Activities:
- You can visit the Chartrons district, on the banks of the Garonne. This district is ideally situated between the prestigious Quinconces esplanade and the Jardin Public. Marked by its wine trade and then enriched by its maritime exchanges, its streets are home to the sumptuous residences of former merchants and wine warehouses. A village within the city, just like the suburb it once formed, this Mecca for antique dealers and merchants is a condensed history of Bordeaux.
Today, the merchants are still in Les Chartrons (after a short break in the 20th century). They have been joined in the narrow streets by the antique dealers.
- We also invite you to visit rue Notre Dame, which stretches for 700 metres and has around forty of them. An emblematic street in the district, it has seen art galleries and interior design shops flourish over the years. Its history is not contradicted by the small shops that mark it out as a BOBO district. It's a history that's still dear to the hearts of its residents. Many of them consider themselves Chartronnais long before they were Bordelais!
