The view and the access to beach are excellent. The apartment is large and spacious and has great potential. Unfortunately it is badly in need of repair and upgrading. We had serious issues with plumbing, owner response, and repair responses. Of the four bathrooms the two downstairs were unusable as one had only hot water and the other only cold water. One upstairs bathroom developed a leak that ran down inside a wall and water pooled from the wall across a bedroom. The kitchen sink was plugged when we arrived. The manager did get a plumber to open the kitchen sink but none of the other issues were fixed. One person came to check on the water leak and said he would be back in 5 or 10 minutes and that was the last we saw of him. We spent the last four or five days dealing with the flood with no contact from the manager. There is an upstairs window frame that is broken and the glass threatens to fall out when the wind blows. All of these problems have been written in previous reviews and yet they remain broken. We had lots of photos but unfortunately they were of defects.

The condo is a great size and location. The view is awesome from the large balcony. Kitchen is a good size and has what you need to cook if that's what you want. Bedrooms were big and beds were comfortable. Bar area for drinks. Wifi and smart tv for your inside break.

Wonderful family friendly stay

We loved this property! It was very clean and spacious with plenty of room for all of us, noisy children and adults who required more quiet. The kitchen was great. The only thing that was missing was a functional dishwasher and we could’ve use some more dish towels. Other than that it was wonderful and the whole resort was very friendly and fun.

I spent a lot of time choosing this condo, for its size and location. When we arrived in Cancun at 3:00 we were told we wouldn’t be able to stay at the property. We were in our transport shuttle with no where to go. We were offered a few alternatives, but none were on the beach and were not comparable. We had to find another place on our own and have our money refunded. It was very disappointing. We had a toddler and teenagers with us and the whole experience was rough. We did go to the resort to try to figure out what was going on. It seemed like a nice place, but we never went in the unit.

Very Dated and Needs Renovation

Property is very dated, plumbing fixtures don't work correctly, no hot water in kitchen sink, no hot water in primary shower first two days, dishwasher doesn't work, furniture falling apart. Stairs to second level are extremely dangerous for young children or elderly people. Tile in showers is in terrible condition. Entire home needs a full remodel/renovation. I am a builder and was shocked by the condition of the home considering the price. The overall complex is nice and has nice amenities. Older crowd at the pool so not ideal for children. No one under 18 is allowed in the hot tub at any time whatsover and the pool attendant will make sure of that. Not a single person uses the hot tub as a result. Would not stay here again or recommend it.

Disappointing Facility

Not worth the $$$ per week. Really bad wi-fi, only supplied 1 towel per person for the week, no kitchen towels, smelly bedroom, poor lounge chairs, no laundry service, dirty floors...nice view of the pool area and an easy walk to shopping area (around a mile). It was worth being with the family, but this condo was not worth the money. I've stayed in over 20 VRBO's. I will not repeat a stay here.

Property is good, Vacasa not so much

We had multiple issues from day one with the profusely leaking, a shower that dripped loudly 24/7, one unusable shower and then storm shutters banging against the windows for several nights. Vacasa manages this unit and didn’t really try to get anyone there to help for 4 days and they didn’t show up when they said they would. On day 5 we told them to forget it. All guests left early.

Falling apart place

The day we were checking in we were told one full bathroom couldn’t be used. A Bedroom downstairs AC doesn’t work. The light in that bathroom doesn’t work. Maybe due to the fact that water leaks from the bathroom upstairs above it every time it’s used.Other room has black mold. No faucets in shower and it drips all night making an annoying noise. There’s no hot water in the house. Just luke warm. Internet doesn’t work. The management company said they forgot to pay it. Dishwasher didn’t work either. AC in living room leaks making a huge puddle so we couldn’t use it. They sent a handy man who moved the couch so it didn’t get it wet but didn’t fix it. TVs have no WiFi so we couldn’t watch movies. The internet was down the whole time. . One day it was raining and water comes in through every window. The second room upstairs has a broken window. It bangs with the wind all night making noise. And we couldn’t put enough towels to keep it dry. It would’ve been nice to know that the fridge water and ice didn’t work either since there’s no other filter in the house. The bathrooms have black mold and are falling apart totally disgusting. 3 different places in the ceiling leak water when raining.They are very responsive but pretty much said there was nothing they could do except have us walk 1 km with our stiuff and move to a house not on the beach (3 days into our stay)They knew these issues and still rented the place. Do not stay here.

Nice but needs some caring for

We have stayed in this unit 3 times now and love it for its space and bedroom/bathrooms. It has wonderful views (especially sunrise). ACs worked very well keeping us cool when we needed to be for sleep. However, the overall feel of the place this time felt a bit more rundown. We had issues with a kitchen sink that backed up. Our local manager was able to get someone out to fix after a few days but it added to our vacation time to have to coordinate people coming in the unit three days in a row to attempt to fix. The ceilings are starting to leak in places during rain storms. One of the bathrooms (lower double) did not have hot water. Lots of scuff marks on walls. They could probably use a repaint. These things are not deal breakers as we made it work but certainly something that should be addressed. Also, towels are a bit lacking, especially in the kitchen where they offer none as well as no paper towels. This meant we had to use bath towels to dry dishes. There is a dishwasher but it is not functional. If you want to use the kitchen extensively, these are things to address or bring along yourself. The resort is lovely and managed well. Service professionals are kind, courteous and go out of their way to help you during your stay. We love the pool area and spent a great deal of time there. Vacasa professionals were responsive to sink needs. Someone was also there at checkout to ask about concerns. Our hope is that these issues are address (which are minor) so that future stays can be enjoyed by all.

