Enjoy the entire main floor of our lake home with a separate entrance, total privacy and memorable views of beautiful Black Hawk Lake. Full kitchen, with new refrigerator, new washer and dryer, and fireplace. Well lit and convenient parking. Two patios, both with lake views. Great fishing and boating. Lake View has several great eating establishments and a very nice downtown. We boast having Iowa's first lake to lake 34 mi bicycle trail. Enjoy our Weber grill and an evening lakeside fire. Join the hosts for a scenic and comfortable pontoon boat ride around beautiful Black Hawk lake!

Wonderful setting and very well appointed living quarters. Hosts were wonderful and super helpful. Lakeview has really become a wonderful destination. We will be back as hope to stay here again. Highly recommend this place and the hosts.

Spacious 1 bedroom w/great view of the lake

Location was close to town and made access to water carnival events easy. So nice to be on the lake. Jerry and Janine are very hospitable, couldn't be nicer.

Quick but great stay!

We booked for the weekend to join a very large group in Lakeview for boating and the Sip & Sample event! The owners were so kind and welcoming and the rental was spotlessly clean and well appointed for every need! We had coffee out on the patio in the mornings and enjoyed the absolutely gorgeous view of the lake! We would 100% book here again!

Great getaway!

Stayed 4 days and three nights enjoying the beautiful lake. House was comfortable and hosts very friendly and helpful. Boat rides were a highlight. Cute little shops and bars to visit. Last night we enjoyed a campfire. So peaceful! We will be back to see Jerry and Janine again:)

I loved this property! It was beautiful. The description is accurate and I cannot say enough about the accommodations. They thought of EVERYTHING to make you feel at home-linens, decor, bathroom soaps, kitchen supplies, extra blankets for sitting on the couch, a fan in the bedroom. Jerry gave us a 1.5 hour tour of the homes on the lake on the pontoon boat. Lake View is a neat town to visit and the drive around the lake is beautiful. Highly recommended!

Holy wind

Short 2 day getaway to unwind was much needed. Jerry and Janine were super nice hosts with clean and comfortable accommodations. They offered us a boat ride around the lake, but unfortunately there were very high winds all weekend so we were unable to. They also offered fishing poles and bicycles to use as well as recommending some good restaurants to try. Highly recommended.

Never Felt More Welcome

Jerry and Janine are incredible hosts. We felt welcome and appreciated with every interaction with them, whether by phone, text, or in person. It was a nice night for a fire and they had one going in the fire ring. They invited us to join but weren't pushy at all when we wanted to just go back to our accommodations. Instead, Jerry offered to put another log on the fire in case we wanted to come out by the fire later by ourselves. They were very generous with their time. We took them up on their offer to cruise the lake on their pontoon. I hadn't been on the lake in many years so that meant a lot. What meant even more is we planned to meet up with some of my relatives and Jerry welcomed them on his boat as well. Due to car trouble, my guests were a bit late, but Jerry and Janine took it in stride. Even if Jerry and Janine weren't great, the rental would be worth putting up with a little crap, lol. Very clean with everything you need. Besides the queen bed, there's lots of other mattresses tucked away in the day bed and sofa. With access to the gas grill and a kitchen complete with range and spices and condiments, there's literally nothing stopping you from picking up some food and cooking it right at the rental. And the view! If you're looking for that lakeside experience, this is it. Our stay was a great! Thanks, Jerry and Janine!

Nice, but not what we were expecting

Homeowners were absolutely great. They were kind and courteous. Would suggest it be listed in the main description that: 1) You're sharing this house. And it's the bottom level 2) The lake is across the road and the doc is shared and the pontoon is for ride along only. 3) Cannot park at the house itself 4) If you bring your own boat the lake has boulders that are NOT marked. Otherwise it was cute, clean, and fun. We found these details layer under other tabs.

We are so sorry you were unhappy with your visit to Black Hawk Lake/Lake View/Cozy Lakeside Retreat. We were not aware you were bringing a boat until I contacted you due to your later arrival and you had experienced a boat trailer tire blow out. We were concerned you were having safe travels. With the unfortunate lack of rain, our lake is low, as well as most of Iowa, but hopefully all will improve before next spring. We would love to have both of back......Janine and Jerry

Great spot with excellent hosts

Loved our quick little lakeside getaway. Jerry was very quick to respond to my questions and the place was just a described. Centrally located to the bike trail and the winery, which i highly recommended!

Exceeded expectations

Owner’s were great about answering all my questions before and during my stay. Made arrangements for me to arrive late at night. Mentioned a few times to me to please ask if there was anything at all they could do for us. Asked for and was offered bikes to rent for Sauk Rail Trail. Pontoon boat ride was amazing! Clean comfortable cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed. Owner’s provided disinfectant’s and cleaning supplies. There is satellite T.V. as well and a gas barbecue. All we needed to take was food. We highly recommend and would definitely stay at this property again! Thanks Jerry and Janine we will be back!
