San Juan Islands Stewardship Guide
Beautiful.
Unique.
Fragile.

Go slow. Come see the beauty in this magical place. Feel the breeze and the warmth of the sun. Listen for the blow of whales and the sweet sound of songbirds. Breathe in the earthy smell of the forests and luscious fields of lavender and wildflowers. Expect to see deer, foxes, sea otters, Orca whales, owls, eagles, and more. RELAX. You are on island time now. Let us provide you with a home-away-from-home experience that's relaxing, comfortable, squeaky clean, and perfectly located to every point on the island. Enjoy!

Reflect. Native American Tribes and First Nations of Canada have lived in and stewarded the San Juan Islands as part of their ancestral territory since time immemorial. Coast Salish people in the Islands tended and harvested shellfish, salmon, crab, and other species from the Sea, camas in the prairies, berries along streams and in forests, and other flora and fauna for food and traditional uses. These ancestral lands and waters are still utilized today, and are protected under inherent, ancestral, and tribal treaty rights.

Respect. Let us acknowledge we reside on the ancestral lands and waters of the Coast Salish people who have called this place home since time immemorial and let us honor inherent, aboriginal and treaty rights that have been passed down from generation to generation.

We are proud and honored to call these special and unique islands our home. We are honored to host you, our guests, in this amazing place!

Barbara and Pete have sailed the San Juan Islands for many years, experiencing adventures at every outing. Seattle captured our imaginations, in both work and play, for most of our adult lives, but the islands are now our home. We love the friendliness of Islanders who truly live on "island time" and are teaching us the easy-going ways of island life. Driving around the island in search of farm produce, eggs, fruits and vegetables or flowers is a favorite pastime. In search of Orcas, eagles or foxes is almost always rewarded with grand vistas and fantastic photographs. We are excited to share our magical island treasures with visitors and hope being on "island time" is as easy for you to achieve as it is to experience. Come be our guest at The Cottage on Cedar Street!

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

We know what it takes to provide that certain detail-oriented environment that makes you feel special and pampered. From self-check-in, you will enter The Cottage on Cedar Street, drop your luggage in the first-floor bedrooms, head upstairs to settle in, get comfortable, check-out the view, and start living on "island time". It's enchanting and intoxicating, and we invite you to be a part of it. Let us take care of your island experience!

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

First and foremost, we pride ourselves on offering our guests a super clean property. We earn 5-star reviews for being "the cleanest vacation rental" guests have ever stayed in. Our chef's kitchen is well-equipped for exercising your gourmet skills. And the bay view from the upper deck is beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. Our guests are job #1 and we take your vacation experience to heart. You'll feel comfortable, pampered and completely at home at the Cottage on Cedar Street.

Easy, mostly flat walking distance - about 14 minutes - into Friday Harbor village. The island's largest grocery store is nearby, filled with fantastic local produce and organic products. We have a lovely bakery and food co-op nearby, as well.

This property is beautifully sited on 3/4 acre with a heritage orchard. It is a reverse floor plan, which is to say the bedrooms and main bath are on the first floor, with the living space and bay view BBQ deck above. The chef's kitchen is a dream to cook in, while everyone is a part of the fun joining in from the great room, dining room and deck.

We are WFH (work from home) ready and have installed maximum 500x500 Mbps internet service. We provide a level 2 car charger for your ease in traversing the island in your electric/hybrid car. Our focus is on offering an exceptional experience with eco-friendly touches that express our love of conserving resources and preserving all that makes this place so unique.

Within the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, Friday Harbor, San Juan Island is the place to stay and relax, either during our gentle summers or calm winters, when island life slows to a lovely, and memorable pace. We get less rain than other areas in the region, making for clean air and clear vistas. Come visit us, you'll love it here!
