Great place

Farmhouse was well-equipped and spotlessly clean. Owners were friendly and helpful. There was lots to do for adults and children. The pool, hot tub and games barn were well enjoyed. Fishing in nearby lakes was excellent. A much enjoyed family holiday. Thank you

Fantastic property set in beautiful countryside

This place has it all. A lovely big farmhouse with the most amazing views. There is no need to leave the grounds as it has everything you could want such as tennis court, badminton court, swimming pool, hot tub, play barn, plenty of lakes for fishing and lots of places to explore. We really enjoyed our stay celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary and look forward to returning in the future.

A fabulous holiday

We couldn’t have enjoyed our holiday home more . Justin and Pippa were the best of hosts . Nothing was too much trouble . The site itself offers so much to do ( for mixed ages) and is in a stunning spot . Beaches and experiences are in easy driving distance . We’ve already booked again for next year .

Idyllic

Beautiful property in an amazing setting. Very large, clean and comfortable rooms, well equipped kitchen and facilities were great too. The swimming pool was a hit with everyone. Deb and Gary were really helpful, there if we needed them otherwise not intrusive. We stayed a week and never left the property. A perfect location for relaxing. We didn’t feel the need to go out anywhere.

I loved this place!!

We stayed in the farmhouse and the whole site has everything you need to keep the children entertained. The games room covered all ages and had something for everyone. The children's painting shed was a lovely surprise and the pool was a good size too. The owners were very helpful, and couldn't do enough for you. Only thing that slightly disappointed us was that for the fishing you had to have a licence but there was no mention of this on the website. Other than that,, not one grumble and everything was perfect.

Brilliant family break! Will be recommending to everyone!

The farmhouse was an amazing venue to rent with some other families. We had mostly teenagers and there is just so much to do with badminton, table-tennis and tennis court that the kids were never bored and was so great to see them off devices! The house is beautiful and the views and countryside around is lovely… especially when sat in the hot tub or out for a woodland walk! Even when the weather was bad… there is so much to do and plenty of room for out party of 10! The management Gary and Deb were brilliant and so helpful! I will definitely be recommending it…. Although maybe I should keep it a secret so I can book it again! Thanks so much to Gary and Deb for a really brilliant stay… even the 2 storms couldn’t effect how much we enjoyed it!

Lovely half term break

We rented the farmhouse at South Farm for half term. Stunning location, the house itself is beautiful - super clean -and added bonus of a hot tub. We don't fish, but the owners kindly lent us a rod and net. Some of the facilities were limited due to covid such as the sauna and gym but it didn't spoil our enjoyment - nor did the rain. Lots to do in the area for kids- ours loved everything we did (diggerland, bear trail, seeing wolves and birds of prey, the fishing and of course the hot tub!) We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

The farmhouse and location was just perfect for our family holiday

The farmhouse and location was just perfect for our family holiday, it felt very special and was exactly what we all needed. Thanks to Deb and Gary for making the stay so lovely and for all the advice from Gary about places to go. We all really enjoyed the fishing too, the place is looked after extremely well. The farmhouse was equipped superbly and very clean and furnished really nicely. The hot tub was great and good to know that it is well maintained and checked every day. My only comment would be that the pool needed to be warmer, especially for me to be tempted to go in, but I understand the reasons for you not being able to cover it up – this didn’t effect the holiday though as we went to the beaches instead which was lovely.

Lovely Farmhouse in tranquil setting

Our family had a lovely stay in the Farm House. The location was beautiful and quiet. No traffic so the kids were safe & free to run to the playground or play barn when they wanted. The kitchen was very well equipped. As I tend to do a lot of cooking it made my work much easier. The kids enjoyed fishing in the very well stocked pond. Would certainly stay again.

Lovely large farm house

We loved the farm house it was spacious for us all to be together, loved the log fire, big kitchen and really big lounge. Everyone enjoyed the games room and hot tub in the evenings. The cottage is quite a way from any local village about 6 miles and the roads narrow, some nice coffee shops and pubs which are mainly dog friendly. Tesco nearby so were able to pick up supplies and the kitchen was lovely to cook in, they also had an aga should you wish to cook in that. The owners were friendly although we did feel there were many rules on how to stay there partly understood why but felt it was a little over the top. Views from the rooms were great and it was quiet and peaceful.

What a wonderful home to be invited to stay in!

On arrival, the excitement of opening all the different doors and finding not just rooms, but 'wings', was palpable! It met all our expectations from the description ... but exceeded so many. Not only was it incredibly comfortable, it was beautiful, with lots of little touches that made us feel incredibly welcomed and catered for. We felt very much at home from the outset, like we'd been invited to stay in a (posh) friends' place, not just a holiday property. Debby and Gary were kind, friendly, accommodating hosts, on hand for advice when needed .... and to have a good chat about the fishing. We could not recommend South Farm more highly. It was perfect for our family/friends get together for a long weekend, not only sitting out under stars around the garden furniture (or in the hot tub of course) but also for lounging on the sofas, in front of the crackling fire, sharing dinner around the table, strolling round the grounds, playing in the park, catching carp in the beautiful top lake, or playing those lively games in the Play Barn. Kids from 10 to 46 had a fabulous time! We also found time to visit Sidmouth - in the sunshine! - and the House of Marbles. Both great days out. The incredibly muddy Bear Trail is a must for adventurous young people and adults who don't care about flinging themselves through the mire: exhilarating and hilarious. Take spare clothes. All in all, we loved our stay at South Farm and are already trying to work out when we can come back... soon!

Memories

Wonderful place to stay and family experienced a truly memorable Xmas. Farm House was well equipped with room for the whole family, there were 12 of us for Xmas lunch. Hot tub was great hit, sitting late at night looking up at stars an ideal way to relax. Warm welcome from Gary and Deb, chocs and mince pies nice touch.

Great Break

Booked the Farmhouse last minute, so glad I did a break for family & friends. The house is full of charm & has plenty of space the dining room & living room were fab. The kids loved playing hide & seek as the house was so big!!! The bed in the master bedroom was huge!! The kids also enjoyed have the outside play area & the play barn onsite. The managers Gary & Debbie were amazing nothing was to much trouble. Looking to go back in the summer so we can enjoy the outdoor pool & the large garden!! Thank you guys for a amazing time!!!!

The most perfect getaway

The ongoing investment in South Farm certainly shows. The accommodation was immaculate and we all loved the new Spa. Despite the time of year, the fishing was also excellent, particularly on Lower Ram Lake. We shall definitely be returning and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending South Farm to others.

Amazing facilities, beautiful location!

As a family we always enjoy getting together around Christmas time and South Farm is just the perfect location; it has multiple areas you can escape to and alternatively all come together. When cooking a large meal having the additional kitchen and range is just perfect. Of course, our favourite facility is the hot tub... And such great views with it!!! Debbie and Gary are always so very welcoming; we really enjoy coming back every year!
