THE PROPERTY
Soliman Bay is the best kept secret on the Riviera Maya and the hidden gem of Tulum. The Casa Playa Maya property is situated in the central location on Soliman Bay which has a rock-free beach with soft, white sand. The beach is at your doorstep and largely private and undiscovered, so the beach is never crowded. All the beach toys are included: Kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear
Entry to Soliman Bay is protected by our Security checkpoint staff.

Protected by the second largest coral reef in the world, we have the safest snorkelling, calm, warm water and abundant sea life.

TURTLE NESTING
Between July and October is turtle season. Because Soliman Bay is quiet, abundant sea turtles choose Soliman Bay to make their nests. Many of our guests have had the once in a lifetime opportunity to view this amazing natural phenomenon of nesting and hatchlings returning to the sea.

We want your stay to be relaxing and stress free. Our property management team can provide:

Luis and Anabel will attend to your every need as our full-time, on-site staff. They will:

We can provide shuttle service from the airport or you can rent a car from the airport or in Tulum. Regular bus service can transport you to Tulum and other attractions with very inexpensive fares. In Tulum, you will find old town Mexico, which has become the chic destination for visitors across the globe. World class restaurants, authentic Mexican dining, and American-style grocery and department store for your every need. Tourist activities include kiteboarding, scuba trips, cenote dives and swimming, adventure parks, Mayan ruins and more.

Amazing property. Super well kept and very clean. Kitchenette had everything you needed you make a simple breakfast and drink coffee out on the porch before walking 30 steps to the beach. Luis, the property manager, was extremely communicative, gave great recommendations, felt like he was invested in our time being the best it could. He was also out every morning at sunrise cleaning the beach and organizing chairs to make sure it was perfect for everyone staying there. I was traveling with my partner. We are in our early 30s and it was exactly what we’re looking for. Not loud at all. A few other people staying there with a similar vibe. Pretty much our own private paradise. The place is on a dirt road that has guards 24/7 that you had to show your exact QR code to to gain entrance making the whole thing feel very safe. The guards were very nice. 10/10. Would definitely come back and encourage everyone we know to stay here. If you’re looking to party, this is not the spot for you. If you are looking for great food nearby, easy access to Tulum downtown, and Cenotes 1000% this is your paradise.

Wonderful getaway

We had such a wonderful, relaxing week! The beginning of the week the weather was perfect! The winds were low so we were able to get some good snorkeling in. As the week progressed the winds picked up which brought in a ton of sea grass; however, the beach was kept up as best as possible! The property is beautiful and well maintained! Having a grill was even better!

Beyond Expectations

Quiet, safe and secure. Our lovely casita was great, just steps from the beautiful pool area or the Solomon Bay. Our beach lounge area and view were amazing. Great place to interact with other guests. Fantastic swimming, snorkeling, beach walking . Our hosts Luis, Annabel and staff made our stay a 10 star experience.

Hidden Gem- don’t tell anyone

This place is a paradise and should remain a secret. The property is described perfectly! Take the descriptions and imagine 100 times better. I’m serious, maybe because we visited in April but we practically had the beach to ourselves! You will have your own beach, except with those also staying in property but we rarely even saw the other guests. The snorkeling out the beach is top notch. Having kayaks and snorkels is a wonderful amenity! The beach chairs are just what you need. The pool is perfect size for cooling off and relaxing if you need a beach break. We didn’t ever need a beach break, choosing to enjoy moonrise and sunsrise many times during our stay. Luis is the finest of property managers! He offered to arrange massages for us which we didn’t take advantage of only because we had already booked at the Mayan clay spa but next time we will. The grounds are well kept, he offers wonderful local advise and is around if you need. I live in a tourist area (Vail CO) and Doliman Bay is the best tropical escape that hasn’t exposed with tourism, crowds etc that you find near the heart of Tulum. We enjoyed going to the Tulum ruins and Dos Ojos cenote. Luis offered to arrange bicycles and a guide to other cenotes but we chose to enjoy being on property. Best place EVER! Book it you won’t regret it. We hope to come back and get the Villa with another family.

Absolutely fabulous property!

