This place is really wonderful! I came with a group of ladies. The kichen was well stocked, the hot tub amazing and the outdoor fireplace a real gift as the weather turned so cold this weekend. This is our second time renting Foothills Retreat. The host responds quickly to inquiries and that is greatly appreciated.

Spent a long weekend with 12 of my best friends for my bachelor party and this place exceeded my expectations. The place comfortably slept 13 people and had plenty of bathrooms which was a plus. The views from the two tiered deck of the lake were amazing. The downstairs area with the pool table was in use all weekend. The hot tub was in great condition…sometimes hot tubs at a rental property may not heat up fully but this one did. The walk from the house to the dock was long but well worth it. Had a blast jumping into the water and relaxing on the splash pad which was a great surprise. The property was also centrally located to the two public golf course on Smith Mountain Lake and a couple minute drive to the marina where we rented a pontoon boat. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

My extended family and I had a great long weekend staying here. It was cold out, but we enjoyed the indoor and outdoor fireplace, hot tub, pool table, fusbol and beautiful views. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway.

HIGHLY recommend! The outside deck is a dream and the most perfect hang out area. The host is so organize and make the stay easy and enjoyable. The house fit 10 of us extremely comfortably.

This lake house provided a great escape for our family filled with family time, fun, food, rest, and relaxation. The kitchen was well equipped with appliances, utensils, storage containers, serving ware, dishes, and cookware. The pool table, hot tub, and fire places are great features of the property. The home was spacious and offered a perfect retreat for some much needed time away!

Great layout for a family of 12! Host responded quickly. Hot tub was great & cleaned while there. Kitchen had modern appliances & good equipment— no extras as far as spices, etc. The linen & cleanliness however was lacking— bunkbeds not made & one bed appeared not clean & soap lacking. Deck did not have umbrella covering as stated but one was brought when called. Deck ladder scary cuz water so low. Overall, though, i would stay again! The dining room table is awesome for 12 to all sit at once! Living room needs more chairs.

We had the most relaxing time at the property. It was right on the lake, so we enjoyed being able to go at our leisure. A paddle board and a kayak were available for our use, so we enjoyed paddling around, curling up by the fire pit, and relaxing in the hot tub. Very quiet, relaxing atmosphere. We definitely hope to return!

We enjoyed the peaceful cove and especially the hot tub and fire pit. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen had good cooking space. For a group of 12, we were short one coffee cup, but other than that the dishes/utensils were ample and small appliances were very helpful.We truly appreciated the gas fireplaces as the weather was quite cool and we were still able to be outside to drink our coffee and enjoy the surrounding area.

Family Vacation

Stayed for a week for a family vacation. Had a great time and the accommodations were great. Walk to lake was a little difficult but everyone managed and really enjoyed spending the week there. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect for a family getaway

Had an amazing time at this property. Probably the best pool table in a rental I've ever seen. There are a lot of steps to get from the house to the dock but I think that's generally going to be the same with almost all of the properties in the area.

Had a great time connecting with old high school friends who now live spread out along the eastern seaboard. House was clean and comfortable. Pool table and fooseball table we big hits. We were able to park a boat at the dock.
