We had a deeply distressing experience at this rental. The apartment had severe hygiene issues, with a major mold infestation, especially in the bathroom. Worse still, the linens provided were shockingly unsanitaryâmany were visibly moldy, and the duvets and pillows were heavily stained with what appeared to be urine, blood, feces, and even semen. This is completely unacceptable in any accommodation, let alone one offered to paying guests.The cookware was also in poor conditionâseveral mugs were chipped or broken, and many kitchen items were unusable. It felt as though no real effort had been made to maintain a basic standard of cleanliness or functionality.We contacted the hostâs management team immediately, but the response was frustratingly slow. VRBOâs messaging system compounded the issue, and our urgent requestsâfor clean linen or a room changeâwere ignored. Instead, we were eventually offered a small refund (62 EUR), which took over 2.5 weeks to process after multiple follow-ups. A refund of cleaning and admin fees doesnât fix the fact that the property was unsanitary and potentially hazardous to health.The only redeeming feature was the propertyâs central location in Annecyâs old town. Sadly, that doesnât compensate for the unsafe and unclean conditions. We will not book with Conciergerie du Lac again and strongly advise other travelers to avoid this rental.
