Review My wife, daughter and I very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Palmier and it was perfect for escaping the cold winter back home. Communication was great and Eric was attentive and accommodating. The flat and neighbourhood was well equipped for our needs and the locals and neighbours were friendly and helpful. Steps away from fruit markets, butcher shops, convenience stores and food stalls and is located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood away from the busy tourist areas. It’s about a 25-30 minute walk to the beach, centro, and shopping centres and a 10-15 minute taxi/uber ride to most places ranging from 5-8 CDN or less. If you are looking for a low key authentic local experience then this is the place for you. It’s perfect for everyday living only with better weather. We would definitely return.

Taxi across the street almost always already there, approximately 7 Canadian dollars to downtown. the place is located in a local neighborhood, with friendly people, lots of little stores to get the essentials. private courtyard, lots of security gates. comfy beds and air conditioning. Fantastic street food nearby. It Was a great get away!

We are indeed in a quiet and local area of the center of Puerto Vallarta a few minutes by taxi or bus from the tourist attractions and beaches. Condo well maintained

Teresa did an excellent job checking me in and out and responding to questions. The young man did an excellent job every Monday watering plants and cleaning outside area. Condo was long distance from tourist area. Very few spoke English and large gutter was dirty.

Immersion into daily Mexican life

We enjoyed our stay at this well located home. There are many stores, fruit stores, food stands and access to public transportation. It was a great way to immerse my family into Mexican daily life. Everyone we interacted with in the neighbourhood was friendly and welcoming. We took advantage of the stores nearby to stock the fridge for breakfasts and enjoyed dinners at the neighbourhood food stands and restaurants. Eric and Tere were very friendly and quick to respond to any questions and concerns.

lovely home, conveniently located.

The house was as described and true to the pictures posted on the listing. Other reviews are accurate as to location in proximity to the ocean and amenities. Good value for the size of the property and easy to get taxis, Uber rides and buses. Lots of locals and as this property is located by a kindergarten, so you should like the sounds of children playing during the weekdays. Very quite at night though. We used both of the patio areas and appreciated the shady spots. Would recommend this unit if you are OK to not be right by the beach and like to have a more authentic, less touristy area to experience Puerto Vallarta from. We would be back for sure.

Great House, but not near anything!

The house was great inside. Very comfortable. The problem was, it’s not near anything! Not the ocean or a pool or anything! When we would grab a cab back from the evening. Only 1 cab driver out of 28 cabs knew where the house was! This caused all kinds of problems and being charged 2X the cab fair each time!

Thank you, Wendy, for your excellent rating and for appreciating my house. The house is ideally located in a quiet local residential area. We are 6 minutes from the beach "Las Glorias", 10 minutes from the boardwalk "Malecon" and historic center. An apology for the inconvenience you have had with the taxis: it is important to bring the address (with the details of the location) that I give you to arrive and confirm with the driver address and price before going up. For the same reason, I recommend using the Uber service better since you yourself can indicate the precise address in your App. There is also a bus line right in front of the house that takes you to the center in 10-15 minutes.

Relaxed/Quiet/Comfortable

I stayed for 24 nights. I had elective surgery and Eric's place was the perfect place to enjoy my recovery, it was quiet and very well equipped. I chose this place because of the easy access to taxi and very close to my Dr. And not to mention the security is 100%, I always felt safe. Our host Eric was always quick in responding my messages and checked in from time to time to make sure we didn't need anything. Really enjoyed, my recovery here. I highly recommend it. - Thanks Eric

2023 - Jan stay - for professional couple

This was a charming villa to stay in for two weeks, it was nicely appointed and decorated and was the nicest home in the neighborhood. The Villa was recently renovated, and everything was clean and well maintained. The Villa is large and gracefully proportioned, with a wide hallway, a big dinning space and a good-sized kitchen. This is a non-touristy neighborhood; as Canadian tourists we were a rare sight. Very little English spoken in any of the nearby shops, and none spoken in the one restaurant we found in walking distance. We took Uber to big grocery store and made and ate most of our meals at the Villa. We felt safe in the neighborhood, and it was mostly quiet, but be aware there are roosters, and they crow morning, noon and evening.

Indeed, we are located in a non-tourist area of Vallarta where one can live as a local and at the same time the Villa is located very close to everything (7 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes from the boardwalk, 15 minutes from the romantic area, 20 minutes from the marina and the airport). The house is very quiet and relaxed with its gardens and terrace. It also has airtight windows due to the occasional noises. You are welcome when you like it again.

