We had an absolute blast at this house! This was our first family vacation in seven years. With two large dogs that are difficult to board, finding a place where we could bring our furry family members made all the difference. Our friends rented the house next door, which is also owned by the same family, and it worked out perfectly. Even though our week started off a little rainy and chilly, we had no trouble staying entertained. We spent our days fishing, relaxing around the campfire, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The dogs had plenty of grassy space to roam and do their business, and the canal views were simply beautiful. There’s no better way to start the day than sipping your coffee while looking out over the water. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals throughout the week. We only ate out once at the Chicken Shack, and it was delicious! The sand dunes are just a short 10-minute drive away. We rented a vehicle through SilverBack Rentals and had an amazing time exploring the dunes—definitely a must-do if you're visiting the area. The nearest Walmart was about 30 minutes away, so we did one large grocery run when we arrived and supplemented with items from local stores as needed.By the end of the week, none of us wanted to leave. The kids were already asking if we could stay another week! We're usually a beach-vacation family, but this trip to Michigan introduced us to a destination we'll absolutely return to.
