This was our 3rd stay at Acorn Ridge and it was wonderful! We love the different outdoor and indoor spaces it has for a big group and in the fall the property was spectacularly beautiful! Kitchen is well stocked for cooking and we loved cozying up by the fireplace in the evenings.

Perfect home base for our college reunion...The house was huge, clean, and well stocked, with a rustic Vermont feel. Great location for activities around Waitsfield, Mad River Glen, and Norwich University. The outdoor amenities were perfect for enjoying the Vermont fall. Highly recommend!

The property is amazing - totally private and in a beautiful setting. From the sunlight on the pond, to all of the amenities in the house(s), it makes for an excellent holiday. We stayed in the summer, and spent time cooling off in the pond. We were also lucky enough to enjoy an extreme Perseid event - almost 100 meteors. The proximity to everything in the MRV is spectacular.

Our family stayed for our annual ski trip and loved our stay! Andy was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. The house is nice and private and had everything we needed right at our fingertips. Lots of space and perfect for young kids. We'll definitely be returning!

One of the best houses we have ever stayed at! The amenities combined with the aesthetics were top notch. From the heated bathroom floors to the sauna - it all created an incredibly comfortable vacation. The hosts were informative, receptive, and kind. Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

This house and property were perfect for our large group of families and couples. There was enough space to spread out, fun sleeping arrangements for the kids, and a fully appointed kitchen, all in an extremely peaceful setting. It was close to town and skiing plus had enough property to explore without needed to head into town. No issues during our stay, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the space. Thanks to the hosts!

Amazing Family Getaway

Every detail at Acorn Ridge is thoughtfully considered and everything you need for an amazing getaway is at your fingertips. The Phelan’s are superlative hosts and their property is an amazing respite from respite from urban hustle and clamor. Had a great time, house & property are lovely. Pond is too murky for swimming but the kids had a fun time kayaking. Hosts are extremely prompt with any questions we had. Thank you for a lovely vacation

Thanks for the 5-star review. Yes, folks love the huge pond, not just for kayaking, but for exploring and swimming. It is a natural spring-fed pond and not chlorinated or pumped with any chemicals so it will not be clear like folks might expect a swimming pool to be. It's very healthy with fish, frogs, small turtles, crayfish, salamanders -- and also gets frequent visits from local wildlife (Great Blue Herons, Kingfishers, ducks, fox, deer, etc.). Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Presidents Day Long Weekend near Sugarbush

My family had a great long weekend stay! The owners are great with communication. The house is very clean and well organized with everything you could want for a stay in Vermont. We went skiing (quick drive to Sugarbush), and used the sauna, and played family games. Great nearby restaurant options.

Amazing property!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! We were in town for a wedding and had a pretty big group, so not everybody had a very comfortable bed but we made It work. The bunkbeds are really only for little kids so they weren’t a good option for adults, but otherwise the house was great for a big group and we had a ton of fun sitting by the two fire pits and using all the beautiful outdoor areas.

Great ski trip and location

We stayed as a family and the property worked out wonderful. Communication with the owner was excellent. I do think it should be recommended that whoever rents the property should make sure they have a 4 wheel drive since the road to the house was dirt and had some challenging muddy days to get to the house.

Group for ski races

Andy was a fantastic host. We were in the area for ski races and the property had everything we needed for our team, plus the coaches. We will definitely be reaching out to stay again when we are back for races next year!

Great Stay in the Mad River Valley, Vermont

My friends/family and I had a wonderful stay at this fantastic house in the Mad River Valley of Vermont. The house was just as good as it is shown in photos. We greatly enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the pond, hanging out in the grass, playing foosball, and barbecuing on the patio. The host was very communicative and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a rural stay with a big group in beautiful Vermont.

Week long comfort

I have been renting this house for several years in the winter now. It is so well equipped for families and friends which is a tremendous load off of a week or weekend. The owners work hard to keep the property in great shape. If you are looking for a great house in the valley go for it.

Fantastic Fall in Vermont

The property is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing getaway with the family. We loved the house, the serenity of the outdoor spaces, and how it was pretty much 'turn-key' with all of the amenities/provisions given. Andy is a wonderful host who goes above and beyond to make sure you have what you need and that everything is as good as can be with your stay. Communication was absolutely top notch and the small towns nearby are charming with plenty of great things to do for everyone. We will definitely return!

UVM Graduation

We stayed here for our youngest daughter's graduation (total of 5 nights). If possible, the house, grounds, and amenities are even nicer than the rental listing indicates, and with several decades of vacation rental experience, I can say unequivocally that this rental is the best equipped and organized we have ever visited. Andy was great throughout the process, and texted to make sure everything was good once we arrived. The site is very convenient to Waitsfield, Waterbury and Stowe areas, and the Mad River Valley is amazing. I wish we could have stayed longer.