Cancun Vacation Spot

Location was amazing, right on the beach with all the amenities of the all-inclusive resort (without paying for all-inclusive fees if you don't need it). Close to the city and all of the crowds, action, and restaurants, but far enough away that you don't hear the music all night. The apartment had enough bedrooms and beds for our group, and the AC worked great. Very clean and very comfortable. Would stay here again!

Amazing get away

If you are looking for a great get away with family and friends this is the place for you. We opted out of the all inclusive package but was treated just as great as other guests that had the all inclusive included with their stay. Their home was an amazing space and in my opinion has the best balcony. The 4 bedrooms were as advertised and better than we expected. The two master bedrooms upstairs have more than enough space and windows where you can enjoy a coffee to watch the sun rise if you chose to have some privacy rather than heading down to the incredible beach. The unit was amazingly clean and well stocked with what you would expect in a rental unit. The kitchen, bar, living room and balcony offered more than enough living space for everyone to find that space they needed to party or relax. The pool and grounds were very well maintained and easy to access. The staff and live entertainment was great. Everyone was treated like family. The place is located close enough to walk to 5th to 30th ave and as we did, I hope you find that little area away from the tourist trap of 5th ave that will bring you back. Simply put we are booking this place again for a family retreat as there is a lot more that want to explore and find in Playa.

El apartamento es fabuloso con su diseño y amueblado, con una vista al mar espectacular, el condominio esta a 10 minutos de la 5ta avenida donde puedes comer y comprar lo que sea. Lo único malo no hay agua purificada, café y servilletas, tuve que salir a comprar TODO. Estuve en un apto en el mismo condominio utilizando airbnb y había todo, hasta una botella de vino de cortesía, cervezas y gaseosas, y lo utilizas en el momento que llegas acalorado del viaje; por un precio más barato al rentado en vacasa, este aspecto puede mejorar

Sunset Fisherman - Great Stay

We spent a week at this lovely condo and have to say it was very comfortable and the scenery was just beautiful. We loved watching the sunrise out of our bedroom window and the balcony has a beautiful view. We did have issues with the downstair cooling system but the owner was attentive and responded quickly and had a two technicians repair the problem. I loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom and the rooms were big. We loved the pool and the jacuzzi and the staff were amazing. We did have to in inquire where the clothes washer was located which is outside (not inside the condo). Also just make sure you leave the keys in the "lockbox" when you check out if those are the instructions provided to you. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Sunset Fisherman.

Great space, great location

This condo is a great space in an amazing location. The four bedrooms, each with an ensuite are nice size and very comfortable. There was one plumbing issue but the property manager was very responsive and had the issue fixed within a few hours of notification. This is my second time staying in this unit. A working dishwasher would be great but we knew ahead of time that it was not working so not unexpected.

Sunset Fisherman's- All you could want

We stayed here for spring break and were a family group of 7 with ages ranging form my 13 year old daughter to my 70 year old parents. First the location is great and secure, the scenery is awesome and the staff is absolutely amazing. The Condo is extremely comfy and has many amenities. We tend to buy food and cook most of our meals at home to safe some money for when we do go out and this place had everything we needed. Also the beds are really comfy which is a key point for us. As with anytime you go to a rental especially international, there may be some issues. We had one of the Air-co units freak out and the dishwasher was not working right while we were there. The property manager and repair team was super quick to respond and communicate extremely well to keep us informed of what was going on. We honestly do not stress about things like this when we travel although I know for some groups this could really mess with their calm. For us the fact that the Managment and repair team responded so professionally and quickly was all we needed. We totally loved this location and would go back in a heart beat. Also it was fun having the bar right at the pool, the ocean is beautiful and the food at the restaurant is great. We really liked the Buffet style breakfast. Lots of the staff do not speak much English which again does not bother us and we view it and we are visiting a Spanish speaking country so that is on us a bit, but they give 110 % to all the patrons so be patient and it will all work out.

great place

place was excellent only problem was at check in didn't have lock code but staff was very helpful management never emailed it with payment conformation it took about an hour to check in already planning to return

Awesome Stay!

We had a wonderful time in Playa del Carmen at this 4 bedroom condo at Sunset Fisherman Resort. The time we were there was what the locals call "seaweed season". Lots of seaweed! I only include this for folks who may be looking to book during this same time. Obviously not anything Vacasa can do about the seaweed. :) The hot water fluctuated a lot. Made taking showers interesting. The resort pool was FABULOUS! Beach to pool just steps from each other. It was a 15 minute walk to downtown Playa del Carmen. We walked it almost every day even though we had a car for longer distances. We would definitely stay here again.
