The location and views are fantastic, they made the stay wonderful! We were a group of 8. In addition to the main house we rented both the cottage and the studio which comfortably accommodated our group. Each of the 3 units has its own bed, bath and kitchen area as well. There were some annoyances, however. Lights in the front entrance to the main house didn't work, nor did the main light over the sink in the master bath. The freezer kept defrosting itself and leaking all over our food in the fridge. The burners on the stove didn't all work all the time. We prepared many meals, and appreciated that the kitchen was well stocked, and had plenty of plates, glasses, pans, cooking utensils, etc. Communication about check-in was very poor. Vacasa did not give us codes to check in until immediately before check-in. VRBO rentals for other parts of our trip gave us the codes the morning of the rental. We were not trying to check in early, we just wanted to have the information to share with all family members who were arriving separately. Vacasa as a third party creates obstacles in the process, it is not a benefit. We called Vacasa to get information on check-in, and were put on hold multiple times, creating a call that lasted at least 15 minutes. Upon arrival, the new electronic entrance system to all 3 units was not working, so we had to get physical keys out of the lock boxes for all 3 units. If Vacasa had told us this when we called initially, it would've been much easier. Checkout was 10am, and the morning of our departure the cleaning service arrived early and was in the studio unit at 9:45. Fortunately, the two people staying in that unit had already moved out.
The home is older, and does need to be updated. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, because it accommodated our large group and the location and views were fabulous. With the cost of this rental, I would encourage the owners to make repairs and updates to reflect what they're asking travelers to pay.
