Mabel und Harry's, ein modernes Landgasthaus

This colonial farmhouse, built in 1920, was purchased by Mabel Daily, a housewife and mother of 13 who had a vision for her family’s future. Generations later, her granddaughter Janny bought the farmstead from a cousin and invested years into a loving and design-intensive restoration. M&H is a mix of the old and the new: original architectural features and high-definition flatscreen TVs; an induction cooktop and a speckled enamelware kettle; antique nightstands and the highest-quality bamboo sheets and bedding, not to mention our single-strand mulberry silk pillows. The house was designed not only with preservation and elegance in mind, but with an eye toward the kind of relaxation that can only come from having your every need met.

To preserve nearly 70 years of family history, Janny, co-founder of Jewell RD Homes, purchased her grandparents’ farmstead. She and her brother and business partner, Mark, executed an extensive two-year design plan to transform Mabel and Harry’s into a charming space for short-term rentals, special events, and intimate weddings.

I am the owner and manager of Mabel and Harry’s. I have handpicked three people that help me with the cleaning and upkeep of the property. I have set very high standards regarding the cleaning of the house. I would like to assure potential guests, considering a visit, that in addition to laundering sheets(which should go without saying ☺️) every quilt, every blanket, every throw that is used is laundered. Every time! We use high-end organic bamboo linen from Cozy Earth and Quince.

We have many guests who leave the house, looking beautiful, but we repeat all the work, no matter what. We hand wipe down our sofas and rotate cushions after every single guest leaves!

I consider an honor to host folks, and it’s my heart to want to spoil people! When guests come to Mabel and Harry’s Guesthouse, they will find a fully stocked kitchen of high-end cookware and induction cooktop and a drawer full of Penzey spices.

In the fridge, guests will find a cake from a local bakery, organic free range eggs, Kerry gold butter, cold pressed orange juice, and organic heavy whipping cream and half-and-half for our coffee bar. There’s also a small selection of pops.
There is also a loaf of artisan bread for toast in the morning.

I provide a modest coffee bar with a selection of coffees from a local coffee shop in Kokomo. It features two coffee makers, a 10 cup Moccamaster by Technivorm and a Keurig coffee maker and we also feature a Smeg milk frother!

Not only do we have lovely accommodations, we decorate for all the seasons. Our fall and Christmas stories are especially beautiful.

We are an accommodating and flexible team that works hard to make certain our guests have the very best!
