Charming three-room apartment in the heart of Paris
This apartment is located ten minutes walk from Père Lachaise, fifteen minutes walk from the Place de la République, 25 minutes walk from the Marais… Ideally located, it will allow you to easily reach all areas of Paris: by metro, bus or bike.
This is my main residence. When they live there, my friends tell me that they feel at home. The area is lively but the apartment itself is very quiet. I wanted to make it a warm, easy-going and peaceful place. It has a bohemian and cosy feel… I make it available to holidaymakers during the summer and during the year, at the rate of 7 days minimum rental, which allows me to ensure the best arrivals and departures.
It is located on the third floor without elevator and overlooks two courtyards, one of which is wooded. In the morning and evening, you can hear the chirping of the birds. It consists of three rooms, in addition to a small bathroom.
The central room – open kitchen and reading area:
- It consists of an open kitchen, a bar area where you can eat together, a large dining table for family meals, a reading area with armchair and library. As you can guess from the photos, it is a bright and cheerful room. Two large windows with wooden venetian blinds open onto the large courtyard of the building.
- The kitchen is not high-tech but leaves enough to prepare good meals. You will find: four gas hobs, a small electric oven, and household robots: a juice extractor, a steamer, a rice cooker, a food processor to grate/ mince vegetables, a seed mill.
- A long buffet ensures the storage of dishes: plates, dishes, salad bowls, cutlery. You also find bowls, an electronic scale under the gas plates.
I can put at your disposal an apron and tea towels.
- The photos show a blue armchair near a library; to be able to converse quietly with two, or to be able to breathe after the visits of the day, or well after dinner, you will find in the entrance a folding chaise longue – to complete this corner reading and rest.
The master bedroom:
It is from this central room that we access the main bedroom. It also overlooks the large courtyard of the building. I decorated it in blue tones.
It measures approximately 12m2 and includes: a double bed for two people (1m40 by 2m); a cabinet and dresser; a library with books and DVDs; an office… It’s a good place to sleep and rest.
The wardrobe is at your disposal to store your belongings as well as the first drawer of the dresser, my own belongings occupying the rest of the drawers.
The TV station allows to watch movies on DVD but I do not have a subscription to the TV. A cable allows you to connect your laptop to watch the programs of your choice.
The WIFI box is located in the office – with all the codes available to use the WIFI for free.
The office room:
I named it that because it is in this room that I usually work. It is accessed from the entrance; It’s attached to the bathroom.
This room overlooks a tree-lined courtyard – which gives a bit of freshness in summer. Very quiet, very peaceful, it is very comfortable to rest, work, play piano (except at night, not to disturb the neighbors ☺)
You will find: a large sofa that also serves as a bed, a large library running on two walls, a desk, the WIFI box, an electric piano (Clavinova brand).
The sofa bed is larger than a single bed but smaller than a classic double bed: it measures 1m20 by 2m. It can accommodate an adult, two adults who like to sleep against each other or one to two children. A large green trunk adjoining the bed can store duvets and linen. You can arrange this corner as you wish: either as a sofa corner, or as a corner bed.
The bathroom:
This is a small bathroom. It measures about 4m2. It has: a shower, a sink, a toilet, a radiator connected to the central system of the apartment (which lends it a comfortable temperature in winter). The radiator serves as a towel rack in summer.
Under the sink you will find a small locker to put your toiletries.
Note: the shower curtain is important to avoid water overflowing on the ground (or ending at the neighbors).
A word on the entry:
This entrance distributes the bathroom, the bedroom-office, the living room.
You can leave your coats and shoes there.
Practical aspects:
The washing machine is located under the kitchen worktop. This is a Mièle brand washing machine, easy to program.
The vacuum cleaner is located under the kitchen sink (behind the green curtains shown in the photos). You will find in the same place on your left the stock of household products.
The broom and broom are stored in the bathroom to the left of the toilet.
Environment – Shopping and Dining:
A supermarket adjoins the building, ideal for shopping.
To eat organic, I recommend the Bio C Bon, 142 rue Saint-Maur.
For shopping at discount prices: le Lidl, 83 rue Saint-Maur
For lunch and dinner, you will find very good restaurants at all prices between numbers 40 and 60 of rue Saint-Maur. A very good Chinese restaurant is also located just at the bottom of the building.
As you will have understood, all these amenities are just a stone’s throw away! What make your stay easy and convenient and I hope, the most pleasant.
Visiting Paris, getting around the city:
As mentioned in the introduction, my apartment is ideal to easily reach all areas of Paris, whether on foot, by metro, bus or bike.
On foot, you are 35 minutes walk from Notre Dame and the banks of the Seine, 25 minutes walk from the Place de la Bastille, 30 minutes walk from the City Hall, 20 minutes walk from the Marais, 25 minutes walk from the Parc des Buttes Chaumont…
In addition, the apartment is 4 minutes walk from 4 metro stations: Parmentier, Rue Saint-Maur, Couronnes and Ménilmontant… You will be spoilt for choice! Ditto for bus stations or Vélib stations. You will also find in the neighborhood many repairers who rent bikes. I note here an address: Mon beau vélo, 7 rue Saint-Maur.
Length of stay:
I rent for a minimum of 7 nights - which allows me to organize myself to welcome you at best.
For stays of more than a week, I offer decreasing rates and we can talk about it.
A final word about the neighbourhood and my apartment:
The 11th district has always been an artist and popular district. During the Revolution, it was the neighborhood of barricades - it became the neighborhood of artists and bourgeois-bohemians.
My apartment is a place that lived; when I moved in 2007, I patiently redone it by myself... I knocked down one of the walls of the kitchen, arranged the bar area, stripped the parquet floor... In 2019, there was some restoration work that damaged one of the walls of the office - which I have not yet had the opportunity to refurbish... I tend to think that these small flaws also make the charm of the apartment. The charm of the old! I prefer to warn travelers beforehand... because if you like perfectly smooth and new places, then my apartment will not suit. If you like poetic and typically Parisian places, then do not hesitate to contact me... because you will have any place to spend a beautiful moment in this apartment.
