GG's cottage was built in 1936 and has undergone recent major renovations with more improvements planned. It's a wonderful place with options for relaxing: on the large covered porch with privacy walls, ocean view, ceiling fans, nice breeze, lots of comfortable outdoor seating, and a picnic table; or relax on the beach with direct access using private pathway from porch; or on the private boardwalk with benches and chairs to enjoy full sun and umbrella available if preferred; or in the spacious living room with ocean views, Wi Fi, and smart / Roku TV. There is an outdoor enclosed shower with hot and cold water.

MAIN FLOOR has a large entry foyer and large main bathroom with tub & shower combo; kitchen off the foyer with large refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee makers (drip & Keurig), plenty of cooking supplies; large dining room with plenty of chairs, even a second drop-leaf table if needed; spacious living room with Smart Roku TV and DVD, games, books, & puzzles; 2 bedrooms: 1 ocean front bedroom with queen bed; 1 double bedroom also with a double-size futon;
UPPER FLOOR has 1 queen bedroom with half bathroom, 1 double bedroom, and 2 rooms with 2 twin beds each; and full bathroom at end of hall, accessible to all.
Walking, biking, or short driving distance to activities at each end of E. Boardwalk Blvd or nearby on the island: Atlantic Beach Circle with many activities and shops (.2 mi) , Island Grill (also has large beachfront venue for weddings and events) (.4 mi), Oceanana Restaurant & fishing pier (1 mi), Tackle Box Tavern (.1 mi), Amos Mosquitos Restaurant (.9 mi), Table 9 Restaurant & Oyster Bar (1.2 mi), Crab's Claw Oceanfront Caribbean Seafood Restaurant (.2 mi), beach shops, brewery, and much more.
And if you love shrimp burgers and oyster burgers, try Big Oak drive-in at Salter Path (8 mi) or El's drive-in at Morehead City (3 mi). There are many other great restaurants and activities in the area.
Also of interest: the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores (5 mi), the Fort Macon Museum (2 mi), and Atlantic Beach Town Park with playground, water park, skate park, & mini golf (1 mi), all located on the island. Surfing lessons are offered at Marshes Surf Shop on the Causeway (1 mi). Several nearby ferry services such as Morehead City Ferry (2.5 mi) to Sand Dollar Island, ferry from Harker's Island (22 mi) to Shackleford Banks or Cape Lookout (in top 10 beaches by National Geographic), Rachel Carson Reserve, and other islands, as well as dinner and adventure tours. Olympus Dive Center is located in Morehead City (3 mi). Historic Beaufort on the waterfront is a short drive away with lots of shops and restaurants (6.8 mi).
There are also many great restaurants, shops, and things to see in Morehead City and Beaufort. The opportunities for fun and activities are endless!!
