Our home is known as "Aqua Vistas" and for good reason: THE OCEAN VIEWS DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN FROM THIS HOME - inside and out on the spacious decks! We are one of only 5 truly OceanFRONT homes in Anglers Reef -- and the only one of those 5 that rents. We are also one of the very few with LARGE WRAPAROUND DECKS ON BOTH LEVELS and offering 3 bedrooms.

ANGLER'S REEF is a boutique gated community of 52 homes inspired by Native Conch & British West Indies architecture with quaint streets & walking paths at Mile Marker 84.9 in Islamorada. With 3 bedrooms (including a King Master en suite, Queen guest bedroom and a 3rd bedroom with two twins), 2 1/2 baths, plus a queen pullout sofa in the Lining Room, we accommodate up to 6 adults and 2 children. Relax on one of our spacious decks, or in the lushly landscaped pool area, or on one of two stunning private beaches. A boat slip is also available with direct ocean access via our deepwater channel, plus easy Gulf access via Snake Creek just a few hundred yards north. The famous Islamorada Flats are right out front for bonefish, permit and tarpon; Alligator Reef is just 3 miles offshore; the inshore patch reefs offer a variety of snappers and tasty bottom fish; and within 5 miles of shore there are sails, mahi, kingfish, wahoo and more along the big reef in a few hundred feet of water. (Maximum allowed boat length is 31 feet including engines, max draft is 3.5 feet and max height above the waterline of 10.5 feet.) You can also launch your kayak to explore the coast and nearby sand bars at low tide, or try your luck fishing the flats or the mangroves. Brand new in 2008 with many upgrades and additions since, this home is fully equipped with all the best - even an electric fireplace for cool winter evenings! The views don't stop when you go inside - the 7 pairs of French doors and numerous windows bring the panoramic ocean views inside to nearly every room. Watch sunrises from every bed! For Fishing People: PLEASE SEE OUR MANY GUEST REVIEWS for the best descriptions of what to expect at Anglers 140! Once you reserve your vacation with us, we will send you our "Fishing Portfolio" and instructions so you or your kids to catch a fish dinner right at Anglers, as well as suggestions for guides, charters, and other places to fish! Islamorada is synonymous with great fishing - gulf, backcountry or ocean. There are plenty of guides, charters, 'head boats' and boat rentals. You can also try for tarpon, permit, snook, spanish mackerel & more at nearby bridges or the many other access points. Right at the Anglers property you can catch mangrove snapper, ladyfish, jack crevalle, moonfish, grunts, mullet & barracuda depending on season - just bring a light rod or two (Basic fishing instructions at the house - detailed instructions will be emailed!) You'll see the flats guides poling for bonefish just off the Anglers Reef beaches! If you don't bring your own boat or charter with a guide, you can bring or rent a kayak, launch from the beach, and try your luck fishing right out front for bonefish, permit, sharks & barracuda. Or check out the mangroves near by Snake Creek (be careful of the strong tides by the bridge) for snook, snappers, tarpon and grouper! For Non-fishing People: One of the reasons we chose Anglers Reef is that both the development and the Islamorada area offer a lot to do for people who are NOT into fishing. Besides the gorgeous pool area in Anglers and great views from our decks and the private beaches, nearby is great shopping & restaurants (including 3 eateries you can walk to!), plus Founders Park, the Diving Museum, and of course Theater of the Sea just 1/2 mile away! Onsite: Enjoy our spacious wraparound decks with propane BBQ and the views of the turquoise waters; swim in the large pool (heated in winter and cooled in summer!), relax with a book or cocktail on our spacious wraparound decks overlooking the Atlantic; take a quiet stroll thru the complex; or catch some sun on the private beaches. Restaurants: Just a short walk north are Hog Heaven, a fun sports bar on the water with great happy hour and surprisingly good food. slightly further north is a Puerto Vallarta, a very good Mexican restaurant. A few miles south is upscale Pierre's on the Gulf and the more casual Morada Bay beach cafe and Islamorada Fishery (all next to Worldwide Sportsman for fishing tackle, clothing, and a large indoor aquarium); also a few miles south you'll find the Green Turtle Inn, Lazy Days restaurant & many more eateries. Attractions: Swim with dolphins at Theater of the Sea 1/2 mile south. Founders Park is just a mile north with concerts and lots to do. The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce visitors center is also near the entrance to Founders Park for local info as well as affordable postcards, posters, T-shirts and books. Shopping: So much so close! From upscale gifts and clothing to Keys-ey schtick and souvenirs. Grocery & Other Shopping: There are small markets in and around Islamorada, including the Trading Post two miles south, but you may want to do most of your grocery shopping at either the Winn Dixie a few minutes north (around Mile Marker 91 in Tavernier, west side of the highway - NOTE: There should be a Winn Dixie discount card attached to the house keys) Or at the Publix a few miles farther north in Key Largo around Mile Marker 101 (east side at a traffic light in a shopping center with a KMart). Buy your beer and wine there too - less expensive than liquor stores. CVS is 1 mile south and also has well-priced beer/wine, basic foodstuffs and $6 Islamorada baseball hats! If you are going south, Marathon (about MM 50-ish) has a Publix, Winn Dixie, KMart , and a Home Depot. From the north, at Florida City right where you get off onto Rt 1 is a BJ's Wholesale (membership required). There is also a Walmart there (but it seemed a little sketchy to us so we do not recommend it). Lots of clothing and gift shops right in Islamorada! Wonderful - we will return

