We respect our guests' privacy and aim to provide a seamless, independent stay. We will not be present on the property during your visit but are readily available via the messaging app should you need any assistance or local recommendations. We will provide you with a printed house manual and digital guidebook to help answer any questions that may come up. Our team is available 8am - 9pm PT.


Tahoe Donner is perfectly situated near some of the best ski resorts in Tahoe. This includes North Star, Palisades, and Sugar Bowl. In the summer, it's only a 10 minute drive down to Donner Lake. There are also tons of running and biking trails right down the street, in addition to a beautiful golf course.


Guests will have private access to the entire home, including all three bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living areas, and the outdoor deck.

Mountain bliss awaits at Hillside Happy Place, our traditional 3-bedroom cabin retreat in the tranquil neighborhood of Tahoe Donner. Step inside and feel the spaciousness of our open floor plan, where vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows fill the living room with beautiful natural light and views of the surrounding pines.

On chilly evenings, gather on the large, comfortable couch and get cozy by the wood-burning stove. For entertainment, you'll find a Smart TV with cable, a DVD player, and a collection of board games for fun-filled nights in. The open kitchen features standard appliances, making it easy to prepare your favorite meals while staying connected with your group.


TAHOE DONNER AMENITIES:
Tahoe Donner Private Amenity Access - Important Info for Our Guests Our home is located in Tahoe Donner, and as a short-term tenant, you have access to Tahoe Donner’s public amenities (Downhill Ski Resort, Cross Country Ski Center, Snowplay, Golf Course, Bikeworks, Equestrian Center and all restaurants) during your stay. Access to Tahoe Donner’s private amenities (Beach Club Marina, Trout Creek Recreation Center, Northwoods Pool, and the Tennis + Pickleball Center) requires a valid Short-Term Tenant Card and Daily Access Fees at the time of entry.

This property includes 6 cards for use during your stay. One Short-Term Tenant Card is required per person, ages 3+ (per day). Short-term tenants with valid Short-Term Tenant Cards are required to pay Daily Access Fees to access private amenities. Blackout dates apply during select peak/holiday periods for private amenities, at which time Short-Term Tenant Cards are not eligible for private amenity access (not applicable to public amenities). The 2026 blackout dates include: Jan 17-19 Feb 14-16 May 23-25 July 1-5 Sept 5-7 Nov 26-29 Dec 24-Jan 3, 2027.

The home is located 15 minutes from downtown Truckee, approximately 25 minutes from Northstar Ski Resort and about 3 hours from San Francisco. Lake Tahoe is a quick 20-25 minute drive. Other ski resorts, such as Squaw and Alpine Meadows are very close as well! The opportunities are endless! Lyft, Uber, and Taxis operate in the greater Truckee area.

To ensure a transparent and wonderful stay, please review these important details:
- No Air Conditioning: Like most homes in Lake Tahoe, our cabin does not have A/C. We provide a portable fan for the lower level and ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms to help you stay comfortable.
- Winter Availability: Please note that outdoor furniture, including the BBQ, and access to the backyard may not be available during the winter months (approximately November - May) due to snow.
- Weather & Travel: A 4WD/AWD vehicle, chains, or snow tires may be required in winter.
- Uncontrollable Events: We are not responsible for uncontrollable circumstances such as poor air quality during wildfire season or snow during winter. We strongly recommend purchasing external trip insurance, as our cancellation policy will be upheld.
- Safety: The home is equipped with smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and a first aid kit for your safety.

In the event of a power outage, there are emergency supplies located over the washer/dryer.
