The cabin home features views of Lake Tahoe and Sierra mountains, family-friendly living, fully stocked kitchen with extra small appliances, updated mattresses and furnishings, gas BBQ grill, outdoor lounging and dining sets, laundry room with ample storage, smart televisions in the living room and downstairs bedroom, Wifi, washer, dryer, large dining room seating arrangement, and large back deck with hot tub. The kitchen has cooking and baking essentials, and towels and sheets provided.

 

The bedroom downstairs has a queen bed with a bathroom with a tub/shower combo just down the hall. The first upstairs bedroom has one queen bed and two twin beds, the second bedroom has a double bed and two twin beds, and the third bedroom has a twin bed. The upstairs bathroom features a shower. There is high speed Wifi with extenders throughout the house and a smart television in the living and downstairs bedroom.

Parking: The home allows up to three vehicles on the parking pad. No parking on the street or dirt areas. You will be issued a parking permit, which they must display on drivers side dashboard of your vehicle. “Failure to park in the designated parking spaces and/or display the parking permit may result in a citation and fine of $500 to the owner of the vehicle”. 
 
NO BACHELOR PARTIES OR BACHELORETTE PARTIES!

 

We do not allow rentals to groups under the age of 25 years old!! We require a copy of the primary renter’s driver’s license as proof of 25 years or older, per Douglas County VHR Code. 

 

No Air Conditioning: Like most homes at Lake Tahoe, there is no air conditioning. Fans provided.

 

Fire/Smoke Season can affect air quality. Please review our cancellation policy. We do not provide refunds due to air quality. 
 
HOA Note: The townhouse is in a condo association. Each home is individually owned and managed. Therefore, we do not create the HOA rules and guidelines, but ask you to be respectful and follow the rules. Please read and follow the HOA and county rules. Rules are enforced by the HOA and Douglas County. Please be mindful of the quiet hours (9pm-8am) and your noise levels.
 
THIS IS NOT A SKI IN/SKI OUT HOME. Distance to Heavenly is about 10-15 min away.

Great house in a super convenient location.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Tanner’s Cabin in Elk Point. When we arrived the house was heated, which was very nice because it was unusually cold during our stay. On the drive up there were snow flurries, though it wasn’t cold enough to stick. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of pots and pans along with a generous amount of flatware, silverware, and glasses, and there is dishwasher that makes cleanup easier. Once we were settled in, we enjoyed the view and access to the shoreline of the lake! If you like to stream or are going to work remotely, the high-speed internet is fine for streaming one device – it runs around 24gps. We were getting a bit better bandwidth on 5G. We recommend bringing your own Roku or other streamer, as the local tv is not that great. The cabin owners provide a handy HDMI cable to connect without fussing. We were able to connect a computer to the TV using the HDMI as well. There is a hot tub and barbeque, which we’ve enjoyed previously, but it was too chilly this go-round. This cabin is so conveniently located! The Safeway nearby is 24 hours and has everything you might need, and the fridge is large enough to hold the food from several bags of groceries. We drove to Carson City one day and discovered a Costco there. Handy! We also had easy access to South Lake Tahoe, and enjoyed exploring the shops around the Gondola, BBQ and Karaoke at RoJo’s (recommended if you like rowdy karaoke!), and a fancy dinner at the Edgewood.

Great New Years Family location
My family and I had a great time during our stay. Everything was smooth and easy, and whenever I had any additional questions, Brandon was extremely quick and happy to help. The location is very convenient for a Heavenly ski trip and the lake views are stunning. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a great spot in a well stocked house. I want to come back to Tahoe and stay at this location. Walls a little thin, but that would be being picky. Beach setup was unbeatable.

Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about giving this place a 5-star review - why encourage competition for our re-booking? ... Well ... The photos as of 11/2022 do an unusually good job of portraying the place. Earlier photos attracted me but also gave me pause. I booked anyway and our group had a great time (6 unrelated, older adult males), lucking out on perfect early October weather. Next year we hope to make the place work for 8 guys. The 3-bed rooms are surprisingly nice, the master is more than nice, the one upstairs solo room is smaller-seeming than the photos indicate. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen of the 10 places we've rented in S. Lake Tahoe since 2010. The location is truly unique. Not right on the beach but super convenient. Also the Safeway-based shopping area is really helpful and there's a great Japanese restaurant in there as well. One thing most people maybe overlook is the Highway 50 road noise. It is almost entirely absent! The Elk Point area (this part anyway) is shielded to N&E by a massive "sound barrier", otherwise known as a mountain - Round Mound. To the S the sound is attenuated a lot by distance across forest and State Beach, etc. A great, unexpected feature making this rental just about one-of-a-kind in all of the South Lake Tahoe area. Of, not to forget, Brandon was tirelessly and promptly helpful.