We have rented lots of houses in the US, some good, some bad - this was one of the very best. After a long journey from the UK, we were delighted to arrive at this beautiful house, it went far beyond our expectations.

It was lovely to stay in a house, which was clean, well equipped and beautifully presented. Likewise it was great to be provided with a detailed information pack, prior to our arrival, by Steve the owner. The house has all of the amenities needed, for a stress free and relaxing holiday. All of the fittings and furnishings are of a high standard and it all makes for a luxurious holiday experience. The kitchen is fully stocked with all you need and a trip to the nearby store, enabled us to eat in the house, whilst enjoying the views and the breathtaking sunsets.

This property has the best location on Anglers Reef, overlooking the ocean, away from the Highway and in a secluded and peaceful spot. We spent time on the decks, simply gazing at the ocean, watching the comings and goings of boats and kayaks and were entertained by a wide variety of exotic birds and wildlife.

We hired a boat and enjoyed a fabulous afternoon on the ocean. On return to the boat dock, we were met by a manatee - what a wonderful experience to have - a memory which will stay with us for ever.

We loved using the pool and on many afternoons, had it to ourselves. The pool is lovely, clean and well cared for and again offers fabulous views. When we met other guests and residents, they were friendly and keen to chat to us.

There are several places to eat close to the house, which was great and meant we could enjoy a meal and drinks, without worrying about driving.

We visited Key West and enjoyed a visit to Ernest Hemingway's home (especially good for fellow cat lovers), we fished with a knowledgeable guide, catching bone fish and tarpon and all in all, had a fabulous and memorable holiday.

A Lovely Week!

Hi, Steve.

Thanks for sharing your home. We had a lovely week! The house was perfect and the weather was excellent. We loved the pool! The kids did some fishing and we all got to know the crew down at Abel’s. They hand picked the best shrimp for the kids and showed them how to bait their hooks. We spent a day in Key West which was a fun change and worth the drive. We rented a boat from A1A for the day and hit the sand bar. Our favorite stop for lunch was 88. We boated there and ate right next to the water. Next time, we’ll be sure to line up kayaks.

Glorious, Awesome, Immaculate!!

