of us aged 12 to 86 had a great few days in a comfortable property, minutes from the beach.

Very nice bungalow in Porthcawl.

The property is very well equipped for a family, plenty of linen, crockery etc. Managing agent very helpful, awaiting our arrival & if any problems throughout the holiday, was a phone call away. Situated 5 minutes walk from beautiful beach ideal for bucket & spade holidays. Porthcawl itself just 20 minutes stroll, plenty of fooderies & pubs. Elvis weekend was quite an experience,enjoyed every moment.

Great location for a family holidy

Really nice property, Deceptively large inside. within 5 mins of a stunning beach and a fair right outside but the double glazing keeps the property nice and quite. Owner was really welcoming and showed us round and how all things worked. Great weekend and will be booking again.
