This place was perfect for me and my husband! Property was beautiful with the reservoir and views of Shasta. Kind size bed was super comfy. Awesome bathroom. Big windows. Lovely kitchen! Super close to all the hikes we wanted to do. Close enough to town but far enough away so we felt isolated!
Shasta Trinity Vacation
This property has the best location on the lake, and has enough acreage to provide optimum privacy. The views are stunning, and the animal watching is great. We saw deer, geese, osprey, and Sandhill Cranes. A canoe is available just a short walk down to the lake.
The kitchen is beautiful, and fully stocked with any appliance needed. The master bedroom has a huge floor to ceiling window, as does the spa tub in the bathroom.
We loved this place, and plan to return in the spring.
Fantastic long weekend with family and dogs!
From the adorable little frogs that greet you on the stone walkway to the sound of wind in the pines and geese gathering, this property was so special. We loved the porch and ate all our meals outside. We walked to the lake (which we basically had to ourselves) and swam and had fun. So relaxing - everything you need is there. We spent a day at McCloud Falls - easy to find. We will definitely be back!
I gorgeous little stone cabin on many acres right on the lake. Kitchen is well
Equipt. Our kids
Loved walking around the property, our dogs loved all the new smells and the easy access to the lake.
We had a wonderful stay.
The lake is amazing
Let me start by saying the lake is amazing! It truly is a private lake. We floated, canoed, fished, and played in the water everyday for hours. You can see the lake from the house, but to get to the entrance, you have to walk through the woods which takes only about 2 minutes.
To be honest- we weren’t as happy with the house. It wasn’t as clean as we are used to. There was dog hair on the rugs. The recyclable trash was still full in the kitchen trash cans. There was still opened food in the refrigerator. (All of which made us a little nervous to wonder if it had been cleaned after the previous renters) There is no AC! We stayed the end of July, beginning of Aug and the temps were in the low 90’s. There is a cross flow in the evening with the windows open. However, the next morning we all woke up with mosquito bites due to the holes and tears in most of the window screens. So we had to close up the windows and lay under the ceiling fans. When we tried to make out the twin mattress in the living room, there were dried dead bugs. The only way it will sleep 7 is if 2 sleep on the couches. More than a handful of times, we found big black ants crawling around on the floor. Even with the house closed up, we were visited by a bat 3 different days. The refrigeration drawers in the kitchen is unique. Since one set of the refrigerator drawers wasn’t working, we had to use the extra frig in the garage. That would have been fine, however it still had opened food from the previous renter, and overall wasn’t clean. The house is a little older and you can tell. It just needs a little more attention to cleanliness and maintenance.
Some positives- You are one with nature! We saw numerous baby frogs. We were visited by deer and geese daily. The grill and fire pit are awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed, but they were very well used. We did enjoy the waffle maker and blender. The master bathroom was nice. Lake Siskiyou Camp and Resort is close by. We walked the numerous trails in the area and the views are breathtaking.
The lake is a definite 5
The house is a 2
So overall, we give it a 3
I am so sorry for this. It is not our policy to leave food in the refrigerator or trash in the bins. I have refunded your cleaning fee and have shared this information with the new cleaning lady. We have taken steps to make sure this never happens again.
We do not have A/C. Usually we open the windows and leave doors closed and turn on fans--this works except in extreme circumstances. We are looking into A/C because of the changes in the weather.