It has been 12 years since our family has vacationed in the Key's, don't ask me why..and found myself asking that once we returned. After extensive rental property searches, I came upon this glorious rental, Angler's Reef 140. This awesome home and it's surroundings were all anyone could ask for in terms of high end quality and convenience in a home away from home. The owner's were superb..attending right away to any questions and concerns..and especially accommodating, thanks Steve. The home was immaculate as were the landscaping as far as the eye could see...swimming pool was the bomb. With it's ultra easy access to the Atlantic via nearby boat slips, it made for easy access to diving, fishing and great snorkeling spots a breeze. We went the week of mini lobster season, not that the lobster were mini in size, just the 2 days of open season before the full season opened in early August. We did pretty well on bagging some bugs, got enough to feed everyone with a few left over. We ate out twice, one restaurant The Islamorada Fish Company was a bit of a disappointment..not as good as it once was, however we all enjoyed our time and the food at Wahoo's, right there at Whale Harbor. Also adding to the fun here was the charter boat services located at the marina. We got to see a charter come in and hang 0ver 20 dolphin, several mahi, a smaller fish of the same dolphin family, and a couple grouper . Don't miss the excitement at Robbie's where the whole family can have a good time and feed monster Tarpon. The water here in the Key's is quite stunning..I always say it's like boating and fishing in a giant swimming pool. Vivid shades of crystal clear blues and greens... I would have to give this trip and the Angler's property a 5 Star rating. It is a must for the absolute best in accomodations. Cheers!

Fabulous, relaxing and fun!!

We've rented your beautiful home several times and it never disappoints!!

~ Nothing better than waking up to coffee on the beach right outside your door.

~Lovely home with lots of room to spread out and everything you could possible want or need.

~Beautiful views from the porch and balcony.

~Lots of fun people around the pool overlooking the ocean. Yet also plenty of room to find a chair!

~Great restaurants nearby...

~Island Grill: Best tuna nachos

~Morada Bay: for Sunsets on the beach

~Wahoos: for best pina coladas and key lime pie

~Green Turtle: excellent crab cakes

~A1A Boat and jet ski rentals...We rented jet skis with our 17 year old son and did a 2 hour tour that was such a blast!! Definitely recommend it!

All in all... a fabulous, relaxing and fun week in the Keys!!

Wonderful Stay at AR 140!

We had a wonderful stay at AR140! Steve made the rental experience easy throughout the process and the stay.

The views were spectacular and the home was beautiful, clean and a wonderful place to relax after busy days swimming and exploring. The community was well kept/manicured and the beaches (one with soft white sand and the other more rocky) we both fun to explore! We took walks every evening to both beaches and collected small rocks every morning on the beach closest to the house. The decks were beautiful - we loved the couches and chair on the upper level (the cushions were clean and comfy to lounge on!) Other highlights:

Family Fun Boat Tours - did a private 4 hour tour with Captain Heidi - SO fun and incredibly memorable. She was wonderful with he kids and my son (7) jumped in and snorkeled with us at Alligator Reef which was amazing! Also took us on the big sandbar and through the mangroves on the bay side. She even took us to see some sunken "ship" (boat) wrecks which the kids loved.

You cannot miss a sunset at Morada Bay - very casual - grab a beverage at the bar and explore the huge beach while watching the sunset. My kids (4 and 7) loved running around. We had dinner there as well and the food was fantastic.

Robbie's - feed the tarpon and have a beverage/snack! My kids loved the shave ice. :)

Wahoos - delicious catch of the day. Key Lime Pie slice was HUGE and delicious!

Bayside Gourmet - a small, cute spot for lunch (indoor seating or takeout) - delicious lobster bisque and grouper reubens!

Mile Marker 88 - beautiful sunset and delicious cocktails and fish dinners

Loralei - awesome key lime coladas, decent food and amazing sunset! My kids loved the magic show (I think his shows are M/W/F after sunset, live music before that).

We also grilled out at the house and enjoyed evening swims at the pool - the water is heated to a very comfortable temp even for breezy days!

We would absolutely recommend AR140 to family and friends!

Cancellation Policy: If a tenant cancels after leaving a deposit and signing a lease, every effort will be made to re rent the premises. If successful, your funds will be returned less a $100 fee for processing and the return of the funds and less any reduction in rental rate to obtain the replacement rental. If the premises are not re-rented, the funds paid will be forfeited. Notwithstanding the above, if the Village of Islamorada or the State of Florida calls for a mandatory evacuation order, or such official order prevents or delays your arrival, tenant will be credited for any days such order is in effect during their rental period.