We were looking for a place to get away from it all and unwind and this place was perfect. The property pictures were very accurate and if possible don't quite do the place justice. Location is a simple 45 minute drive south from Cancun and 10 minutes north of Tulum. We stayed in Casita #1 and were about 20 steps from the beach around the main house. The room was just as pictured. Fabulous setting. Remote control ceiling fans and ac made the room very comfortable at night. No television or radio was perfect for our trip. Wifi worked great when needed. The kitchenette had everything needed to fix breakfasts and lunches at the property. There's even a gas grill right outside in the outdoor kitchen. The grocery store in Tulum is a short drive and very easy to find what you need. The pool is beautiful but we never spent any time there because the beach was even better. The beach was pristine and kept beautiful by Luis the caretaker who was always very friendly and super helpful. We spent a lot of time on the beach chairs out front. The property has a fabulous selection of high end snorkel gear for guest use. The house is situated right in front of the best snorkeling! I'm a beginner and saw the most amazing fish, even some I didn't even know existed. All the way out to the far reef it probably only gets about 10 feet deep. It was amazing! Water stays pretty smooth and breathtakingly clear. A little breezy sometimes but you're on the beach! Families with kids would feel safe here. My husband and I had a fabulous time. The property also has kayaks and paddle boards for use. A rental car is not a must but sure made it easy to get around. We never had any trouble driving around. Rules of the road are a little different but we did fine. We went to the ruins which were 10-15 minutes away. We snorkeled in a Cenote (Sac Atún). Shopped in Tulum. Tulum has some very great places to eat. Ate dinner at Oscar & Lalos near the entrance to the property which had fabulous food and was very reasonably priced. The property is located in a residential community with a guard at the gated entrance. Very safe the whole time. At the very end of our residential road is Chamico's on the beach. Don't miss it. It's plastic tables and hammocks on the beach right on the water with amazing scenery and pretty good food! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone, adults and families. I can't wait to go back!

Lovely stay by the beach

This property is a great find if you’re looking for privacy and a quiet neighborhood away from Tulum city. The bay this property is in is a collection of private villas, that in the off season are fairly empty. Luis was a great host that went above and beyond to make sure our stay here was fantastic.

The manager Luis was awesome and super attentive and helpful. The beach is gorgeous and I loved that there were kayaks and snorkel equipment to use, can’t wait to come back and see more of the beautiful reef! Morning meditation and tea on the beach and swinging in the hammock chair was complete bliss. You’ll want a rental car to get to town, which is only a short twenty minutes away. The home was in a safe and secure area. The room was clean and had everything you needed (but do bring your own shampoo/conditioner or just buy some in town). The fridge is a little noisy at first but quickly served as white noise to me as the fan was too quiet to compete. If you like to sleep in dead silence bring earplugs. I definitely recommend staying at Casa Playa Maya!

If you are looking for a quiet get away, relaxing and peaceful this is the place to be......managers Luis and Anabel onsite for any concerns. There are 2 restaurants on soliman bay, jasitas, fine dining and chamicos, casual, only open until 5pm. You may want to go to tulum or eat in. We enjoyed the beach and kayaks. We would return!

Nice cozy beachfront property

Cozy and comfortable casita just steps away from the beach. We stayed 4 nights in one of the small casitas (#1) and our friends in another. Our host and hostess were very friendly and helpful. They have kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling gear. Very comfortable and beautiful setting!

Wonderful spot on the beach

Perfect location on a beautiful bay. Loved kayaking to the reefs to snorkel. There was no reason to leave. There was construction that we were unaware of but the manager made up for it and was very accommodating. Once the construction is over this place will be a gem!

Simple, charming, and perfect

The snorkeling off this beach is amazing; we have been back several times to enjoy the incredible undersea flora and fauna. If you're a strong swimmer, you can swim directly out to the reef, or take one of the many kayaks available on the property. Our casita was well stocked with essential kitchen equipment, simple but functional furniture, and steps from the beach. Luis, the caretaker, was welcoming and helpful, and the property is lovely and well maintained.

Perfect little property

We stayed here for a week and what a wonderful week it was. Luis and Annabel take very good care of the place and the rooms and grounds are very clean and up kept. The pool is small but very nice for 7am or 9pm dip. The beach and Solimon Bay are great!! The snorkeling is prime with so much to see in the water just a couple hundred yards out on the reef. We did have our refrigerator stocked with some items and that is a great service. We will be back.

Beautiful Property with a beautiful bay steps from your door!

