We loved the authentic coziness and room to work during our daughter's graduation weekend from IU. Kitchen was perfect as were the sleeping arrangements. It was an adventure to drive back and forth to IU's campus and it felt more like a vacation.

Beautiful property, kitchen was full equipped to cook ir warm up, beds were comfortable and entire place was clean. Only hiccup was (my fault due to not seeing it) you have to go to the office to get the key. I have never done this on any other rental. Somehow I was able to get driving directions to cabin on vrbo which the afterhours person was shocked. Overall good experience. Close enough to town but very private and quiet.

Serenity girls get away

This property was very comfortable and included so many amenities! We loved the kitchen table and all the decks, hot tub and screened porches! It was so quiet and yet so very convenient to the “downtown” shopping area. Loved our time there!

Perfect Getaway!

We stayed here over a weekend for our 15th anniversary. The property was just the right distance away from town and was also private enough that we felt we were away from civilization. The cabin was really quaint and very clean with lots of great amenities. Would definitely recommend.

The cabin was beautiful and very spacious. The view out the back deck was wonderful. I wish we would have booked a little later in the month so we could experience it in full autumn.

We look forward to this trip yearly! Our cabin we typically rent was booked and we found this on VRBO! It was perfect and will now be our “preferred” cabin! The kitchen as amazing and ideal for our cookie baking adventures! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Loved this cabin - only concern was king bed mattress is quite worn and dips and had a number of obvious pee stains with no mattress cover. Kitchen was great, could use a corkscrew with the utensils. :)

Girl's get away

Loved our cabin. Some reviews say the cabin is a little quirky with a few steps up and down here and there. We loved it and thought it added character. We appreciated the fact that it was the original cabin yet the kitchen is updated and wonderful. It was a peaceful little get away. Enjoyed the deck overlooking the ponds and woods as well as enjoying the hot tub. Thrilled to see the deer and the chickens arriving on the property every day. Can't wait to return again. Thank you for a great place to retreat to.

Great the 2nd time around too!

We stayed in this cabin in the summertime, and loved it so much we wanted to try to book with some friends in the winter. Our goal was to sit in the hot tub with the snow falling. Unfortunately, Mother Nature gave us a warm February trip too. We still enjoyed the hot tub until the evening before we left, as it turned to a cool tub. Nevertheless, we had SUCH an amazing time. This place is clean, and has plenty of room to sprawl out. Kitchen is gorgeous, and the selection of outdoor spots to hang out is perfect. Will be returning again!

Property rules

I was unaware that even though this is a 3 bedroom place that I would be charged an extra $25 per person if I had more than 4 people stay at this location due to county rules. I brought my parents down for my son’s graduation and needed 3 bedrooms. I have stayed in Brown County before but I guess this is new.
Aufenthalt von 2 Nächten im Mai 2024
Antwort von VrboOwner am 16. Mai 2024
We realize this cabin can be a bit confusing because it is a 3 bedroom, but the county based the number allowed on the size of the septic system. It is an extremely old cabin with the original system and it is very tiny, so to allow it to be a vacation rental the owner had to agree to only 4 people. They do allow us a little leeway but we charge the extra to cover the additional usage of the system. We are very sorry and usually if you mention when you make the reservation that you may have more than the 4ppl that the cabin shows allowed, we tell you a cost or even if allowed. Sewers are still just a dream down here, so this will always be a concern. We hope this won't keep you from coming back and staying with us again. We have all size cabins (104) so we can always try to find one that can accommodate more guests.

Great place!

We picked a good one! This cabin has several areas for groups to gather—-a large outdoor deck, a smaller outdoor deck with hot tub, a screened in porch, a 4 season porch, the living area and a large kitchen table. If you’re looking for a place with good cell service, this is not what you want. We found one spot on the outdoor deck where we were able to get spotty service. The only complaint that we had (and it’s minor) is that the ice maker produces very little ice. It just makes one layer of ice in the tray and doesn’t make any more. We would definitely go back!

Nice but not perfect

The cabin itself, furnishings, comfort, and the location were wonderful. We decided it would be nice to try one of the fire places. We knew what we were doing and opened the damper. The fire got started and seemed to be flowing upward. Within 3-5 minutes, the room began filling with smoke. We reported it to the management office when we checked out. I hope they came in and cleaned.

Quiet and comfy

This is a cabin about 4 miles outside the town of Nashville IN. Far enough away to feel peaceful and secluded, but close enough to town to enjoy all the Nashville has to offer. The cabin was clean, the beds were quite comfy and the kitchen was large and well appointed. We also enjoyed the hot tub both nights of our stay. Be aware that there are a lot of stairs, two steps up to each bedroom, two steps down to the kitchen. If you have serious mobility issues this might not be the space for you. Also, phone coverage was spotty, but that might just be an advantage if you re looking to disconnect! Otherwise, its a wonderful way to enjoy a getaway, big enough for a fun girl's weekend, cozy enough for a romantic getaway.

I cannot say enough positive things about this cabin! We thought the pics were cute online, but it's even better in "real life". The check-in process was easy, and the ladies in the office were so friendly, even while they were dealing with power outages from recent storms. They explained everything well, and made sure we were set. We were visited by chickens, who we later found out belong to a neighbor. Deer sightings, and music provided by so many different types of birds, and frogs. The ponds are great, although we didn't fish. Kitchen is absolutely gorgeous, and stocked with more than we needed. Definitely plan to return. Thanks for having us!

Nice cabin

Overall very nice. Not good for mobiility impaired though. Parking is right by the front door which is nice. Enter into main bedroom. 2 steps down into living room. 2 hallways into kitchen, both with 2 steps down. Bunkroom and other bedroom are 3 steps up. Great view from kitchen and very large rear deck. No cell service in the house but worked outside most of the time. Very quiet. Several deer by the ponds and neighbors chickens in the yard every morning. Cabin is well furnished, plenty of dishes and utensils. Beds are VERY soft which didnt work for me but wife liked it. May want to bring a lighter blanket in the summer. Very nice inside, outside could use some maintenence.

We are glad you enjoyed the Serenity Log Cabin. Hopefully, you initially went into cabin at the side door in the screened in porch, which is the door the key works in. The outside door to the bedroom usually remains locked, except for emergencies but it sounds like it came in very handy for you. This owner has put a lot of love into her cabin and we are glad you had such a good relaxing time there, and will come back again soon.

Nice, comfortable stay but missing a few key items

Overall, we had a great weekend staying here! The hot tub was a great feature and it was so quiet at night. Beds were comfy, good space. Only complaint was that the place was missing a few key things. FYI-there isn't any wifi at this place and cell reception was non existent. Not a big deal overall, but I didn't realize that until we got there as the listing doesn't state this clearly. There was also a random assortment of cooking items- you're decently far from restaurants here so cooking is a great option, but we would have appreciated a baking sheet or pan of some sort. The kitchen is gorgeous though. Lastly, the communication with the rental company was overwhelming. They sent so many emails and attached forms that it was hard to keep track of what was the right method of checking in and out. Some paperwork said certain rules existed and others said the opposite. We were supposed to have a check out checklist that was nowhere to be found. I think they could benefit from some organization. Overall, great comfy place to stay, but missing a few things that I usually think are a given for house rentals.

We are glad you had a great stay and have addressed the cookie sheet missing with the owner.