This house was very cute the pictures dont do it justice. I stayed the weekend here with my husband an 2 kids 7 & 10. I communicated with the host Eric but his wife Teresa was the 1 to actully received us, which was even better being received by her she was lovely and had excellent style. Eric was very quick with responding. I asked a special request of him if he was able to do so and he did so which was very cool. I changed my check in time to an earlier time amd check out time ki changed twice an that didnt seem to be a problem. Over all i love this place and wil defintly be recommending to friends and family as well as going back again in the future. Thanks E&T

Holiday Family Vacation

The house was great during our 7day stay at PV. The neighborhood seemed sketchy at the beginning but during our stay we became familiar with it and in general it’s a quiet and safe area. If you have a vehicle, there is no parking right outside the house (they had some old vehicles parked instead which did not made the house look good when we arrived) Instead, we had to park on the street which was fine too. The house was clean in general, there is a humidity smell throughout the house if the windows or AC is not turn on. The washer and dryer is a bit hard to use hence the instructions provided. In general, our stay was great. FYI: the house number is hard to see, we had issues finding the house at first. The gps will not take you to the exact location. It would be useful to move the house number so it can be seen from the main street.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe and the advantage of living with the locals is to have an immersive experience with the culture and the Mexican way of life. Many guests appreciate the kindness of our neighbors. We provide a guide to, among other things, explain and translate into English and French the operation of the washing machine (buttons in Spanish). We are also at your service during your stay. We don't have a private but public parking space to share with the neighbors. Puerto Vallarta has a humid climate and in case of high humidity it is advisable to turn on the Dry position of the air conditioner, which you have done. With the directions (GPS included) that we provide for your arrival, you should not have a problem getting home. VRBO's GPS link may appear incorrectly on iPhone. It will be a pleasure to welcome you during a next stay in Puerto Vallarta.

Maison agréable

Nous étions 4 personnes pour un séjour de 28 jours. Quartier agréable, calme. Accès rapide, à moins de 3 minutes de marche devant la maison, auprès des commerçants, poissonnerie, épiceries, boucherie, boulangerie, et autres. A 20 minutes à pied du Walmart, ou de l’épicerie (La Comer) et du Costco. Transports communs, autobus, taxi accessibles juste devant la maison. A moins de 10 minutes d’autobus du Centre et de la zone romantique. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour, passé de beaux moment parmi le quotidien des Mexicains du quartier et l’effervescence des sites plus touristiques. Les appareils pour cuisiner et faire du lavage étaient conviviaux et nous avons bien apprécié cet aspect. Par contre le réseau internet n’était pas de haute vitesse. Donc impossible de s’installer pour quelques mois et faire du travail a distance. Meme d’écouter Netflix. Simplement pour un iPad à la fois cela ne fonctionnait pas vraiment, c’était beaucoup trop lent. Cet aspect pourrait être amélioré pour permettre une location long terme, car l’endroit est très calme et la maison agréable. La literie aussi demandera un peu de rafraîchissement. Je suggérerais un ajout d’informations pour les transports en autobus qui pourraient faciliter les déplacements. Comme il a déjà été mentionné, il y a beaucoup de coqs libres tout autour qui chantent tôt le matin et toute la journée et de chiens le soir et la nuit qui jappent. Disons que l’on s’y adapte assez rapidement. Bel endroit chaleureux,agréable.

Je suis content que votre séjour se soit bien passé et merci du temps pris pour votre évaluation et commentaire. La maison est idéalement situé et permet de profiter de la vie locale tout en étant proche des lieux plus touristiques. D'autres part comme vous le commentez c'est un quartier vivant avec des gens charmants et pleins de petits magasins. Nous avons pris note de votre commentaire sur le wifi et nous offrons maintenant et depuis mai 2024 d'un internet avec une vitesse excellente de 150 Mpbs. Vous pourrez donc á présent et pour un prochain séjour profitez pleinement du streaming et navigation. Les bruits relatifs aux chiens errants ou coqs sont ponctuels et ne caractérisent pas le quartier en soi. Toutefois nous avons des fenêtres hermétique qui une fois fermées permettent de limiter les rares nuisances. La maison est réellement situé dans un lieu très calme sans bruit de trafic routier par exemple qui est souvent un gros problème dans certains quartiers de Vallarta même touristiques. Ce sera un plaisir de vous retrouver prochainement pour découvrir un jardin encore plus beau, des petits détails en décoration que nous améliorons á chaque instant. A bientôt!