The studio apartment was not to difficult to find and was only about 20 min north from the town of Tulum. The apartment is small and the shower stall is small but it has everything you need. There are several windows outlinng the apartment with beautiful landscaping just outside with wonderful ocean breezes. The windows easily lock and the shades were easy to pull down for privacy. There is a small AC unit right above the bed for you to cool off if needed. There is a nice small outside table by front door for eating as well as a outside shower to rinse your self off before entering. The property manager, Luis and housekeeper were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The beach is literally 20 steps from your door step but is shared right in front of another house rental so you sort of feel like you are in their space but the people that were staying there were very gracious and sweet people. The bay is very calm and easy to snorkel and Kayak. We were able to see all variety of sea life. They have complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, life vests for you to use. There are two places to eat on the bay that are walkable. One is fancy dining and the other is a very causal outside restaurant. There is also a small store a few yards down to get beer and snacks.You have to try their coconut popsicles! The restaurant across the street on the road before you enter Solomon Bay is very good too, but not walkable. We felt safe and they even had a gas detecter in the apartment which gave us extra security. There was some remodeling going on the property during the day that was a bit noisy but you could not hear it from the beach. I would recommend this apartment for two people that do need a lot of frills and like peace and quiet. I would defiantly stay here again.

Perfect weekend getaway

Casa Playa Maya is Tulum’s best kept secret. We absolutely loved the laid back vibe, the cozy studio apartment & the great shoreline. It was peaceful, relaxing & rejuvenating. It literally felt like we had the beach all to ourselves. Luis was an excellent host, he stocked our fridge w/ our grocery list, gave us great recommendations for restaurants nearby & even went out of his way to give us a ride to Oscar & Lalo’s. We enjoyed kayaking, walking on the beach, sunbathing, watching the pelicans hunt for their food & drinking copious amounts of cerveza, wine & tequila. We loved hanging out with Waldo, the resident beach dog. Would come back to this place in a heartbeat.

The most wonderful little gem ..unpretentious, spotless and beautiful in the most exquisite setting. Luis is a lovely person and he took the most excellent care of us. Cannot recommend this highly enough...

Peaceful and relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay. I unfortunately caught some kind of cold virus on the airplane/traveling and so spent the first four days in bed but with the soft breezes, quiet atmosphere and ocean sounds, it was quite peaceful for healing, We liked that the beach was right in front of the property. The area is known as Soloman's Bay and it was ideal for snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding. We liked that Playa Maya was a way from the crowds of Tulum but only a short drive to get there for groceries, shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed meeting and visiting with other guests staying at the property. The onsite hosts, Luis and Annabelle were very pleasant and helpful; and Wendy the property manager along with the property owner were great at communicating with us. We hope to return!

Wonderful place to stay at Solomon bay

Beautiful beach, paddle boards and turtles! The hosts were very nice, the rooms were great!! We cooked in our kitchenette and ate by the beach! Will stay here again!

Perfect place for a couple to relax!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Playa Maya and would highly recommend it! We love the personal touch of the caretakers, the wonderful beach and the nearby restaurant that you can kayak or walk to. Not a touristy area and that is exactly what we wanted. Super happy they have kayaks and paddle boards! Fantastic! Thank you for everything and we hope to return some day. Kind regards! Ann & Jaime

We really want to share this amazing location with others and make memorable holidays and memories. Casa Playa Maya is located in pristine Bahia Soliman. It's a beautiful private beach in a protected bay. Unlike busy Tulum beach, our location is quiet with a beautiful sandy beach.

Entering the north end of Tulum Beach in town now comes with a fee for visitors.

When you rent with us your private beach is included...no need to pay to visit a busy commercialize beach. Just a few steps to the sandy beach, you can slide into your snorkel gear and experience amazing sealife. Jump into a kayak or onto a paddleboard and explore this calm turquoise bay. Its amazingly beautiful. All gear is included.

There are 2 restaurants on the bay and Tulum is only 15 minutes away if you want more shopping and restaurants.

We want our guests to come away feeling like they have truly had a vacation in a tropical paradise.

This is the polar opposite of an all inclusive resort. There are no crowds, but Tulum is close enough for some night life, great award-winning restaurants, mayan ruins and other attractions. Soliman Bay hosts only 48 properties and sits on the 2nd largest reef in the world. The beach and water have lovely white sand, the water is warm and aquamarine. Because the bay is uncrowded, guests can expect to see lots of sea life like sea turtles, rays, tropical fish, crayfish and more. Our community operates the Bahai-Soliman Turtle Protection Program and we hatch over 3000 baby turtles on the bay each year and it's climbing. These are only a few special things...the rest are you...when you visit.
