We are celebrating 22 years with VRBO with five star ratings. A/C and wifi. Both lakefront homes are nextdoor to each other and receive a discount when renting both.

There are three bedrooms all with Smart HDTV's. Sleeps 8 at Sunset Cottage LLC lakefront next door.
Next door at The Lake House on Cass Lake LLC sleeps 7. All three bedrooms have KING beds.

We are located on Gerundegut Bay closest to the State Park Dodge Park #4 on Cass Lake This lake is 1280 acres, the largest inland, all sports lake in SE Michigan.

Enjoy the lake, swim off the swim dock equipped with ladder or grab a swim noodle and make a splash. Plenty of space for a game of Bocce and Bean bag toss then later have a bbq and bonfire. Also we have fishing poles to use and go fishing right off the 240' boardwalk.

There are cleats for docking two boats in front of each lake home. Bring your boat or we can arrange a pontoon boat rental delivered to you and picked up for the length of your stay.

Free Summer Concerts in July on Cass Lake.
Farmers Market is nearby every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday,
Cars and Coffee on Saturday mornings are close by too.

Great Lake front property

The house is on a beautiful lake front lot, with lots of space and big trees! The beds are comfortable and the inside space is nice. You can fish and swim right out the back door! We watched fire works for the 4th of July off the dock and had a great time!

Wonderful Lake House Stay

The property, location and owners were wonderful and they made our family visit nice and welcoming. The Owners went out of their way to make us welcome and help us while we stayed there. We fully intend to stay with them again.

It was clean and very user friendly. The setting is absolutely amazing on the lake but with a no wake zone in front it is very peaceful. Kip and Ricca were very flexible and always responded very quickly. We were able to introduce our grand-daughter to all of our Michigan family!

Beautiful lake house!!

My family enjoyed staying at this lovely house on Cass Lake. The wildlife is plentiful and enjoyable to watch. Our host helped us arrange for a Pontoon Boat Rental so we could thoroughly enjoy the lake.

Lovely setting

The home was lovely but had no hot water. Ricca ,thankfully, was able to move us to their other VRBO next door. Our stay at the other property worked out fine and had the same beautiful setting. Swans greeted us each morning.

The next day the water heater was replaced. Fortunately, the larger more expensive Lake House was available for you. We hope to see you again!

Lovely setting!

Beautiful back deck and yard area with relaxing scenic water view. Peaceful and charming! House is well stocked and bbq was clean with plenty of propane. Very pleasant stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit for a family get together. The setting is so relaxing and peaceful and the location was perfect for us to rent a pontoon for boating on the lake. The Ricca and Kip were very welcoming and we would love to go back.

Idyllic, peaceful, beautiful location

We really enjoyed our stay here! The views and peacefulness were incredibly relaxing! We loved being tucked away on a quiet cul de sac, with the entrance to the larger part of the lake just around the corner. Departure clean up rules were quite reasonable. Highly recommend!

Cass Lake getaway

The house was well stockedwith amenities. It is right off of the lake, but yet not too far from any stores/restaurants. The hosts were very helpful with boat rentals and were able to answer any questions we had. It is has a beautiful view if you are looking for a quiet getaway

Our hosts were incredibly gracious! House was spotless and perfect for our group - large bedrooms,beautiful views, and plenty of space. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. My 90 year old mother was so happy!

Lovely lake home

We had a very nice stay, would love to return! House is small but has everything you need. Location is near shops and restaurants. Nice backyard with plenty of chairs and perfect for relaxing! Bay Area off main Cass lake means a quieter stay with calmer water perfect for kayaking.

Wonerful little gem

We loved this property! Ricca and Kip were so attentive to any needs we had. The area of the lake was so quiet and peaceful. We felt like we were up north. We used the fire pit a few times and really enjoyed the outdoors. I highly recommend this place!!

Lots of room for 5 adults 2 kids

Great place for us to plunk for a week with our two sons, daughter in law and two grandchildren. Beautiful view. Great location less than an hour from anything in or near Detroit. Owners allowed an extended family picnic on the property.

Perfect vacation

We had an Amazing time. The owner Ricca was very accommodating and answered any questions quickly thru text and email. Plenty of room for 3 couples plus children. The lake was fun and we enjoyed hanging out at the sandbars. I would Recommend this cabin to anyone.

Also we have just completed a new large multi-level Trex deck offering a spectacular view of the tranquil Cass Lake Bay. These are two of the many improvements we have made since your last visit. What a great location!

We rented these homes for our family trip to Michigan from Arizona. We hosted friends and family on separate days and rented a boat for a few of those days. We had a blast on the lake and the luck of perfect weather. Kip and Ricca were genuinely concerned with our stay and you could tell they really wanted us to enjoy it!

Great location with my family

I loved backing up to the bay of Cass Lake. The property is beautiful and Kip and Ricca were really helpful with information for sport rentals on the water. We enjoyed backyard campfires, and the house had plenty of space for sleeping and preparing meals for my large family, 8 of us all together. The house was clean and we really had a great time. We would love to stay here again next summer!

Peaceful lakeside cottage with plenty to do!

Ricca was great from the start and seemed like she genuinely hoped we really enjoyed our vacation. She also helped us get a pontoon lined up for the week. The house was clean and had a great view of the backyard and lake. It was nice being in the no wake zone with the kids and the main lake and sandbars were a quick coast down the bay on the boat. Would definitely come back!!

Calm weekend getaway

Once again Sunset Cottage provided a wonderful vacation weekend on the water. My daughter and I enjoyed my dear friend and her eleven year old for a few days to reconnect, by the bay of Cass Lake. The house had a complete kitchen for meals, comfortable beds and plenty of games and movies. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking. Even during the rain we could look out the huge sliding doors and enjoy the view. Kip & Ricca are gracious hosts, making every effort to personalize our stay. We had a fun, long weekend!

It is peaceful and private. On this bay with
the State Park Dodge Park no. 4 you have swans and cranes gracing this tranquil bay.
You can enjoy a game of bocce or go swimming or fish off the boardwalk. Then have a bonfire or sit and relax in the big daddy Adirondack chairs and watch the boats go by. Every season offers beauty with the Autumn leaves or gentle snow flakes.

Our property is located on Gerundegut Bay nearest the State Park Dodge Park #4 boat launch. Our location is ideal for swimming, fishing kayaking and paddle boarding. The lake houses are relaxing to sit and enjoy
watching the swans flying over the bay or the cranes by the shoreline. We have a
boardwalk that is 240' and it lights up at night and some of the trees too. Of course fishing swimming and boating are available as well.
Whatever your pleasure. Our large property is perfect for many yard games and bbq’s!
