California country living with privacy, comfort, and great views from every room! Wonderful for a couple’s comfortable, private get-away. Great for a family. 4 acre property with wide, captivating views of Arroyo Grande’s Santa Lucia hills and and a woodland of California live oaks below. Enjoy local wildlife (red-tail hawks, great-horned owls, deer, and bunnies) with the convenience of hopping onto nearby 101 highway (under two minutes away) for exploring around the beautiful central coast.

This charming custom home (art noveau architectural inspired) has an open floor plan downstairs, with a unique bedroom on each of the 3 floors, each with views. The 4th story is a storybook setting where we have a library/yoga room set up in "the tower." A detached studio/guest house is the "fourth bedroom'' offers more options and privacy. House and kitchen are newly remodeled in a clean, bright minimalist interior.

Outside are the patio and decks all with expansive views; includes an outdoor gas-fireplace, a santa maria style bbq (barbecue with a view!), farm table for dining. couch and double-lounger for relaxation.

Our “country castle” is near golf courses, hiking trails, wineries, and beaches.

The broader San Luis Obispo county as well as next door Santa Barbara county are also home to excellent wineries, beautiful hiking trails, comfortable beaches, and a variety of entertainment.

Serene & Private

Grown family of five enjoyed this excellent spot. The deck as a place to yoga, read, nap and enjoy the view was beautiful and we took advantage of it thoroughly. A perfect distance to wineries and the beach without being in the thick of tourist downtown SLO. Kitty cat was welcome company.

Unique house with room and a view

This is a unique house design, well-decorated and full of thoughtful little touches throughout. There is plenty of space around it with no encroaching neighbors and the decks have a great view of the hills. A very relaxing space with different choices inside and outside. Owners were very communicative and responsive to questions.

Wonderful and memorable trip

We had a wonderful time at the house! It has such a beautiful view and patio area… we enjoyed having dinner outside and hanging out the last night. Everyone felt so at home and safe at your house. It was conveniently located to everything, which was helped with going out with 5 kids. Thank you soo much!

Nice view!

We had a wonderful family reunion. Be aware that the twin “beds” on the third floor are just 3-4 inch thin mattresses that are on wooden slats that have openings between them. Very uncomfortable for an adult to sleep on. We loved the friendly outdoor cat.

Picturesque views

My family and I had a great trip and the house was a big part of that. It is located near all the great spots in the Central Coast including Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, San Luis Obispo and more. We had 4 kids in our group and they a blast being in the country and enjoyed the views too! The owner made herself available from start to finish and check in was very easy. We will definitely be back.

Eclectic, exotic, unique home, will make you want to stay in!

Our vacation at Maren’s wonderful house was all we had expected and then some more! We were a big party of 8 adults, 2 kids under 4 years and 2 dogs and we did not feel cramped at all. Key highlights - - explore the attic - take in the view of the valley from the vista windows - spend a sunset on the deck - explore the grounds and the neighborhood, we saw horse ranches, llamas, a house with a mini-train track - 8 mins to a Vons grocery store - 15 mins to Pismo beach Maren was also very responsive and willing to accommodate some last min requests. Book this place, don’t miss it!

I love to travel and explore new places. I was lucky enough to be raised in a motorhome with my family during long summer vacations, and I remember as a young child waking up and asking what town or state we were in today. That sense of adventure has be sown into my adult life, and we continue to travel and explore. It is with joy and a sense of reciprocity that we open our spaces to have other fellow humans enjoy a time of exploration and adventure.

Our home is special to our area as it has a unique feel. The Castle is both fun and classic feeling. We made our space liveable, but also tried to make it as open as possible so you could enjoy the outdoors as much as the indoors. The massive decks and patio spaces make being outside enjoyable, and the great weather that we have in this pocket of San Luis Obispo County gives us sunshine almost everyday and predictable 70-degree weather.
