The photos attracted us, but they don't do justice to this property. The views were AMAZING and no, I couldn't capture the beauty with my camera either. The layout is PERFECT with rooms spread over three levels. We knew we'd love the hot tub, but the fireflies gave us a nightly show as we floated our stress away. What we didn't expect was spending hours (and hours) playing pool with the boys, just laghing and being close without the gaming consoles in our lives.
The location is about 10-15 minutes from town which was perfect for us since we wanted to unplug and unwind, but it was convenient enough to have several great meals, go tubing and river rafting, gem mining, play miniature golf... the list goes on. We were thankful for the 4WD truck my wife's father loaned us-- I can imagine some cars might have difficulty on that last stretch up the hill to the cabin.
As the listing states, there is no WiFi (a perk for our selection to eliminate Xbox and work computers) but we had better-than-expected cell service, so we didn't unplug quite as much as we'd hoped. But that was on us. We still returned completely refreshed!
Other things we loved that we hadn't thought about:
Nearly instant hot water and great water pressure. Ceiling fans galore supplemented the powerful AC. Nice appliances including a dishwater. Nice plates, silverware, cooking pans and untelsils were all appreciated. A Master BR that seemed miles away from the game room on the lower level! We made a fire one night in the fire pit and had smores.
We didn't get to see a bear, but we saw the evidence (paw prints and claw marks includes) of one that tried to raid the bear-proof trash. Watch your little ones!
Sorry this has probably gone on too long, but we would HIGHLY recommend this lovely cabin in a fantastic location to anyone who wants to 'get away' for few days, unplug, and unwind. Our batteries are fully recharged!
